I know telemarkski ingen from normal "forward" skiing. That mens with skiis measuring 86mm 64mm and 82mm. And when doing the telemarkturn you need far better technique than you need with slalomskiis. The slalomskiis will do the turning for you and many people don't use technique in order to make the turns. This video however, shows the technique verry well. It is by far the best instruction I've seen from someone using slalomskiis. The best instruction , in my opinion, can be found by searching for "fjellskiskolen". Check it out, even if you're using slalomskiis.
I'm sorry but this is a terrible take, to say that slalom skis do all of the turning for you is ridiculous, even if getting the skis on the edge allows them to turn the technique to increase edge angle stability, etc takes a lifetime to master, this is the reductionist take that harms new tele skiers. To say that skiers who have not used older skis do not understand the technique of telemark is crazy.

Most tele skiers have a strong and a weak turn at 2:06 you can see he is lifting his back ski on one turn but not the other which is usually a sign that's his weak side. When you lift your ski you are "cheating" the technique. You don't have to transfer edges as well. Is it the end of the world no, could you be better definitely. I tend to do this a lot towards the end of the day. The muscles get tired and as I mentioned above I start to "cheat". Something to watch for and work on as you get better.
Funny. I'm 66 and bumps is 80% of what I seek out....even on powder days. But, I stay out of the troughs to the extent that I can. Ski the mountain, if you stay in the troughs, the mountain skis you; it defines where you ski.
Try short poles and keep a tight stance- look ahead and generally keep the upper body facing downhill, hands forward. In tight bumps, turn down the backside and avoid slamming into the troughs. Tight stance is key- don't let that rear ski dangle around back there.

He was doing a training drill. ideally both skis on the snow.
