I've been using Albedo to progress (as a F2P). I have 3 star Shalltear (+22 weapon) and M+ Albedo (+0 weapon, just unlocked no resources). I was stuck in Ch.25 but have gone up to 28 since getting these two. I'm not super surprised to hear that Ainz isn't being used, but Albedo was a shock to hear you mention. I guess I'm gonna take Albedo to 1 star, then 5 star my Shalltear, then keep starring Albedo (This is all assuming I get lucky with pulls, I have nothing left after this, I saved up for this event and spent it all).
@ Shalltear all the way. She’s very strong. Albedo and Ainz are harder to say. Albedo apparently only needs M to be useful (+30 weapon required still), and Ainz isn’t really seeing much play, still unsure if it’s cause he’s bad or if everyone went for Shalltear first. You can stop Shalltear at 3 stars, but I took her to 5 after this comment. I’m going to save my spirits before choosing to ascend Albedo further or Ainz at all.
I'd recommend saving them if you're interested in the long term growth. Once you get 25x 5* Heroes, you'll unlock an upgrade to the Temple that will enable a further growth path called Transcendent. Going from 5* Ascended to 1* Transcended requires 4x Elite+ of the same hero as fodder (aka 8x copies). You might've seen the top players on your server with rainbow border characters, that's Transcendent.
Afk mythic gear apparently unlocks with Chapter 31. I probably get about 1 piece a week, on average, and there's no guarantee it'll have a faction mark either.

Since I don't have Ainz or Albedo I'm struggling to decide which to get. Should I get Shalltear, Ainz, or Albedo?
should i spend all my gem for shalltear? (f2p, i have enough gems for 420 rolls to get 4 red items)
Mine in Campions is 4 stars in Classic until today nothing is released, you have to wait a long time 😢
