Very nice! I think the duel shocks on the back would improve the overall look as well as function. Love those wheels and tires. She's really tough-lookin' now.
Well done, nice attention to detail. I agree, about the rear shocker is to stiff & maybe a little short as the rear looks to low. I wonder, if you could fit a longer oil filled shocker on the rear? Cheers
I have one of them the spur gear is stripped out tried making a 3d printed one but it still stripped it out and don't know where or how to getting one for it. Any suggestions 🤔
@@LukesVintageRC thanks!! Just made the purchase! Now what tool or procedure would you recommend to install the gear on the new motor? I’ve been trying to see that process on your videos, don’t know if you’ve filmed that yet. Please let me know. Thanks, and keep up the awesome work!👍🏼
So I would luv to gone more in-depth but the algorithm shows time is crucial for viewership. But I had some RUclipsrs slow the videos 2 of these to do their own and theirs turned out awesome. Thanks tons
I love it. I have one that needs the same treatment, however just can't finish as well as you. Please please please will you make a brushless Nikko Dictator? I have about four in parts and need some inspiration.
The gears in these were tougher than the Nikko and Tyco versions. Radio shack always over built things. Their version of the qd midnight pumpkin has a much better design of the gear set than the original brittle Tamiya design
Howdy, I believe it’s futaba 25 spline package from about 30 years ago it NOS stuff I have but Tamiya has a kit too it’s TAM50204 works. Thanks for watching I believe in or around 10 min mark I go over the steering bits. Thanks be sure to check Prt 1 of this and there’s also golden arrow video too. I’m always putting new projects up. Thanks again.🙏
@@LukesVintageRC Much appreciated! Yeah, I've watched these videos a couple of times waiting for mine to come in the mail. Thankfully, it came today; sadly, it needs work. Still, fun project so no complaints on my end!
Hi Luke, I like your decals and wondered if you could tell us how we can make them please. I just got my hands on a red arrow and it is in a sorry state.
Another great refit!! Looks awesome!🤘 How'd you find those rims and getem to addapt?? Just curious... I'm gunna start working on my tsauro xs here soon. I was thinking of upgrading those also.. i have 4 of those 6 desert vipers 6 tamija blackfoots a 2 tsauro zs and 3 nomads lollll. Youe vids are great man thanks.
Hi sir, ebay is best bet. The hubs are the issue as shown and stated in video. Just make them like I did nothing to it just watch the whole video. Rims are Tamiya fast attack vehicle. Thanks for watching✌️
Hello, firstly thank you for watching. The stock pinion is a 10 tooth design. I also did a golden arrow. Along with many many other rc cars. Thanks again.
@@LukesVintageRC very welcome, and thanks so much!! I will use a 10t pinion from Tamiya. Almost always the pitch is 32 like Tamiya. It saves having to take the gear off the stock motor. Sometimes they just don’t want to come off. I damaged a gear pulled trying it once😅
I've been binge watching your videos. After watching this and the Golden Arrow video, I think you are the perfect person to ask some questions about a possible project I'm planning. I have a Golden Arrow/Lobo and i want to replace the pressed collars that hold the front end and transmission on. I see the Red Arrow has a bolt and nut. Will this fit the Golden Arrow? Is there anywhere i can find the parts or make them from available bolts and nuts? Also, is there a way to put a bolt and nut or nut on the shock tower to make them easier to remove instead of that pressed fitting? Again is there an off the shelf solution or custom one that would work?
Jason unfortunately there’s no real true fit Hobby grade perfect made parts. It’s all experimental. Your best bet is to sell and repurchase another one in better condition. eBay. Thanks for watching many more videos ahead.
Lol hay give me back my red arrow been missing scine junior high man its looks really good just change the motor and make it brushless and upgraded parts it’s a win win situation 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲

I got one of these for Christmas of 1988 or 1989, I don't remember the exact year. It was so much fun!
Awesome, thanks for sharing
Impressive speed you achieved out of that simple car
Pretty good runner honestly. 👍
I guessed 26, 30mph, not bad! Doubled the speed! Nice build!
30mph was a lot faster than I thought it would go , I thought the stock gears and pinion would limit it . Another great job .
Hi sir, i thought same but all seems great. No problems with 30 but some RUclipsrs have done 43 mph but I don’t know if those survived. Thanks 🙏
Another classic brought back to life! Great stuff!
Thank you sir 🙏
I got this for Xmas that year. My brother got the gold arrow because he was more loved
Awesome sir. I also did a video on the radio shack golden arrow. A truly fun time be sure to check it out.

Hi sir, yeah you could do a longer shock but a slight body mod would be necessary and the pivot point would need modded. Thank you 🙏
