I love the GameCube. It’s actually the only retro console I have today where I have the original games I bought back when they first released. They are all US imports, and the only reason I still have them is because places like CEX or Gamestation wouldn’t take them due to being imports, so I ended up keeping them. I’m so glad now that was the case!
My GC Top-15: Splinter Cell (CT/PT), Resident Evil Remake, Beyond Good & Evil, Resident Evil 4, Zelda TP, 007 Nightfire, Viewtiful Joe, Prince of Persia (1/2), Beach Spikers, Baten Kaitos, Rogue Squadron 3, Burnout 2, Metroid Prime (1&2), Aggressive Inline, Killer7. Beyond Good & Evil is possibly the most special game of them all. Just played the Xbox HD version again. You gotta love Jade, Pey’j and Double H.
Man, the GameCube was my first home console and one me and my brother spent thousands of hours on. We spent so much time on TimeSplitters 2, playing various types of multiplayers (Mexican Mission for the win), story co-op and even creating our own stories with the map creator. Smash Bros Melee that we completed twice just for the sake of it, Mario Kart of course, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle (that we actually 100% together 10 or 12 years later on the Steam version), F-Zero GX... Def Jam Vendetta was also a classic, and we played a lot of Mario Party as well. And then, on the solo side, there was StarFox Adventures, Mario Sunshine, Metroid Prime, Zelda Wind Waker and Ocarina of Time! Oh the memories... Nostalgia will always put this console as number one in my heart!
what i love about the gamecube is that all the GOOD GAMES happen to also be the popular ones! i grew up with most of these titles! for a console without a digital storefront, thats quite the feat.
Most underrated Nintendo system of all time besides the Wii u. Put just as many hours into the GameCube as I did the original Xbox when they came out and almost as much as the ps2. I was hooked from Luigi's mansion. Awesome channel bro. Subscribed.
Always love good GameCube discussion. Probably my favorite console due to nostalgia and because it has a wide variety of strong entries to major Nintendo IPs. It's also always great to see Star Fox Assault getting some recognition. One of the best stories in a Nintendo game period.

Great video! I can relate to your regret for selling your console and games. I “quit” gaming several times in the past and sold my collection on craigslist for cheap each time. I’ve since bought those same consoles again but getting the game discs that I sold is slow going. Which is why if anyone asks they should sell their console for money to buy newer console, I advise against it! At least you have a GC collection. I started mine last year and the game cartridges are expensive!
My cousin got SSX Tricky on the Gamecube after he got one and I love it. It was so fun. I was not so much into any other SSX game at all. But SSX Tricky was amazing.
I'm convinced they haven't made another F-Zero since GX because it's impossible to improve on perfection. Resident Evil 4, Rogue Squadron II, Capcom Vs SNK 2 EO, SoulCalibur II, Luigi's Mansion, the two Zelda games and Animal Crossing were games that got a lot of love back in the day from me. It's a shame more recent Animal Crossing games don't have unlockable games in them like the GC version. Oh Nintendo, how you spoiled us (I guess they prefer to make money from these old games nowadays). I also played a lot of Crazy Taxi and Skies of Arcadia. I know those games are more associated with the Dreamcast, but they would still be in my top 10.
I played a bunch of Mario Kart 64 and Wii, but never played double dash much in its time. When I finally tried the game I was surprised to feel how awkward the karts controlled, and could never really get into it. I'd love to try it out again and get used to the controls because I love all the double dash tracks that made their way to the later games!
My personal favorite from the GameCube are Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness/Smash Melee - #3 Metroid Prime 2 - #2 Metroid Prime 1 - #1 If you couldn't already tell, the Metroid Prime series is my favorite video game series ever.
I was in my last year of high school when the console released and I got Sonic Adventure 2 and Rogue Squadron 2 with it. Over the 1-2 years me and two friends in sixth form shared a save file between ourselves to work at completing different challenges. We eventually got all 180! My biggest contribution was adding a chao that I had raised since Sonic Advance to get the light chao/races emblems. I never tried it myself but Mario Kart can also do 8 player if you use the Ethernet modem and connect the consoles together.
I've actually been talking to a friend about getting the boradband adaptors and cables to do the 8 player double dash thing! Will definitely do a video if we ever get it working! :D
It would be good to see someone do 8 player double dash! I did buy the adaptor when it came out but haven't ever gotten to properly try it. I even bought PSO but didn't properly play that until the PC version a couple of years ago.
Paper mario, mario party 5, zelda 4 swords adventure, zelda wind waker, super smash bros, 007 agent under fire, super mario sunshine, super monkey ball 2, spongebob battle for bikini bottom, f zero gx, fire emblem, sonic adventure 2 battle, star fox assault, animal crossing, are some of my favorites. I haven’t played video games since 2000 didn’t own a game cube. I never had the money or timeline has been stressful. Now at 40 life is easier. I also never had kids so didn’t get to live through them. I’m going to go back and play all these games I missed out on. 😎🙌🏻

We have such a similar love for Sonic Adventure 2! It's also my favorite GameCube game...and a lot of that stems from it was the only game I had for a few months. On top of that, I didn't have a memory card, so the amount of times I have played City Escape has to be in the 100s 😂 I also 100% agree on Animal Crossing. A lot of times when I'm editing videos I'll just put on the original Animal Crossing music and it just makes me so happy and at peace. Great list!!

