To be honest, I hate when people say this. Yes, there are plants that cost money, but the art is stellar, the music is well composed, the new features that change the gameplay, etc. How come people don't enjoy THESE parts of PvZ2?

GrimSim Pvz 1 has a total of 49 plants. Pvz 2 has a total of *141* plants, 31 of which cost real money. So they added *61* plants that could be unlocked without spending any money. And they added a total of 92 new plants. That’s pretty insane if you ask me.
Jethro Breek are you not aware that there is also many plants that you need to unlock with gems? Also EA fired the main creator of PvZ. EA only want money.
Taking in consideration how the fans of the series were feeling at the time, the title of this game is so clever.

Returning for nostalgia. I never though I’d be playing for 9 years after I started playing when pvz 1 when I was 6. It Will forever be my favorite franchise. Thanks pvz 🙏.

PvZ 2 has its issues but this trailer still goes hard to this day. Good times when I was hyped!
As someone who has been playing since around a week after launch I can safely say that EA has still kept some of the charm of the first game. When this first came out, I was fully set on 100% completing the game, (although with the seed packets now, I have given up) and I did just that! I unlocked every branching path on the world maps, beat every level, and waited eagerly for the new world. This continued for the next two years until Modern Day was released. A tad disappointed with the Zomboss fights but apart from that, it was great!
People bag on about EA filling the game with micro transactions, which they did don’t get me wrong, but at no point did I feel it ever ruined the game. It always had that PVZ charm to it! Even once the PvP game-mode came out, it was still fine!
HOWEVER! Penny’s Pursuit ruined a lot! Multiple songs were removed just to make this gamemode. It was practically impossible to get past the 3rd level without buying stuff with gems or IRL money and this... still didn’t ruin the game for me. It wasn’t something to do with the main story at all so personally, I’m fine with it!

Yeah I finished the game when It came out and not a single time did I ever buy anything. The pay to win jokes are just so annoying at this point and it’s clear the people making them haven’t even played the game

Let's see:
1) Hard as fu- know what, I won't even bother calling it hard, that would imply you have a chance at clearing levels if you have the skill. No, most levels are UNFAIR. How unfair? Conehead zombies and imps (which have about the same health as the normal ones, and need two watermelons to the head to kill) arrive in MULTIPLE lanes before you have the time to even plant two sunflowers. You pretty much NEED to buy either a powerup, extra plant food or, ack, a PREMIUM plant.
2) Want to use Snowpea, which was a godsend for high-level zombies in the first game? How about Squash, the lovable one-hit-KO machine that guarded your Wallnuts like no other? Or maybe even Cactus, the not-so-huggable bane of flying zombies? You better be ready to pay up for that nostalgia!
3) Generally awful gimmicks that tend to only sound good on paper. The original had a classic system of introducing a new plant, as well as a zombie that you could use said plant against efficiently. The new one gives you a mew plant every 7 - 12 levels or so, forcing you to defend certain pre-placed plants (which are almost always unevenly placed), defending a goddamn line of flowers from being crossed, some weird ass tile-matching game that only shows up in the first world, or the best of them all; limiting the area you can plant in in the first place with some weird moss tiles.
4) An upgrade system that sounds promising, but unless you like paying up 10$ or more for piñatas which may or may not contain upgrade packets for your desired plant, you're forced to replay old levels over and over again to get upto 5 RANDOM upgrade packets for upto 3 RANDOM plants from that world. And even THAT'S limited, you're only allowed upto three such replays per day.
5) Absolutely garbage zombie designs that shift the luck/skill balance out of ratio. Imps that take 8 peas to kill, zombies that kick back your plants, zombies that make others invincible, zombies that generate graves faster than you can destroy them, zombies that steal your sun and use it against you, the list goes on. At one point it becomes a question of "how can we make an Imp drive it and make it have a shitton of HP?".
Wanna know why most if not all gameplay videos of this game you see on RUclips have crazy stuff like instant-recharging, zero sun plants, level 25 plants and infinite money? Because this game's been hacked and modded to hell and back, and only then has it started to show any traces of fun.
tl;dr: Garbage game design that screams "buy stuff or suffer", a stunning lack of level design creativity for the most part, and basically, EA being EA.
I've had all of your troubles, except on a smaller scale. Most of those ARE decent new ways to play, but Zombies should never be able to oneshot Plants from across the map.
Also, *Shovel Zombies.* The most overpowered Zombie in Lost City, nothing launched straight can hurt him. Even Bloomerangs. Even on the way back.
Imps have the health of a normal Zombie, by the way.

3.it would be really boring for a game to have like 8 worlds and all have the same level design. And placed unevenly. Symmetry is great and all but not something to call out the game on.
4. epic quests give you alooot of packets. Also upgrading should be treated like a reward because its truly overpowered.The game doesn't owe you anything.
5.this game isn't like the old one were you create a line of defense you basically go with the flow because the one strategy you use the whole game in pvz wont work every level. In this game your entire run can be messed up if your not creative. THE BLOVER. is a common strategy now. The BLOVER.
zackscott games has his WHOLE playthrough on his channel. And also EA is sellouty that's a fact. But paying is optional, and a lot of premium plants are worse than original. Also recently premium plants have fun and exciting ways to get them instead of paying. LIke collecting seed packets to unlock the shadow peashooter. or mints to get... mints! sorry for my unorganized comment but I wanted to reply.

Something that's not talked about much from this trailer, is how well the CGI is blended with real life, and from 2013 as well.

There is actually a theory that the player is crazy Dave and that the neighbor is a result of schizophrenia, however that wouldn’t make sense because he got abducted in the cutscene
Dave also has plants as well. He probably saved the world by selling them to his other neighbors.

Just started playing this game....it is made very difficult after day10... just to force people to use money to buy power up.... totally ruined the game.
I got to day 15 on dark ages and that was the first time in had to buy a power up. I haven't bought anything with real Mon either.

+Jeff Lee the game is simple,and easy on its own way too.You just need to get used to it,i know many ppl playing that didnt give a cent for the game,and are on the last lvl avaiable,including me.Before trashtalking for a game,u should at least try to get used to it.day 10 is like nothing compared to the lvls available.

This game cannot be uploaded on pc because this game is often update per month or weeks and it already set for free on smartphones. On pc , playerd wont khow when their games gona updated

Fun Fact: In legacy versions of PvZ 2, Cabbage-pult was obtainable in Ancient Egypt. But in 7.1.1 and later, they moved him to the normal lawn due to an addition of Day 5 in Player's House.
