This is as bare bones a bowl game I've seen so far in the portal era.. That being said, this one comes down to roster. Notre Dame simply has the more talented roster to survive all of the opt outs there are on both sides in this one.
Note: Zeke Correll, former starting center for Notre Dame, did in fact transfer out of program. The information you aren't privy to here is: Correll was injured around week 10 and redshirt freshman Ashton Craig got the start at center, he played FANTASTIC. Correll decided to transfer because he would not be starting at center for the Irish in 2024, no matter how well he returned from injury.
The Irish RB room is crazy-loaded, with or without the best RB in the nation in Audric Estime. The QB/WR situation for both teams are shaky but Notre Dame's secondary is probably the best in the country, especially with the 2023 Bronko Nagurski award winner in Xavier Watts returning in 24' for the Irish and suiting up for this game. 2nd team All-America NT Howard Cross and his playing mate inside, Riley Mills, also both return for Notre Dame in 2024 and will both play in this one as well. The young Notre Dame LBs are FAST and very talented, you'll see a lot of them in this one. Irish by 13

These “experts “ didn’t provide a complete picture. From what I’ve seen the Beaver defense has also been affected by the transfer portal

yeah it's way worse for the Beavs than they said. Their offensive line will be missing several guys plus their best receiver, LOTS of missing parts plus a brand new offensive coordinator. ND will have way more talent on the field.
