I had a go at putting one of these Poang's together today. Things started off great. Then it came to putting the sides on. Well, I never realised how many swear words I had in my vocabulary - or how many different ways and combinations I could use them. Luckily, I came across your video, and I am now sitting on my fully assembled Poang, thanking you for putting such an easy to follow tuition video together for those of us who need it. 👍
Lol, not exactly the same situation, but I just built a floor toddler bed yesterday. And I did some swearing too haha. Glad this video helped though. We love our Poang!
This is by far the best. I have seen at least one other tutorial online, which goes very quickly, too quickly, and clearly skips over a lot of the difficult little steps. Thank you. 👍
Thank you so much for this, for some reason when ordering it didn’t occur to me that of course everything IKEA comes flat packed 😅 and was kind of worried since I’m not the best at assembly. Now I have you as my trusty guide through the process ❤
Thanks a lot, a perfect tutorial for assembling this Ikea chair. I just got a bit stuck when pushing through the two support pieces for the seat, seemed a bit tight with my chair, but it finally worked.
✋👍👌 Excellent teacher for ordinary DIY enthusiasts like me. Even Ikea members and other youtubers on these products are not as square and precise. You should specialize in this kind of videos with ikea products..✔️
Now that you've had this chair for a few years, what do you think of it? Is it comfortable. Also, can you access the cushion (is there a zipper)? Thinking of a Poang chair, but this one seems "cheaper" than others that have more substantial cushions & especially better built w/ zipper access to help maintain the wearable parts. Just looking for your honest feedback. Thk u kindly.
I actually really like this chair. We bought it for my wife to nurse our daughter when she was born, but it's still in her room and we sit on it while she plays in her room now. The way it's angled back actually makes it pretty comfortable IMO. The cushion is pretty thin, but not comfortable for me whenever I sit on it. But I haven't sat on it for any extended period of time, heads up. The cushion does seem to be washable just how it is. It doesn't have any zippers. Looks like you can just throw the whole thing in the washer.
hello can you please reassure me if this cushion is comfortable ? im thinking of buying a Poang and im hesitating between this one and the more expensive one with the neck cushion but if this one was comfortable enough i would buy it because i have read in some videos that it is extremely uncomfortable thank you in advance
I mean, that's really a subjective question. You have to remember this chair is at a budget price point, so you can't expect it to be as comfortable as say, a $300 chair. That said, I think this chair is pretty comfortable for the price TBH. The cushion isn't super thick, as you can see, but the underlayment is a stretchy material, so it's not like you'd be sitting on a hard piece of wood or something. There is some give there. It's pretty nice for the price and not uncomfortable IMO.
If I had watched your video before assembling a previously disassembled chair, I wouldn't get in trouble. Now, I have those short nuts completely stuck in the wrong places. 😢

Thanks! My poang frame came with no instructions so your video was a huge help. Saved me time on the phone trying to get a copy of the instructions.
Glad it helped! Just an FYI, you can find any PDF instructions for any IKEA piece on their website on the product page.
I found some instructions online. They appear to be for the child's version and are quite wrong because they include metal parts for the backrest.

Thank you. I came across your video after trying for 3 hours with the instructions manual. It took mins after your tutorial. 😊

We have 2 that we bought about 25 years ago, back then the first 3 minutes were already done by IKEA (the seat and the backrest)...
Dang that's some good ROI out of those chairs if you've had them that long!
Life saver!
