- After an 8 year battle with Alzheimer's and dementia, my Grandad took his last breath on June 23rd 2017. We are broken without him but will continue to make him proud and do all the things that he loved to do - sing, dance, and most importantly laugh. We love you Grandy. See you soon xxxxx.

6 years ago, I lost my grandmother from ovarian cancer, and it nearly destroyed me inside and out because she kept our family together. When she died, I couldn't go to work, leave the house, and I couldn't even talk to anyone, not even my family, because they all knew I was the closest to her than ever. When I heard this song, I realized I wanted to sing this at my spring concert with help from my choir director. I even made a video of her with everyone, including me and my younger sister. While I sang, I cried. I saw everyone crying, even my own family. This song helped me get through my heartbreaking weeks without her. I know she's always with me. I'll miss her and I know I'll see her again in heaven.

This moved me a lot... Made me think about my Grandma and when she passed at 77... She's been an important peson in my life and even after 7 years from her death I still miss her and, sometimes, I don't even realize that I'll never see her again, and to think of that makes me feel nostagic and a little sad.

i lost my grandfather to the same horrible disease in April of 1998. like you, I sang something for his funeral. I believed then, and still do that he heard me and appreciated it. You and your brother sang a beautiful rendition of this song. I am sure your grandfather, like mine, heard it and appreciated it.
I know the loss is hard, but it does get better. If you ever need to talk, I am here.

Got me in the feelz. My grandpa and I were best friends. He always wanted me to sing to him, and that was the last he heard on this earth. He would have been 99 in June. It's been 17 years and I still miss him so. Many wishes for strength and healing for your family.

I never leave comments on videos, but as soon as the singing started, I could hear the love you have for your grandpa in your voice. I can tell just by the pictures that he was a wonderful, joyous guy. I'm so sorry for your loss. Alzheimer's really is a tragic way to lose someone. I did a show on it in theater in high school and won state. It really opened my eyes to the whole disease. I pray for you and your family that you can remain peaceful and grateful of the time you had with him. Rest in peace!

Alzheimer's is such a horrible illness, my own Grandfather passed away from it in February 2010, but watching the strong minded man I remember become trapped in his own mind was heart breaking. I have massive respect for both Georgia and Joel for doing this song, brining Alzheimer's to the attention of the RUclips community, their Grandpa would be so incredibly proud of them both.
