Did ya know if you use fence foundations behemoth gates will snap to them. :D
You can place wooden fence foundations on the ceilings than the gate has a snap point.

Slip you can fix the pillar nipples by placing a pillar on one of your no nipple ceilings and placing another ceiling on it and build out placing pillars down the new ceiling layer, it should make the pillars even. Then you can even out your wall by connecting ceiling with the main build. Its the sand layer that's under the ground that is causing snap errors

During the funktage it looked like Mostrosity was dancing along =) Hey Sl1p - I have a cheaty suggestion for you - my monitor has a feature that displays a crosshair in the centre of the screen. It makes it super helpful for placing building structures, picking up eggs, spotting dino levels etc. Mine is an ASUS PG278Q, but I'm sure there are others with this feature. A cheaper alternative would be to place a tiny amount of bluetack on the longneck crosshairs =)

Hey, Sl1p, thanks for taking the time to do projects like this still with all the content you put out these days. It's really good to see big projects like this get finished and look so good. I check out some of the other builds on the other channels on the server as well, and I really like it when you guys all show each other your bases. Group stuff and things is one of the most amusing things on your channel sometimes and all of you guys are even funnier in groups. Shenanigans! Keep up the good work!

Sl1p, There is a fix for the pillar issue! If you ever want your pillars not to stick through your ceilings, follow these 4 steps:
1. Place 1 pillar sticking halfway through the ceiling
2. place a second pillar underneath it, but look for the LOWEST snap! There's 2 snaps very close to eachother, this might take some time.
3. Build your pillar all the way to the ground so it is supported
4. Demolish the pillar sticking halfway out on top
Like this so Sl1p will see it please, he still has some stuff and things to learn about building! Great vid!

that is a fabulous water pen! don't forget you can snap the dino gates to fence foundations , would have made it super easy if you had put one where the door was to be placed. Awesome ep :D

Usually when Sl1p starts to build something I'm like "WTF?!" but patience kicks in and I watch him finish or adjust. It almost always turns out completely unique and a really cool design. His decor base on this season is incredible.
Dear Slip,You realize you can just push the pen back into the shallows and get Sashimi and Tammy in up to the coast with no problem and give Mostrosity the deep end. That would allow it to turn around without the door problem. Also, big fan of your works, especially the regular Ark series
and dinos that live under water there not actually dinks there MARINE REPTILES and the pteranodons there actullay flying reptiles and dunkleosteus is a placoderm a group of armored fish

@Sl1pG8r hey Slip, put down fence foundations before placing the behemoth gateway, the gateway will then snap to the fence foundations :P Great Vid as usual :)

@Sl1pg8r It might have been mentioned, or by now you might already know, but: about the pillars. When you place them from above (from a ceiling) start with a pillar sticking halfway through. After that, underneath the ceiling you get 2 stappoints. 1 snappoint is the one you know where the pillar sticks through. If you try carefully there is one snap point below that (slightly down), if you snap to that it will not stick through the top. After that you can remove the top half sticking out. Also, if it does not want to place at the bottom, move around, there will be a spot that will allow you to place. I don't understand why, but sometimes it allows to place only from a specific angle.

I love those montages. And I understand the troubles of underwater building. I helped make an epic bridge for my tribe, and there's ONE ceiling tile that won't place even though there's pillars in practically all other surrounding tiles. It just doesn't seem fair that scenery can bring a build to a stop sometimes.
Every frustrated comment you made I made on my last server, except I built mine from wood. So MANY pillars. So many frustrations.

Good advice for placing pillars. If the next pillar says obstructed. Place one additional on the "first" pillar to build two high. then the next should be working! and it will snap one that is "two" high...

There are a lot of comments here and I do not have time to read them all so I am sorry if I am repeating information. However, if you place fence foundations on the outer edge of the ceilings that you placed the behemoth gate on the gate will "snap" to them allowing for "perfect" placement. Also, if you had used thatch roofs when placing the pillars you could have then placed your stone ceilings on top of the pillars for that smooth surface you were going for. Coincidentally I just finished building my water pen this morning then started watching some videos only to find you doing the same thing. My pen was quite a bit larger then yours but yours was much more polished then mine. Very nice build.

Easiest stone building is to do what Maz does.. Gather buttloads of thatch and wood. Then go get stone.
I modified his method a bit by loading up a weight quetz with wood and thatch then flying a deodi to metal nodes. A pure node gives upwards of 1k stone. So much faster.
