disgusted cat I was so disappointed by the game. Everything was perfect except the story. I don’t think I’ll ever replay the 2nd but I’ll play the first at least once a year
When I played this game, I had no idea what it was about. I said, hey this game looks pretty cool, and tried it out. This opening song made stop and stare that the window, I was wondering what this game is going to do to me emotionally. I thought Joel's daughter was Ellie in the trailers, and then I see Sarah I was like, okay the girl just grows up and dyes her hair. When Sarah died, I got chills and remember having to take a break. It was just so sad!
This is sad. You can tell right away this will be sad. It begins with a dirty wall and window with vines and fluttering curtains in the breeze, the lighting, the minor music, slow and dreary, all together giving an already ominous and depressing experience. It's beautiful and haunting at once, and it stayes with you. So much in such a small thing A beautiful work of art before the game's first cut scene even begins.
I know it sounds corny as all hell but i remember the first time i played this game was the day after my mother passed away, i was looking for literally anything to get my mind away from what was happening and i found The Last of Us. Its hard to explain but this game and its OST helped so much, ill never forget it.

1:04, those simple guitar notes tell you that this game ain't joking around and gives me the feeling of WOW and excitement just by listening to those guitar notes 😌👌🏻
This is the best menu intro ever. I remember back then on 2014, I was 9 years old and opened the game for the first time, seeing this window and this music was something extraordinary, I just knew that this game wasn't gonna be just a "zombies game", but one of the best games in history. TLOU will always be in my heart, and I wish that when I die I can reborn as myself again so I can play this for the first time once more. ❤

The main menu’s music this video’s subject are really impactful when you start getting to know the story and the characters, evoking emotional states even when not playing the game. This game indeed stays with you for a long time, and it is a privilege for visually impaired individuals to play. I’m truly thankful to the developers who included accessibility options, allowing us blind people to play. Again, thank you for letting us blind people embark on a journey with Joel and Ellie, whom I love so much and have actually grown attached to.

Greatest game of all time without any fkn doubt. I remember the first time starting this thing up in the middle of the night in a pitch black room listening to this music for the first time…… it gave me chills down my spine. What an absolute masterpiece from Naughty Dog
O just beat the game today. Words can't describe how amazing this game is. Best game i have ever played in my life. Totally worth it saving money for this.
0:52-1:11 This makes me so sad and melancholy at the same time. This is amazing. Makes me think of Sam and Henry though. That scene made me a different person inside.
I remember getting this in late 2013, right after I'd gotten my PS3, and man, what a hell of a time. This game is incredible. I'd basically just stepped into the seventh gen of consoles and this was the game to show me what modern titles were truly capable of on this kind of hardware. Thank you, Naughty Dog, for this gift.
The absolute masterpiece of the gaming industry, easily the best game there is. Great story, characters, gameplay, music, locations... all very original and very memorable. I remember how I first played a little bit of it when I was at my cousin's birthday; he had the game on his PS3, and it kinda mesmerized me.
Watching the window, the curtain slowly being blown by the wind, the sound of the outside, the leafs, the grass, the buzzes of the bees, while the music plays, it feels so atmospheric when you look at it that way. Like, you're really transported into that sad crazy world of The Last Of Us. It feels amazing.
Idk what it is, but that picture is a mood. There's that eerie, unease feel to it... Off centered window of a decrepit house. As if time had kept going without us. No one's home, not even us.
It astounds me that after two years I can still confidently say this is still my favorite game, and the best I have ever played. I've never been touched as emotionally in my life as I had from a platform that I would have least expected it. I sincerely hope Naughty Dog, and others can try to match the quintessential beauty of that is The Last of Us.
I came back here after the The Last Of Us Part 2 disaster. I just wanted to listen this masterpiece once more, because this little moments, with the wind and the guitar sounds... makes Part 1 very special for me. This game has been a masterpiece for many people, and the way it develops the story, the music... It'll always take a special part in my heart. Just listen to this to remember all the good things I experienced 7 years ago. Rest In Peace, Joel. Hope you are fine with Sarah in heaven. Love you all.
To be honest am disappointed about joel death but we all knew its coming and i didn't think the story of part 2 is disaster ya it could have been better but its different and full of brutally and vengeance....i really liked the gameplay so much its so better than the original last of us
I was with her when we played this game in 2015 just for the Remastered on PS4. She was by my side cuddling and listening to this main menu. Now she's gone and it's always heartbreaking going through this intro. A sight of her smile always compose into my mind, her laughs and her warmth. Now it's 2019, her arms lurk to a single abyss. The type of abyss how a lady think she could handle without a another pair of arms. An adventure what she likes to call, " A New Path "
I have never been so emotionally invested in a game ever before or since the last of us. The feel of the game is so much like my life. The music is what I hear in my head when going through these bland empty days. Its almost like this game represents depression and grief. The emptiness of my life is like suffering and the emptiness of this game eases it.
if i ever have kids, and when they get to the age, i honestly just want to sit down with them and play this game. like i know they might not like the same stuff i do, but the story, the character development, the soundtrack, the way it breaks your heart but also warms it. this game will stick with me forever
This game stays with you for a LONG time.

