im certainly interested but being the ultra skeptic i am i'll wait until second opinion tests pop up that aren't from the actual company that no doubt wants to highlight and sell their product
Even tho he tested it with 4 differnt test
I just bought this and installed it in my ps5. Working amazing so far!
Can you guys post close up shots for the Sabrent heatsink, I can’t find more detailed pics for the heatsink covering all over angels, also I love your work, keep it up!
You can view it better in the video they posted a few days ago
@@EmJay0114 Ive seen it, not so much details
I installed it on my PS5 with the Samsung ssd. The heatsink comes with the thermal tape already on it. All I had to do to install it in my PS5 was remove the plastic strip off of the thermal tape and screw it in. The thermal tape contacts the ssd when you screw it into place. Just don't throw away the old ssd cover incase you want to change back in the future
I'll wait for an unbiased perspective on this before buying it.
@@brokenSnake this isn't against their guidelines tho 🤔
@@EmJay0114 they clearly state to leave the cover that came witht the ps5 ON
@@raulg9129 I don’t think Sony was accounting for a 3rd party coming up with design the would completely replace the original cover - and still allow a proper fit. Sabrent is within spec of the Sony’s design, just with a twist.
@@raulg9129 there is 0 airflow in that little compartment with the lid on. Not sure how there will be negative/possitave air presure with miniscule venting, that definitely wasn't well thought out by Sony. Granted I didn't stick a thermal probe on it to see the difference, I'm sure someone will at some point and we will know definitely.
@@justinchin0 sorry bro, but i trust sony more than a guy on youtube
How about a comparison of your heatsink on a Seagate Firecuda 530 vs there EK heatsink solution?
Definitely need to see this
I want to know this as well
I understand why you would want to see this, but why would they even remotely promote a different company's SSD tho?
@@EmJay0114 The same reason they compared there heatsink to a third party one. If there cooling method is truly the best method to cool the expansion ps5 ssd, which is what there claiming, prove the method against the best solution from one of the 1st party not a okay 3rd party heatsink. Show me Ford GT vs Ferrari 488 not Pinto vs Ferrari 488!🤔
@@battousai412 exactly. I made a similar point further up and on a another vid. Fc 530 looks insane. Dont care it costs more and happy to wait when they come available.
I hope ya have loads of stock of the 1TB ssd with heatsink bundle and ships overseas when I do get a ps5.
Also cant wait for tech people to test it next, 12% cooler on heavy games is greatly appreciated.
I pre-ordered but already installed the heatsink that Sony displayed because, I couldn't wait to use my ssd. So, I didn't have to keep deleting my games lol. I wish it came out sooner.
Same here
I am doing the same as a stop-gap until my Sabrent HS shows up.
Has anyone discussed using both? Or is that over kill?
Gotta test it on Rachet and Clank: Rift Apart. The only PS5 game so far that actually uses the PS5 SSD to the max.
Agreed
That's a good one. He could find a demanding area and run it 40 minutes.
13:18 8TB is not supported by the PS5. The current maximum is 4TB.
I've seen that also. I don't know why they limited this, with some games being almost 1/4TB each!! Sabrent was the company I was looking towards to give us the first 8TB 5500+ GB/S ssd, it looks like my assumption will be correct :)
I am interested, but I need more unbiased data/reviews
Looks promising. I currently have a MP600 with its heatsink on, then taped over with the 2 vent hole covers open using 3M 3340 tape. If NASCompares says this is better, I'll be ordering this to put on instead.
I just don't trust this being connected by just a thermal pad. Can't you just make a replacement cover?
@@brokenSnake Yep, but its also a heatsink.
Just sold me on this heatsink and pre-ordered one
Can you guys create a Usb c to m.2 for this drive to allow us to update our firmware if we use this in a PS5? I’m sure that you keep making improvements over time once you get your data back from the PS five owners and for motherboard owners. It would just be nice to be able to keep our firmware up-to-date super easy without losing any of our installs on the drive.
They have enclosures for m.2 to usb c.
If I use this Sabrent heatsink rather the cover that came with the ps5, can a SSD with built-in or 1st party heatsink be used along with the Sabrent heatsink like in this video??
Can the Sabrent PS5 Heatsink be used with a ssd from a different maker? I already own a Samsung SSD and I'm assuming it can.
How about doing that test with a ssd with stock heatsink instead of 3rd party ,thats my issue with this whole thing. Im trying to decide in between wd ssd with sabrent or just wd ssd with heatsink
Awesome video and huge thank you for taking the time to do a comparison test. Finally getting my Sabrent heatsink today and pairing it up with an S70 blade ssd.
