Stephanie Coleman on “Pulse Bowing”

I love Stephanie Coleman’s fiddling, and our relationship with old-time music is amazingly similar... we both grew up with it and were influenced by a lot of the same great Midwestern musicians (she grew up in Chicago, I was in northern Indiana).
Knowing that she and I share an intuitive approach to traditional music, I was curious to pick her brain about how she teaches fiddle. Here’s the first installment of our conversation!
