The old New England accent. This has largely gone away even amongst the wealthier families in that area.

I’m a lifelong New Englander of 37 and I never hear this type of accent that’s vaguely British but just its own.

@@matthewgallant3622hence 'its largely gone away'. It was always a very limited accent for a niche few.

She was hardly wealthy as a girl, but her mother and dad were both educated and taught at Boston University. Her Smith education parlayed with Cambridge helped create her unique and sophisticated voice. Today almost all Americans sound mainly common. We are taught ( at least sub consciously) to loathe beauty, grace, style and sophistication. We are taught to dress down, look down, talk down ( to each other) act like we all come from the dregs. I experienced the last or tail end of the best times in the USA- when even the lower middle class was able and delighted to carry themselves with class and dignity. We might not have all had money then, but we all had class!!
    Oh well- Goodnight America!

Your poems are difficult to understand,
So many allegories and symbolic representations .
Nevertheless your poems have that elusive beauty which pulls the reader back repeatedly.
I am curious to know your final days.
    A beautiful and sad life...
Reality of World can be very painful for someone so sensitive.
So much extraordinary talent lost forever.
Perhaps you have been reincarnated in a better world.