Glad it helped!
Is that a good brand and has 2Tb proven to be enough?
@Biglover29 definitely getting the job done for me but you can get the WD SN850x or Samsung 990 Pro with a heatsink for great deals now. No problems with storage as well, 2TB is perfect for casual gamers.
Now if you would only ship the heatsink i bought from you, but no i gotta wait til the end of October before installing my Sabrent Rocket...FML
Will my Sabrent Ps5 heatsink fit in the new detachable-drive Ps5 "Slim" ?
does the escaping heat overwork the fan/ps5 internals (AKA CPU and GPU)
Hay Sabrent. Can you help me get in in Australia Please ! I’ve been waiting and there not available as your site won’t ship to me. I don’t want to buy a different one only yours please
What about a SSD with a first party heatsink comparison?
Is it normal for a ssd to say running out of storage If you have less then 100mbs on a 1tb ssd?? Is it defective? Any thoughts?
I have the Sab Rocket 4 Plus SSD , and their Heatsink, it’s amazing
Thats about 110-120degrees Fahrenheit thats pretty damn hot
8tb what would be the price on that? 10,000 maybe lol!
I preordered mine!!!!!! Woot!
Just installed this with wd blacksn850, 1tb ssd
What happened to the pre-order links? Not working.
Thank you for this I happy I pre ordered you guys are awesome.
I'm gonna go head and say the differences are marginal at best.
Placed my order last week for the 2TB combo
For all the skeptical people that listen to everything Sony tells them, NASCompares ran his own tests.
This was shown to always be cooler.
Does this works with the s70 blade
It works with s70 blade ?
should do sabrent vs sabrent . show us how the new heatsink compares to the old big chonky heatsink
The big one they have won’t fit because it’s too tall. That is why they had to make a new one I believe
@@osxgp your wrong , i use a 2tb 980 pro in my ps5 with the og sabrent heatsink . I just left the metal plate off mine and ive had no issues at all .
@@750katman Lol you're supposed to leave the plate on, that's why they say the heatsink won't fit.
@@mog_3825 exactly
@@750katman I’m not wrong about the heat sink being too tall to fit with the plate installed, hence why they created the heat sink plate. I’m sure the larger Sabrent heat sink works fine without the plate installed but given the lack of availability with the PS5 console and voiding the warranty by not using the plate, I’ll just wait until my Sabrent heat sink plate preorder arrives
I bought the sabrent rocket 4 plus then ordered the heatsink after. I didn't know there was a bundle... is the bundle cheaper?
It was when you added it all up together. I am in the same boat as you.
Got the 2TB. Great so far.
Amazing!!
You mention an 8tb coming out, but doesn't ps5 only support up to 4tb?
Good video! Already have that 3rd party heatsink, but I may buy that later on just because it's seamless and replaces the cover and I have the cover off anyway.
Not helpful and a waste of everyone's time. Please produce less of this type of content or upload to a personal channel.
The majority would disagree 🤦♂️
Does this hinder load times (games)? Mine arrived today but i'm worried it may mess up the ps5 loading games and load screen times.
I am planning on using Seagate FireCuda M.2 530 4TB Internal ssd without heatsink. But gonna use Sabrent M.2 NVMe PS5 heatsink cover. What you think??
I installed an XPG Gammix S70 Blade 2TB SSD in my PS5, but I wasn't impressed with the included SSD. it's basically just a very thin flat piece of aluminum with thermal tape. This had the best reviews on Amazon, so I grabbed it for $20. I'm very happy with it. I think it's a great design. It makes good contact with the SSD and I don't have to worry about the SSD cover. I'm pleased, no issues for me.
Not the best! I've seen there's better and it's noticeable. Elecgear shows much better results for cooling, but trying to get one is proving to be just as difficult as the ps5 itself. (Okay maybe not that bad but orders are already into March, at least mine is)
will the ps5 support a 4tb m.2 drive inside yet?
Just waiting a bit more. Wait for the prices to drop a bit more.
Also i don't have that much games yet for ps5.
I cant wait to get mine. Sorry but I did order a 980 pro cuz I got a great deal. But I will def try out the Rocket 4 down the road. Def looks like a banger.
I used this sab heatsink and a. 2 TB firecuda 530.. Seems. To work pretty good.
Can i use the Sabrent heatsink with a ssd that already has a built in heatsink ??
Or would that be over kill?