0:52-1:11 This makes me so sad and melancholy at the same time. This is amazing. Makes me think of Sam and Henry though. That scene made me a different person inside.
2:30 this whole bit about sums up the mood of the whole game
do you know the name of the instrument playing?
I remember getting this in late 2013, right after I'd gotten my PS3, and man, what a hell of a time. This game is incredible. I'd basically just stepped into the seventh gen of consoles and this was the game to show me what modern titles were truly capable of on this kind of hardware. Thank you, Naughty Dog, for this gift.
"Start PS4, place the last of us remastered disc, press O, main menu, Never press the button, just laying back and hearing, thinking, wondering."

I'm so glad you uploaded this, this is actually in my top 3 TLOU soundtracks, and I was so surprised to not find it in the ost. Thank you so much
Watching the window, the curtain slowly being blown by the wind, the sound of the outside, the leafs, the grass, the buzzes of the bees, while the music plays, it feels so atmospheric when you look at it that way. Like, you're really transported into that sad crazy world of The Last Of Us. It feels amazing.
Still cant believe this game is now 10 year old.. this brings back so much good memories
Idk what it is, but that picture is a mood. There's that eerie, unease feel to it... Off centered window of a decrepit house. As if time had kept going without us.
No one's home, not even us.
You know a game is good when the music alone stays with you over 5 years...just waiting on #2...
This game gives off vibes that I can't explain anyone else feel that way
Definitely
fr it gives off old summer vibes
after seeing the last of us 2 trailer, i know i need to came back and listen to this. the feels....
krrzt same dude
Aged like milk.
Thanks Gustavo for another amazing soundtrack. 😊😊❤❤💖
To be honest am disappointed about joel death but we all knew its coming and i didn't think the story of part 2 is disaster ya it could have been better but its different and full of brutally and vengeance....i really liked the gameplay so much its so better than the original last of us
🙁
DEVINCHY did you notice the ending when Ellie leaves is the same as this? Like it came full circle.
Disaster ? Funny way of pronouncing masterpiece
No matter the graphics are good or bad... It all depends on te story..
An adventure what she likes to call, " A New Path "
sorry to hear brother.
uh sad
I have never been so emotionally invested in a game ever before or since the last of us. The feel of the game is so much like my life. The music is what I hear in my head when going through these bland empty days. Its almost like this game represents depression and grief. The emptiness of my life is like suffering and the emptiness of this game eases it.
The moments I spent in this game bring me good memories, and forgotten memories, I simply wanted to experience that again.
Episode 3’s ending is a reference to this I feel, such a great episode
It is for sure
Menu
knew id find others here that felt the same
0:07 they keep using this when something hits hard to Joel in the series
Listening to this intro makes you feel like if you were there
if i ever have kids, and when they get to the age, i honestly just want to sit down with them and play this game. like i know they might not like the same stuff i do, but the story, the character development, the soundtrack, the way it breaks your heart but also warms it. this game will stick with me forever
I can't stop listening to this music untill now.. 2019 any one else?

Here to cry after seeing the leaks...
here to cry even more, finding out the leaks were true.
Here to cry after joels death
Here to cry after knowing that the house at the ending of TLOU 2 is the same as this one
Tlou2 is heartbreaking but not for the right reasons. Fucking Druckmann...
I personally loved it
This game changed my whole perspective of gaming. It took me to another level of spirituality.
10 years later and im playing it again on PC , qoute to someone else in this comment section, it stayed longgggggg time with me
I never would’ve thought that 2013 could be nostalgic for me…
I would get on the main menu, volume up and just relax falling asleep
