You know, I am pretty sure it was a freedom video, over a year ago, that got me into lightworks. Before that I was just using moviemaker. It does have a steep learning curve, but like any new type of software you try, it's only a mater of time and practice that will get your skill level up. Good to see another video of it again to get the word out there as it is far superior to any other free video editing software available. Mint vid.
Lightworks is absolutely stellar for a free editing software. My dad recommended it to me when I asked about editing stuff. Heck, some professionals use LW.

Haven't watched the video yet, but I'm excited to learn! I'm a noob when it comes to editing, so all I do is speed up the video and add music in the RUclips editor. But I want to do more! Hopefully, I'll be able to learn.

Excellent Tutorial !!!. I could grasp the overall picture of - how the work-process are to be, - what functionalities are within, - what those complex boxes are all about. - & what buttons to press for what effects., . . . And besides that,,, as for a foreigner like myself,,, if ppl speaks w/ strong accent.....it becomes very hard to catch the meaning. Thankfully, u have a very comfortable speech while in concise but concrete manner.

Lightworks is a great editor, I found it last year sometime and started playing around with it since I was going to do some tutorials on it to compliment my OBS tutorial series, since then though I have found in my opinion 2 even stronger free editing software Hit Film 3 express, and Davinci Resolve, personally Hit Film seems to be the one I am leaning to the most as it has no limitations at all no water marks and has built in composting as well its like having premiere and after effects in one software you should defiantly check that out.
+Neocrypter Forgot to mention it has a pretty good lib of effects and dose rotoscopeing very well even has an auto tracking feature for rotoscopeing not something you normally find in free software, 90% of us wouldn't us it I'm sure but still nice, I did a quick lightsaber video to test it out and it worked great.
to be honest, if your not one of those RUclipsrs making insanely edited videos, all you need is the basic controls and sometimes DVE and that should be enough

Yes, you can. Learn what keyframes are. It's basically like coding, but simple. You add a DVE to the object you want to move, and then you click on the stopwatch icon next to it. Then you can set it's starting point. Then go to the ending point, and change the position or scale. You don't have to move it frame by frame.

Very helpful except my screen looked a little different on import. Maybe what version your working with would help the viewer understand if they were working with the same. It was semi easy to figure out anyway. It is also exactly what I needed to see. this is the kind of feed back that will be helpful to all and not other comments I have seen on this page i.e finding the cursor. If I need more help i know where to go. I know help links come with the free Lightworks but I've enjoyed your well spoken professional video.

you go to Effects>Video, Mattes>Image and drag the effect on your track. an options window will pop up where you can choose a file and then keyframe it however you like.

hey look this comment is when am unistalling vegas pro 13 for lightworks,and i have to ask is it going to do that thing were you have to log into youtube and it takes you hours just to type it right or find out whats wrong why is it not sighning me into youtube and importing my hard work video...i got really stressed out about that and it pissed me off so much....

Have you made an account with Lightworks on their website yet? If your username and password are invalid chances are a) you didn't enter them correctly or b) you haven't made an account with them yet.
Does the free version automatically sort of add a text that's there for the entire video? In a way like bandicam puts their website at the top if it's the free version.

@5:15 "simply click on it" What is IT? Why can't I see your pointer? I use Cubase Artist 8 for editing audio, and it is editable down to thousands of a second, easily grab and slide clips around in their respective tracks, or to and from tracks... I used this lightworks for a half hour and want to punch my fucking screen.. Be more specific. What is it? I can't get that menu to pop up so I can add External Audio (mixed in cubase and exported as a WAV) to sync up with the video from my camera.
Zesty, I am starting to make and upload my own gameplay videos and was looking into Lightworks for my editing software. This seems to be good for a beginner that has never done video editing before and has just uploaded streams directly from twitch with no editing. Would you, or your viewers, agree with this? I'm undecided of whether to get this or wondershare filmora software, so maybe if you know which one is best? P.s wondershare isn't free, however, If I was to export it- it would have a water mark on it and IS free, but I don't want a watermark to be there :(
Layers. The base video layer is the main video, the other layers are overlays for text, images to demonstrate a point or to showcase the topic and transition back to the main video layer. Multiple audio layers, allows the mic audio to be separate from a music layer and additional layers which can be used for demonstrative purposes such as with the video layer that is used to demonstrate a talking/subject point, etc. All of these require pre-planning in the recording stage and offer a higher level of control when editing the video, especially to balance the sound differences between the main video's audio and the mic audio. I hope this gives you a better understanding of the purpose of multiple layers and tracks. 👍😄
well, im having a problem. i am using lightworks for a few days now, but if my video is around 13 minutes long, and i save it, i have 17 minutes of black screen after the normal video renderd in. how do i fix that?
Hey, I like your video. I just have one problem with Lightworks. Whenever I try to edit a recording from OBS any files that come after the OBS recording do not show up in the end file (i.e. it's just a blank, black screen for the rest of the video). Would you happen to know why?
Is it able to zoom in and out of pictures/videos? Also, can it color correct only a certain area of the picture/frame or the entire thing? If not, is there a free/cheap software that does?