You can’t even pre order in the UK
Its coming soon as labelled in the description, we will post on our social media once it’s available in the UK and have a pinned comment on all our Sabrent PS5 videos sorry for the delay but thank you for your interest, we are working hard to get this in the UK asap
@@SabrentUSAOfficial thabk you for confirming
Can someone get a compatible SSD with a heatsink AND this heatsink together to keep it even cooler?
the thing is. why change up the plate if they both work why does it matter to go with this brand?
So that top plate cover gets replaced with this heat sink cover and if I get an ssd without a heat sink I’m good because that top cover works as the new heat sink that’s cool signed me up lol
So is this for any ssd card or only sabrent? And is this just a cover that acts like a heatsink or is it a heatsink that encompasses the SSD?
I been sold on the product soon as a I heard about it. For people who are scared/nervous to buy/preorder just buy it. It’s not like you spending a lot of money on a heat sink.
So This is a Heatsink and a Cover as far i could understand . So it seals completely just like the ps5 cover .
Please correct me if I'm wrong
will this heat sink work for Pilot E since it’s double sided ?
Will this heatsink design work with other NVMe SSD's like the WD 850 just curious. Or I'm pretty sure you're only recommending your own NVMe SSD
Can we update the firmware for the m.2 drive (Sabrent Rocket 4 plus) on our PS5 when it’s in this (USB 3.2 Type-C Tool-Free Enclosure for M.2 PCIe NVMe and SATA SSDs (EC-SNVE) ) USB enclosure?
nope, has to be inside a pc
Sadly enough, this doesn't seem to be available in Belgium... Also, i think the third part heatsink you showed was the Corsair one! 🤔🤪Oh and just one last thing: I don't think the difference between the build in heatsink from the WD SN850 is that much higher in price than the Sabrent heatsink. And with the SN820 you have the ease of use. But it's nice to have options!
I have that third-party heat sink that you have in your hand pitting it against yours. I have absolutely zero issues with that heat sink it does what it supposed to do the temperatures are pretty decent and the price is excellent and it was available before yours was. I’m still going to upgrade to the Sabrent but for the time it does the job.
What was the third party HS?
Sabrent need to send a sample to Hardware Busters!!!
No temperatures to worry about here move along.
Hi! I’m from the Philippines, and I was wondering where I can get the hearsink for my Playstation 5? Thank you and stay safe.
online from sabrent or ebay or lazada
I just got the bundle Sabrent heat sink cover with 1TB rocket. Hope that’ll suffice for now until I can get a 4TB! I just finally got a PS5 last week at my local GameStop. I’m not gonna wait for hard drive space to fill up like the lousy ps4! 🤦♂️
It took me 6 months here in the UK to get a PS5 and I was on a VIP list 🤦♂️ Glad you managed to pick up a PS5 and great storage upgrade, I filled my PS5 storage almost straight away!
I have a 980 Pro 1TB and aftermarket heatsink and it runs fine no issues. But this would be nice to have.
Will this work great with a wd black sn850 2tb
Sn850 non-heat sink version is like $60 cheaper. Paired it with this heat sink for $20. I’m interested in the elecgear heat sink. Ordered an elecgear but it doesn’t arrive for 3 months.
Did you strip the sticker off the ssd or stuck the sabrent heatsink on the ssd with the brand stickers on?
I've already bought one and I'm waiting for so I have to wait until November even though I ordered it in the beginning of this month
Yes you Pre Ordered it, hence the wait, shipments are coming to customers
Sony flat out said that the ssd Bay must be closed
I got my SSD and the heatsink.
any chance to buy it in uk?
It’s coming, very very soon 👀
I preordered 2 of them, 1 for each of my ps5s
@@brokenSnake and just how do you figure that dingus? Because I have 2 and you have none? I bought both of them for me and my fiancé to play together. Just because you can’t figure out how to buy one doesn’t mean others don’t. I also helped my cousin buy his. I kept every ps5 I have bought, my cousin kept the one I helped him get. Try again loser.
That’s awesome Dragon Fire! And don’t worry about saifMSK, think he is a troll 😉
@@SabrentUSAOfficial thanks, I’m excited to try out a better heat sync for my ps5, the one I have now is not cutting it. Deathloop freezes after 20-30 min of play on the nvme drive right now
@@dragonwind5117 dang what kind of heat sink you get I got a temporary ekwb until the sabrent heat sink releases it was a bitch to put together but everything runs good however the screw stripped so I need a replacement and just put it in halfway
I am always skeptical on comparison/test videos by vendors themselves as this can be biased. I have preodered this + a third party (VERY similar to the one he presented) and looking forward to doing a test myself. One potential issue i see with the Sabrent may be the amount of space and airflow that could be impeded due to the integrated cover design versus others. Im also worried about the loose nature of the "thermal pad sandwich" that the sabrent heatsink has
Any results yet?
