I think it's detail related. Mobile guys have a flat, a customer has a flat. The jump box is also a good idea for mobile guys. There's a customer with a dead battery or they have issues. Two items for vacation as you mentioned mobile detailers should also have. Great demo. You always make people think.
Excellent test. I already bought one and wanted toi see how it worked compared to the old one and this video did the trick. I always hunched over the car trying to fill the tire. I think it's great that they fixed that issue. The issue about being a few PSI off doesn't seem to be a big problem since you can just set the inflator to stop a few pounds above. Thank you. I hope it lasts years like the old one.
Great find Brian, I can use my battery from when I bought the Heater . Nice watch face lol. Hope the shop is coming along. Can’t wait to see the update.
I bought the Ryobi P731 when it came out years ago and used it at work for a couple of cars and the Maintenance Dept ordered 5 for their workers the same day. They and I are still using them. Thanks for the heads-up and I just ordered this one because of your video. Arriving Dec 27th from HomeDepot. Today is the 20th of Dec.
That 5 minutes on 5 off is called the duty cycle. The motor and hose are rated for the 5 minutes worth of heat buildup. This is how most inflators die. Personally I got the milwaukee one because that thing is just a monster when it comes to inflating anything high pressure. Not only is it a 20 minute duty cycle (20 on 40 off) but it has about a 6x inflation rate as this. It would of had that tire to 55psi in 2 ish minutes. But I'll likely pick this up for my commuter, which has tiny tires at 32 psi
I gave up on telling people about the duty cycle, let them burn out their inflator. There is an instruction manual provided but who needs an instruction manual for an inflator, right?
Purchased a Ryobi inflator/ deflator a few years ago. Set the digital readout for pressure desired. Only used it once on a halve flat tire and did not take too.long. Use the deflator on kids portable 8' long swimming pool.
Awesome review Brian!! I dont care if its detailed related or not.. I like that it's a proper review on a very general item that everyone can use.. I like this kinda stuff.. Keep um coming man!!!👍🏻
Thanks for reviewing this product Brian. I've been looking at these for a few months now trying decide which one to purchase. I wanted to get one of these for use at home since I don't have compressed air. For $40, that's a great price.
Great video Brian. I have a couple Ryobi inflators but really like the size of that one to carry in the Chevy Bolt EUV.. have to manage the space or lack there of.
The handheld one I bought in 2019 just died. I had a nail in a tire and had to wait for new tire so I was airing it up every day and it finally just smoked and died. I should have let it rest after every couple of minutes. I wanted to buy the same one again at Home Depot but they don’t carry it anymore so I bought the one in this video and I’m glad I did. In addition to all the other benefits I can now leave the battery in the inflator inside my vehicle. Because I was afraid any sudden movement might trigger it to go on and kill the battery, or worse, fire.
I bought the battery and this Ryobi and the total was $64. I ordered today after watching this video 12/20/24 so the price is even better now. Still $24 for the Inflator also
@ yeah, I use the P731 all the time and I'm looking forward to getting this one next week and I remember when Home Depot had this on sale probably nine years ago and it came in a set with a Ryobi drill and I think I bought both for $56 when it was on sale as a set and they both came with batteries and it's good to see you advertising them because in my opinion they're underrated so I appreciate your video
Going to have to get this! I do love my very reliable Ryobi pistol inflator one like you used to have and had the same drawbacks with the trigger and being 2-3psi off. I would definitely make the upgrade for that price!
The Milwaukee inflator is amazing! It's a little more expensive but man is it quick! And Home Depot usually has a deal, buy 2 batteries and a charger and get a tool for free. My father in law just got one and loves it.
@@schmedrock313 I’m sure it is but this video isn’t about Milwaukee tools. When you already own a lot of RYOBI tools and batteries it makes sense to stay in the same tool line.
@FABAutomotiveDetailing oh I know. I get that. I have ryobi as well and debated buying that inflator. I just had experience with the Milwaukee one so I was just throwing that out there.
This is a great product from Ryobi. It works amazing. Plug the pump on your tire, most cars will use the defaul 35psi it is set to, just press start and let it do its job. You can see the psi your tire has when it is turned on and when it hits the psi you set it to (or the default 35 if you use that) it will shut off automatically. On a 25" tire that was fully flat, it fully inflated it in about 3-4 minutes and barely even uses any power on the battery.
I know that the highest the pump goes is 160psi, but what is the lowest setting that it will go? I have a reverse osmosis storage tank that needs to be set at 7psi, but I cannot find information about the lowest setting.
I love the inflators Brian. I've had the Ryobi dual inflator for years. I use it more than any tool. It also has auto shutoff. What battery jump box do you recommend?
As a part time woodworker/full time architect, I know that the original Reeohbee tools were sound. Since they ended up as a corporate merger, they not the same. They are sisters of Milwaukee and Ridgid all made in China. You can still get MIJ Ryobi tools if you order online. After all of that, there seems to be a major innovation shift with Mil and Ryo. I don't own any Ryobi tools as I usually bty Makita but for $89 for a air pump and battery/charger it's a steal. I'd just like to know how long their batts hols a charge? As you mentioned, I carry a noco power pack. Using jump leads is a pita! I think I'll take a punt on one of these things as my rear tyres will trigger the tpms in cold weather and sometimes on their own. By the time I get to a petrol station with a decent air pump, my tyres are warm. Nice review mate and that car you show in the beginning had a polish I could shave looking at it.
Thank you! Once the batteries are charged I’ve had some sitting for months and stay fully charged. I’ve had the same batteries for 5 years and they are still going strong.
I'm looking for something like this for off road use. I have a Smittybilt inflator that I connect to my battery but I would love to not have to do that. I need to go from 16 psi to 32 psi. Currently I can do that is 2 min per tire. I would love to use Ryobi since we have batteries. The Milwaukee one gets great reviews, but I would have to also buy batteries and a charger.
Do you have to keep checking when battery still have power every 10 days after fully charge for example since you don’t know when you are going to have a flat tire while on the road? That’s too much hassle to remind yourself don’t you think? Would it still better to get a cigarette lighter connect car inflator instead. Clearly this is only handle if you are at home or on vacation.
Very cool. I was gonna buy a fancy streamlined rechargeable lithium inflator to keep in my saddlebag (motorcycle), but that one looks light enough. Thanks!
