    One thing not mentioned is the fact that Disney relies on massive lending to run their operation. Blackrock is blackmailing these companies with their ESG standards. While Disney deserves zero sympathy, the rot is so much deeper than just Disney.

      So true. Their movies/shows don’t make any money because the DEI makes them suck, but they can’t get the money to make them without the DEI. They’ve put themselves between a rock and a hard place.

    Love your video. I do not understand why companies are pandering to the very small percentage, bending the knee to them. Would it be common sense to please the core audience? The ones that are the main sustainment of the company? Seeing it in the gaming industries as well.

    • @ThePaladinJock

      Thanks and ya, it’s kind of wild. I think at first all these companies thought Star Wars, Marvel, AAA gaming titles etc, couldn’t fail no matter what. Then when they did, they tried tweaking it and have it be woke but also try to cater to both and by then people were already sick of it. Add onto to it the DEI requirements that they put on themselves and you restrict creativity and piss off your core fans. It’s been really crazy to watch multi-billion dollar corporations literally sign their own death sentences.

    The crap likely to come out of the Reedy Creek investigations and the EEOC complaints isn't going to help them much either. Marketing question: I've argued to others that interest in the parks will fade as the Disney movies and shows decrline in quality, because those movies and shows are what drive interest in the parks. Others tell me the parks will be fine, just like some amusement parks with no movie tie-ins. What's your opinion?

    • @ThePaladinJock
      @ThePaladinJock  3 месяца назад +1

      I think overall the "classic" Disney brand and nostalgia will sustain the parks, but not to levels we are used to. Universal's Harry Potter Wizarding World and now Super Nintendo World are putting Disney to shame. Now that they've lost control of Reedy Creek, they've lost the ability to limit resorts and hotels in the area. That was probably their greatest asset of the district, they controlled and decided every single thing that could be built. I think Star Wars Galaxy's Edge is a perfect example of what you were describing. At it's opening people were already complaining about the Sequel Trilogy being part of it, but the place was still packed. Now that interest in Star Wars has waned, you go there and it's a fraction of the people. Disney will probably have to return focus to their classic brands and IP's because like you said, the declining lack of interest in Disney's newer IP's are clearly effecting the parks and now their direct competition across town is stronger than ever. Not only is Universal clean, vibrant and amazing, but its a stark contrast and comparison to Disney's parks, that people can literally see.

      They keep sabotaging their classics with these awful live-action versions - Litle Mermaid, Peter Pan, and whatever that Snow White thing is going to be - so I'm not even confident their appeal will be strong. If I want to take the kids to see Little Mermaid at Disney World, which version wil be at the park, the cartoon version or the live action version? They are generating their own brand confusion. But I 100% agree the Universal park is going to kick the backside of Disney. Due to costs people will be choosing one or the other, and I'm guessing Disney will lose out most of the time. Cheers! @@ThePaladinJock

      That is the sad part, they are even undermining their classics. The future is in digital & interactive as well as full world immersion like Wizarding World and Disney is behind on both. Galaxy's Edge should have been every bit as good as the Harry Potter experience, but they had to bet on the sequels instead of just playing the Star Wars greatest hits for their Star Wars Land. They just can't get out of their own way. It's kind of sad and pathetic to watch, in a way 😂 Cheers 🍻@@guygadbois3010

      The parks could be fine without the movie tie-ins, **theoretically**... BUT Disney's corporate cancer has already metastisized to it's various sub-entities, at the parks the symptoms are grossly complicating admissions to the point you ALWAYS feel like you bought the wrong package no matter which one you buy. Even if they give you admission for FREE they've fucking ruined the magical world experience by making EVERYTHING you do from eating to rides, done through a fucking app. Disney used to be the place where you could go and forget about the real world and live in a place of magic. Now it's a place where you wait in a 3hr line for attractions less exciting than Universal, all while you're paranoid your phone will die and you'll be stuck with nothing to do, unable to eat at a restaurant, and the $400 you spent on admission won't matter to anyone. Obviously also increasing prices to pay for the consequences of creative leadership that fundamentally doesn't care what customers currently WANT - instead preferring to tell them what they want like that EVER ends well. They keep tearing down classic attractions, and they can't seem to build anything new people want to come for... ex Star Wars hotel, most famous example.

      @@robnobert I've heard a bit about the ridiculous pricing schemes; you need a real expert to find a way to get the best deal, and that best deal might still be too expensive. They forced out all the creatives that might have come to their rescue, so all that's left is ideologues whose only solution is more of their ideology . . . the problem is to be resolved by inserting more of the problem. It's the far left idea that the solution to bad government is more government, but this time its corporate oversight. Really, I don't understand why investors still have even a dollar left in Disney. F*ck around and find out, I guess. Cheers!

    12:30 I heard from a Reddit user long ago that some folks were giving George Lucas a hard time behind the scenes during the prequel era.

    • @ThePaladinJock
      @ThePaladinJock  3 месяца назад +1

      I take everything from Reddit with a large grain of salt and I’m sure there was some of that, but if you watch any of the “Making Of’s” for the prequels it’s literally a room of people sitting around going “Yes George.” “Ok George” “How should we do this George” and then when he leaves the room, they talk about what their actual ideas where and that includes Rick McCollum who was famously, basically just George’s “go-fer”: Either Nerdrotic or Chris Gore touched on this recently in a video too. So I’m just going off what I saw with my own eyes confirming the stories that were told. If you watch the parts where he’s ok’ing the art, it’s literally just people staring in awe, including Doug Chiang.

    • @ThePaladinJock
      @ThePaladinJock  3 месяца назад +1

      I think if anyone pushed back the most, it was Doug Chiang, but that was concept art. Larry Kasdan famously went toe to toe with George on Empire. There’s no stories of that around the prequels. Drinker touched on that recently as well. It was all well intended, I just think he needed someone with the actual authority and willingness to truly challenge. I still like the prequels, I just think they would have been a little better.

      @@Vanced-ii3bj Ya, I’ll take a look. Might take me a day or two but I’ll see if I can remember which one it was. The ultimate irony, that I should have put in my video, is that Kasdan became a “yes man” to JJ on the sequels. So I guess the sequels were screwed regardless 😂

      I’m doing the same thing. I had sold it given away some of my BluRay and 4K’s but I’ve been buying them all back. Cancelled Disney+ last month. Thankfully I have 2 Half Price Books and 2 Mega Media Xchanges by me that have used BluRays in like new condition. I’ll get a streaming service for a month here and there for making review videos but otherwise I’ve cut the cord and pretty much just watch RUclips

      Longtime Disney and Marvel fan SAMMY has announced that he is "done" with the two companies. In a shocking social media statement, SAMMY declared that he will no longer be watching any new releases from the studios. He specifically mentioned his dissatisfaction with the recent Disney movies and the "woke" and "LGBTQIA+" content that he believes is ruining the experience of watching movies.Instead, SAMMY stated that he will only be watching Disney movies from the 80's and 70's, 2000's and 2010's on Blu-ray and Marvel movies from the 2000's and 2010's to save Disney. He said he will no longer tolerate the studios' "agenda" and that he will be boycotting all new releases. This announcement has sparked a heated debate among fans, with some supporting SAMMY's decision and others accusing him of being intolerant and close-minded. It remains to be seen how the studios will respond to this growing controversy.