Any idea when stock will be replenished on Amazon UK?
i put a sabrent ssd and heatsink in my ps5 at first it worked but next day the ssd is absent form my storage has something bad happened yo my ssd
I doubt it as many people are using this SSD with the PS5 without issues, but which heatsink are you using? Are you using the Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus? Have you made sure the SSD is inserted correctly? Maybe the PS5 didn’t format the drive correct? For any issues please contact support and they will be able to help you, I haven’t had any issues with mine and I’ve been doing heavy testing with the beta and public release, I’ve definitely been more heavy on this SSD than most with no issues! But please send our support team a message and they will help you 😊
Would this work with the Samsung pro 2TB ssd or is it meant for ur ssd
We recommend using our SSDs but it will work with third party SSDs too
@@SabrentUSAOfficial ok so want to install this heatsink / cover anyway to remove the ssd and third party heatsink without corrupting the files in the ssd since i will be removing it ?
@@leo2o915 you do not need to remove the SSD to install this heatsink as long as your SSD doesn’t have built in heatsink. If you need to remove the SSD then it should be fine but of course we can’t guarantee that as it’s PlayStation software but I have removed it like 10 times+ for photos and testing and I didn’t run into any issues
@@SabrentUSAOfficial yeah have a heat sink on it
Cannot wait to get this one day when i have the $$
Is it possible to remove the SSD once this heatsink is on? How would you move the m.2 to a 45 degree angle? Thx for letting me know!
You can remove the SSD. It’s just the opposite of fitting the heatsink. The thermal pad is non adhesive so it’s non destructive
@@SabrentUSAOfficial thx
We need more stock, XD I suppose, we all know it is a good product, but when can we have it, yes, no stocks or worldwide shipments 😭
How about a regular heatsink with the ps5 ssd cover off? Wouldn't that be as good as the Sabrent heatsink, since both are exposed to the fan airflow?
You are exposing more dust in the expansion slot by taking off the PS5 SSD cover and just running another heatsink and according to tests ( not just our own but even from other reviewers) its not as good.
@@SabrentUSAOfficial Isn't the whole internals exposed to dust anyway? Vent holes everywhere. As long as SSD is within operating temp(0 - 70 Celsius) should be ok right?
No preorders in the UK and no release date?
Would def buy if u could buy it outside th states.
Still no word whether it's good for non-Sabrent SSD's
As long as the controller is on the top then this will be good for all m.2 ssds
Would this make the internal temp of the PS5 hotter since it sucking in hotter air ?
No more than the negative pressure, both methods will do the same thing.
This is an interesting idea. Cheers.
Just ordered one 😎
I would love a Sabrent Xbox Series NVMe Enclosure /Dock for the Back Port on the Xbox Series X/S that allows me to Plug 'n Play NVMe Drives that meet or exceed the Speeds on Xbox Expansion cards in the PCIe Gen 4 spec.
And when you make this device, don't pay me, just send it to me for free 😎.
So an extra 4 inches sticking out the back of the console? Lol
With standard heat sinks there is usually a thermal pad on both sides of the m.2 but with this version there doesn’t seem to be.
you dont need thermal pads on both sides when the controller is only on one side.
ok this Heatsink is great for single side ssd
but how about the double side ssd,how you applying thermal in down side and how you’ll cooled?
Watch our other video linked in the description which explains why double sided SSDs don’t need the same level of cooling as the controller on the top. The second side is NAND and if you understand about NAND, you know it likes to be run hotter, as cooling it too much can cause memory issues plus the PS5 is mainly using read operations which generates less heat than Write operations.
If I'm not ready to get a ssd yet, can I replace the cover with the new heatsink and leave no ssd inside and be ready when I do have enough funds?
I would wait till ready.
How do I pre order? The Amazon UK site won't let me do so...
As mentioned in the description, it is coming soon, we are sorting out logistics but I will have a pinned comment once it’s available, sorry for the delay
Good explanation video
This is GENIUS!
Thank you for posting this!
the problem with sabrent heatsink, is that as i´ve read, it don´t cool the other side on double sided nvme discs, and that will be a problem, yes, the controller is the most hot piece and it is cooled properly on the sabrent heatsink,, but the memory on double sided nvme it is also hot and this sabrent nvme don´t cool it
Please watch our Q&A video 😊
Well, did you watch the other video yet?
Finally lets goo i already pre order btw
When will it get released in UK?
Pre-order for Germany please 😊
