I’m living my professional guitar player’s dream vicariously through Tim. The closest I get to this is a 45 minute drive in my car, a stop at Dunkin Donuts and 50 people in a dive bar who could take or leave that there is a band playing…and it’s mostly leave.
Nice nice tone at sound check. To bad first song didn't get amplified! Those things happen. Thanks for all the information on your new venture for members. Good idea. Of course you should make some money from it. Live long and prosper!
Thanks Joe! Not sure if it’s linked correctly yet. I’m going to get it up tomorrow. Thanks so much for joining! Hope to bring a lot of cool stuff to it
Bro. You play so clean. So awesome to watch you and hear you get the tones dialed in during sound check. You are so versatile and your tempos are so solid. Sorry about the amp but glad you could keep rolling. Those solos are fire.
Dude, drive that amp and use your volume control. You will never look back. I’m not a member of ANY channel but I’m going to join yours. I’m an old dude now and you’re living the life I wish I had lived. I wanna help you to continue to live this amazing life. Also, please don’t fall into the RUclips trap of buying fancy cameras and going for huge production values. I love the phone videos, they are much more real. It’s what RUclips used to be and it was better back then in my humble opinion. It was much more accessible to the “average man”. Love your content and attitude mate. Cheers from Tasmania, Australia. Also, you can’t beat an AC30…as long as you don’t have to lift it 😂
Always have a backup. I never play anywhere without a backup for everything, cables, you name it. I’ve had guitars crap out, amps quit and have stepped on my cable and messed it up. Sounds like you figured it out pretty quick.
Tim, I just had a gig on Tuesday, the 27th, and right on the first song my wireless did not work. I checked all the cords and connections and tracked it down to a sound board line mute button that was stuck...😂.
I worked with another guitar player in a band who had a Strat, an AC 30, and pedals. It was THE worst combination I have ever had the displeasure of being on stage with. He could not find tones that were melodic and the worst was, he insisted on playing at a volume that was just unmercifully loud. It really soured me on the whole AC thing. This video has renewed my trust in ACs.
Ac 30 is a great sounding amp it needs to be driven right. Specially with a strat ( single coil pickups) It’s advisable to have an equalizer pedal as a booster (and/or the right fuzz or overdrive)
It’s the Indian not the arrow. Murphy’s Law is always in play with electronics, but the AC 30 is an excellent sounding amp in use since the 1960’s. It’s a workhorse if it’s maintained. Most players, however, play their gear until it craps out. Really good idea to have your amp guy do a thorough cleaning and check on all components annually during downtime. I’m sure Tim has someone who does this. Anyway, good maintenance will save a player from several on-stage (near) heart attacks. My .02 cents.
Man the frets on the DGT look SO great (recently had my PRS refretted some I'm hyper focused lol) another great video, thanx for bringing us along on the journey....that pelican case, u may have previously mentioned, is a 1615 air?
Hey Tim! Love your channel. This gig was right down the road from me but I was out of town so couldn’t attend. Looks like you might’ve stayed at Feather Falls Casino? I’ve played many shows there! I also hope North State AV took good care of you…other than the bad Vox. Best, Jack

Hey Tim, just like to let you know that the video picture is picture perfect.I get a kick out of your channel.I hope you get to play with Kenny Vaughn someday.Aloha from Hawaii!
Question! Do you guys take guitars on the plane as cabin luggage? I’m not flying a ton with guitar but have got some international gigs coming up and kind of stressing about flying with my guitar… Thanks Tim!
Only because I hate cables and cable management is huge for me... the drum mic cable loom could TOTALLY be routed under the kick and terminate behind the floor tom into the drop snake... I KNOW, I KNOW... no one off the stage is gonna see it buuuuuut... I see it! 🤣
Tim , I've had a spell where every time i went to a gig something would crap out , My equipment would work fine at home and sound great I'd get to the gig and it was like a curse . Murphy's law i guess ?
You do you, I don’t ever understand the negative comments, it’s your channel, for you, no one has to participate. Congrats on moving it up.
Thank you bill, I appreciate that!

lol, I think that’s most of us 😂
Thanks for taking us along. Like any professional, a lot of behind the scenes for a brief time on stage or in the spotlight.
You're right, glad you enjoyed it!
You also have the hx stomp xl so you are prepared for amp issues..just make sure you have a preset that is ready to go and you can use that.
Yes! They are a great back up!
I support Tim and the great discord content! :D

Your paid membership idea makes perfect sense. I'm excited about it.
Thanks john, excited to grow the discord!

Yep, you've got to be prepared for anything!!
Love the videos, Tim! Would you consider doing a video explaining exactly what a back line is? Thanks and keep up the good work!
Thats a good idea, sure thing! Thanks for watching!
Awesome, thank you!
Make the money brother. You are doing great!
Thanks joseph!
Played the HOB once, curtain opens, we hit this great all skate intro with big chords, except I forgot to close my volume pedal!!! HAHA....

Maybe not…as I just saw the part where it left you hanging on song 1.

it is a 1615 air! And yes the frets are absolutley killer on the DGT!

If you ever come to SoCal - I will be sure to come out to see you - I grew up near that area! Chico is a wonderful town
Hoping to make it down there sometime soon!

Hello Hawaii! I hope so too, thanks for watching!
Discord would be so freakin cool!!!!!! Keep me informed! I love the story...lol
I tried to come see your band....It was Butte County Fair in Gridley....I had a gig myself....so....But hell Yeah!!!
Having a gig is the best reason to miss a gig!
I swear by that Fulldrive 2 mosfet. In my 15 years of gigs, it's the only pedal that's never left.
It's a killer pedal!

walking into plane cabin with large gig bag where does that go during flight? too large for overhead bin?
Yeah, as the old expression goes ... inquiring minds want to know.
@@wmpopperthey can stash a guitar case in the coat locker in business class if you ask nicely.
@@onenotesolo256 I would have never known that...Thank you onenotesolo.🦋
so what's backlines policy if there equipment craps out during a gig... do they always provide more than one amp
We always oder 3 amps for backline, two that we use and one a backup/another option
@@TimAvenMusic Ya have to excuse my not knowing the terminology, I was thinking backline meant where ya got the amps/equipment from.
2:44 here in Australia, that’s what we call “muso food”. That’s gonna come back to haunt you in a few years 😂😂

Haha I'll suggest this next time!
Yes let’s fn gooo w/that membership!
Yo thank you!!
Do you have to buy a seat for the guitar ?
Either has to fit in an overhead bin or a flight attendants usually (if they are decent humans) allow you to stand it up in the first class closet.
Tim , I've had a spell where every time i went to a gig something would crap out , My equipment would work fine at home and sound great I'd get to the gig and it was like a curse . Murphy's law i guess ?
I've been there before, sometimes you just get unlucky a few times. Got to roll with the punches!
That Les Paul sounds great!!
Tim, your tone is pretty awesome as well. The guitar, pedal, and amp selection you use all work very well together.
Was I listening here to a Blink-182 "What's my age again?" guitar intro?
I think that was what he was playing haha
19:30 - working some Blink 182 covers into tonight’s set?
Was also not expecting "What's my age again?"
Nothing wrong with making money. We these haters grow up and have responsibilities they'll learn.
Haha true, thank yo!
You need an amp that goes to 11
Room to yourself? Man, you rate!
Hey Tim, I played a PRS for the first time the other day after watching one of your videos; great guitar. Thanks for all of the videos - Jim