I have good memories of Pro Skater 4 - first one i played - just remember clicking wirh it and putting combos together and with yhat soundtrack it was RAD!! Sadly didn't know about Animal Crossing at the time so New Leaf was my first, played it for a couple of hundred hours. Double Dash was super annoying to me!! FZero was amazing - soooo fast. The Cube stilll looks fantastic to this day. Burnout was great and the system sellers for me were Rogue Squadron 2 and of course Luigis Mansion. I always thought Mario Sunshine was an excellent game. Wind waker didn't do it for me back then, but i'd maybe play it again to see what i thought if it's ever on a system i own. Have a good weekend! 🎈🎈🎈🎈

And probably of the series apart from odyssey I also have good memories of Smugglers Run played that alot The Star Wars games were all great but rogue leader was amazing and still is. Oh also lord of the rings were brilliant we still go back to them at least twice a year. Doshin the giant I rented and I remember I liked it but never owned it to put alot of time into it, and I just can't afford to buy it now. Well I could keep going on about games for the cube as I love the system and think it's got so many great games and it was good to see someone showing love for Billy and super monkeyball but I do prefer 2.

Iv not played enough of the Zelda games but this one does interest me more I think, I only ever played AC new horizons on switch I haven’t played an earlier instalment from the series as at that age it wasn’t for me at the time. I loved the original TOny Hawks 1 & 2 and even enjoyed all the newer ones but I missed the middle ones out like 3 and 4 you mentioned in this video so I still check them out. I wonder if you played Grand Tourismo 2 ? Would you still prefer N4S underground 2 to GT2 both were the best of there kind for sure! Fzero X I never played the last one and as it’s expensive I think still I may not be able to 😂

I've wanted Billy Hatcher since it came out but for whatever reason never got round to it Double Dash along with SNES original are by far my favourite in the series F.Zero is one of my favourite ever games, the SNES is my favourite but they are all great, I wonder if Nintendo have abandoned it because there is limited scope for character IP possibilities compared to the Mario universe and so less profitable Wind Waker is the best looking Zelda ever for me, cell shading is wonderful and just how gaming should be, bright colourful and super cool. I agree with the animal crossing theory. Animal crossing games seem to look better but don't have the same substance. There's no challenge and therefore no motivation to play them. Still will play the original over the newer versions.
I fell for a GameFAQ rumour. there was cheat code for Tomb Taider 2 that removed all of Laras clothes, I was 8 years old and I entered that code at least 20 times! 😅
I've actually been meaning to play a few of these! However I do agree that Melee and Double Dash are fantastic and so much filun to play with friends! 😁

You mean when the ship spins around? It’s an attack used to try and knock the opponents off the track, you can also use the Z button to shunt from side to side to try and attack them too.
I like Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance a lot. About ten years ago I got into Animal Crossing. I liked it and it took up quite a bit of my time. After a while I had already collected everything I wanted but kept playing. Eventually I realised it was more of an escape from reality and that the game didn’t help me find real meaning, so I quit. Still, well constructed and I like Nintendo‘s pre-Virtual Console approach with having the unlockable NES games in it. Every new entry is inferior since they lack that feature!
New Leaf was my first Animal Crossing game and I LOVED it. Later on I got Let's Go To The City on the Wii and I got New Horizons on launch day. However, New Horizons really disappointed me so I go back to New Leaf instead
You'll see at the end of the month, i'm doing it in my own way so I don't ruin the channel! Promise it will be worth it, and it's still a challenge for me!

animal crossing wild world was my first and it has such a cool and chill style but new leaf was good with a lot of content and new horizons is pretty bad compared to all the others unless they can add more stuff back like the puzzle challenge

Gamecube was a great console. Loved F-Zero GX and the Metroid Prime games. And, imo, Wind Waker was better than all but Ocarina of Time.

I think everyone fell for the San Andreas one with big foot, but I for sure spent so many hours in the woods looking for one.

Beyond Good & Evil is a wonderful Port. PS2 Version was pretty sluggish🤔

Ohhh thats how you get them! I never managed to beat the story missions on anything other than Normal! They get crazy hard!

You mean when the ship spins around? It’s an attack used to try and knock the opponents off the track, you can also use the Z button to shunt from side to side to try and attack them too.
I like Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance a lot.
About ten years ago I got into Animal Crossing. I liked it and it took up quite a bit of my time. After a while I had already collected everything I wanted but kept playing. Eventually I realised it was more of an escape from reality and that the game didn’t help me find real meaning, so I quit.
Still, well constructed and I like Nintendo‘s pre-Virtual Console approach with having the unlockable NES games in it. Every new entry is inferior since they lack that feature!

New Leaf was my first Animal Crossing game and I LOVED it. Later on I got Let's Go To The City on the Wii and I got New Horizons on launch day. However, New Horizons really disappointed me so I go back to New Leaf instead
I have a GameCube with almost every top game I refuse to pay the super high animal crossing prices and fire emblem and pokemon lol

animal crossing wild world was my first and it has such a cool and chill style but new leaf was good with a lot of content and new horizons is pretty bad compared to all the others unless they can add more stuff back like the puzzle challenge

Great list of games. Im surprised you didn't put sunshine or metroid or Luigi mansion on here. This list was a breathe of fresh air. My cousin loved sonic adventure 2 also. I remember getting it on dreamcast not to long after dreamcast was gone. Great video really enjoyed it

That's such a devastating story about your SA2 save file. Are all 3rd party gamecube memory cards doomed to corrupt? I never had one as a kid but I have one right now, so far so good..
