I just got this video recommended on yt. You managed to talk the whole video without actually showing the game, gameplay, art, etc. of the game. I’d have liked to see what you’re actually talking about. Currently im not near a wishlist button, so until I get to do so, I’ll probably have forgotten about it.
Your stats are quite clear, people like what they see, they like the gameplay, feedback is positive, only getting it out to interested people is the problem. So take any chance to show the game and promote wishlist or sales.
I know you made a few bucks now, but you failed to mention the current price tag, sale price, the price people suggested instead and ask your audience if they’d agree or what’s their take on the price tag is.
You’ve got a nice and calm demeanor, so listening to you is easy, just show what you worked hard on and promote your work for future audiences. ❤

Thank you very much! Fully agree I should have put more of the gameplay into the video (my girlfriend said the exact same thing after I showed it to her after uploading 😆) - I will definitely be uploading a more game centric videos very soon which will show much more gameplay 🙌🏽

Glad to hear that it's gone well! I really enjoyed it, it's a great game.
I have no idea how to make a game, it seems like a gargantuan task, so people being able to make games is always impressive to me. Good luck on any future projects!

Hi, I'm new here and only just found out about your game yesterday when RCE (Real Civil Engineer) released his video on Tile Lands (Very curios to see if that had an impact and how much).
I'm just starting to get into game development myself and I've got a lot to learn, but seeing this sort of thing behind the scenes is great, thank you for this video, I wish you all the best and cant wait to see what you come up with next 😀

Hey there! Thanks for watching, I’m really glad you enjoyed the look of the game and that you’ve found this video inspiring 😁 the RCE video has had a huge impact, just since it went up we’ve sold about 370 copies of the game and gotten a whole bunch of really positive feedback to help make the game better and better 🙌🏽
I wish you all the best in your game dev journey, it’s a fun one to be on and hopefully my channel will continue to be a help to you as you progress 🥳

Great video, thanks! I enjoy how this is a smaller scope, smaller budget game release post mortem. Much easier to relate to than so many of these type of videos I watch where the dude is like, 'So launch day came and we only had 12,000 wishlists so we were a bit worried about sales....'

Your game has some nice vibes, the art style plays in its favour I feel: clear, readable, with a relaxing colour palette. Now I wonder about how it plays. Wishlisted.

Thank you thank you! I think it might have converted a small handful though mostly has helped with having just hit 1000 subscribers yesterday 🤩 (very excited and very grateful)
We have had a large uptick in sales yesterday courtesy of a new video from RealCivilEngineer covering the game which has been suuuper exciting - from posting at around 5pm BST yesterday to now, that video has converted roughly 200 additional sales for the game which will likely settle around 10-25 sales a day for the next week or so if it matches a similar proportional rate to the Olexa video I mentioned - hopefully those stats are interesting/helpful!

I have 2 video games I have started but haven't brought myself to finish because I'm hung up on the idea that there are too many games on the market and I don't want to be a part of the video game addiction craze these days. I know I live in a bubble with these views for sure and I also know that the type of game matters to this argument. For example a lot of the games I want to make, there aren't many of this style created so it gives me some incentive, but I really don't want to hurt people by adding to the issues of being glued to technology.
With this being said, I would really appreciate any input from others on this topic, and much respect to you Shiba Dog Studios for making this game and video. This is in no way a slight towards you and I find your wholesome take on explaining the creation of your game to be very refreshing.
Any opinions are welcome truly. I know I live in a bubble and am projecting my own issues, so outside input will be very helpful. Ty and have a good day

I may not have much right to comment on this, My game development journey is only just taking its first steps now, but i have been a consumer for many a years now.
The people who get unhealthily addicted to video games unfortunately would already be addicted to them without your games, and if you don't release yours then they would still be in the same situation, or would become addicted to the next one that is not yours.
I don't think you would be adding any harm to the ecosystem of gaming by releasing yours, especially for the very reason you point out over saturation of the market.
On the other hand, I think you could actually help a lot more people, especially if you are making games in a more niche area.
focus on what sort of experience you can give people, enjoyment that you can bring into this world that otherwise wouldn't exist without you sharing you passion with people.
In the end, release something your proud of, something that you would be happy to se someone experience.
It doesn't need to be the next blockbuster hit, or be super polished. It just needs to be enjoyable and will hopefully bring a smile to someones face.
I for one, cant wait to see what you come up with 😃

I saw your game from Real Civil Engineer. I definitely comitted to the purchase because it was so cheap. I probably would have hesitated at a higher cost.
I like how it reminds me of board games.
I think it'd work great on mobile. IDK how much development time it would take to release on Android and iOS, but I think you should, even without leaderboards or alternative tile art. I'd price it least a $1.50 higher because of the cut Android and iOS takes.

    • @ShibaDogStudios
      @ShibaDogStudios  8 месяцев назад +2

Hey thanks! Good to know your thoughts on cost, it was interesting doing the RCE video because the version from the video was almost a month and a half old by the time the video went out so it’s not necessarily a perfect representation of the game as it is 😅 but nevertheless I’m still incredibly grateful
I’m still definitely eager to get it on mobile, unfortunately I can’t charge more for it because of how steam is (they get real funny about selling games for a higher value on other platforms) so would likely remain the same - that said, steam takes a 30% cut of revenue anyway which I don’t think is as bad as Google play or the App Store though I may be wrong

@@ShibaDogStudios makes sense. If you ever come out with more tile sets in terms of function as opposed to skins. Then the game definitely should be priced higher.
