Thanks for the update. I ordered the platinum housing 2 weeks ago and now the seller tells me that the housing is not compatible with iPhone. I understand from the comments that it can have some issues with black corners on the 0,5 lens but does the platinum comes with an insert for iPhone or not since they don’t recommend it for iPhone? I currently own a iPhone 12 Pro Max but will probably upgrade to a never iPhone version in the future.
With Apple announcing the iPhone 16 Pro Max today being a different size from previous versions, any idea if the Platinum housing is still NOT recommended? Or any idea when DiveVolk might update their Platinum housing for us iPhone users?
@bigpodb very good question. I was just chatting to DiveVolk about this this morning. They still don’t recommend the platinum housing with the iPhone 16 Pro models as they will have the same issues as other iPhone models. BUT, they will release a new housing, the SeaTouch 4 Max Plus, which will replace their standard housing and is optimized for the use with iPhone 16 Pro models. More information in my video which will drop later today. 😉

Yes, unfortunately a small part of the corners will be blacked out by the housing, but only when using the 0.5x lens (a lens I rarely ever use underwater). Any of the other lenses work without problem. But DiveVolk still recommend to use the standard SeaTouch housing with iPhones.

Thanks for your questions mate. the Platinum housing is not recommended for use with iPhones because you might experience problems with the wide angle lens in combination with the wide angle conversion wet lens (black corners). So Divevolk recommends to use their standard Seatouch 4 Max (bit.ly/3nVqDaS) for use with iPhones. I recommend using a single handle tray to attach a light if you can't/don't want to attach it to the cold shoe mount. And no, the Platinum housing will not fit an external drive in addition to the housing. I recommend using the Blackmagic camera app to be able to record in ProRes or Log internally to your iPhone. Hey it will (mainly through the membrane at the back) but it's true that the Platinum housing is less ideal to be used with the SeaLink compared to the standard housing. Divevolk themselves recommend using the standard Seatouch 4 Max housing in combination with the SeaLink component.
Ah ok thank you for the tip! So i guess i'm planning to get the seatouch 4 with sharelink to connect as a monitor to tg6. There isn't much info on their site for what accessories will be needed for the complete setup

You don’t need an external ssd for that. Simply use a third party app like the Blackmagic Camera App and you should be fine with all possible frame rates.
ok, I didn't realized that it does not have the cold shoe, I'm using mostly that for attaching video light. Also as they have not upgraded the filter holder, I think I will keep my standard version. Nice review though.
I know, I was a bit bummed hearing that the cold shoe mount has gone. I'm working around it by using the single handle tray (bit.ly/3CONPyP) on the Platinum housing, which gives me one ball mount for a light while still keeping the whole system very compact and small.
Hi- i bought divevolk seatouch 4 with red filter and wide angle lens- but i tried everything still the image won't focus if i use the red filter and/or the wide angle lens. even after locking the focus. this is in photos and videos. by the way i use the native camera of my iphone 15 pro.
Sorry to hear that you're having problems with your system. What lens are you using when trying to use the red filter & wide angle conversion lens? Ideally you want to use the 0.5x lens on the iPhone 15 Pro. Also make sure that the wide angle conversion lens is properly centered over the lens that you're using (not covering all lenses equally, but being dead-center on the i.e. 0.5x lens). I hope this helps and solves the problem for you?
Just got the Platinum housing. Was ready to upgrade to iPhone 15, but the Xiaomi ultra 14 is interesting. I would like to see the phone(camera) comparison. I have looked for a Xianomi 14 ultra 1Tb global version, but having difficulty finding one.
I got a Xiaomi 14 Ultra with 512GB which I found to be enough, even when doing lots of filming underwater with it. I just make sure to delete the clips after I have transferred them to my computer for editing. The comparison video will come soon.

This increased distance, unfortunaty, is enough to cause black corners when you use a wide angle conversion lens and the 0.5x lens of your iPhone. That’s the reason why DiveVolk is recommending not to use the new Platinum version with an iPhone, but stick to the standard version instead.

I have a Sony A7RV in a Nauticam Housing and from the Divevolk web site it looks like I can use one of their housings (for iPhone 15) as a video monitor getting the feed via WiFi from the camera. can you confirm this? Maybe do a demo?
Sorry to hear that.. But keep in mind that the standard version is still a very good choice. And as long as you don't upgrade your smartphone to one with a very thick camera module, you'll be just fine with the original version of the SeaTouch 4 Max.
Because it’s made from steel/aluminum and integrating a cold shoe mount would increase the production cost of the unit quite a bit. If you need a cold shoe mount I recommend the standard Seatouch 4 Max housing
Not really. The problem is the large surface area of the housing which creates quite a bit of drag. Action cams are the better pick here as they have a much smaller area creating drag while being attached to the scooter.
@@MatthiasLebo agreed. I was thinking of maybe attaching the scooter to my tank with a strap and making one of the handles on my Divevolk camera tray operate the scooter. That way I can still control both the camera and the scooter. Just flip the camera 90 degrees during high speed travel.

You don’t need an external ssd for that. Simply use a third party app like the Blackmagic Camera App and you should be fine with all possible frame rates.
