Patience? Bless him? It’s his job to be competent and professional. I thought he was patronising and belittling. Glynis johns might have been and looked old but it is no reason to treat and portray her as mentally delinquent.
Wow, 100 years, and she seemed like she was still alert! Even witty! lol she “looked good for every age!” And she did! Sad that she has passed, but she made her last appearance, thanks to that reporter! Thank you for “reminding” her how wonderful she was!
After we lost Zsa Zsa Gabor, June Foray, Betty White, Larry Storch, and Bob Barker all at 99 within the past decade, I’m so glad to see someone finally reach 100! Happy 100th birthday, Glynis Johns! 🎉 Mrs. Banks has always been my favorite Mary Poppins character and I loved Lady Penelope Peasoup on Batman as well.
That song was misandrist trash written by h3t men projecting their own sexism onto women. The Sherman Brothers have written some wonderful songs, but not a single solitary one of them was in that terrible movie.
I live in Los Angeles. In 2011 or 2012, I went with my boyfriend to see a coworker/friend who was in a convalescent home because he was recovering from a stroke. We spent some time in his room but then I got curious to walk around the place. I came to a room where there was a long table where patients were doing arts and crafts. I sat down and joined the bunch. I remember seeing this lady seated at the end of the table. She looked “familiar.” I kept looking at her not trying to stare. It was driving me crazy that I knew her but didn’t know from where. I heard her speak and recognized her voice. I kept hoping that someone would say her name but it wasn’t happening. I’d just gotten my first Smart Phone so I went on IMDB. I think I looked up While You Were Sleeping. Yup. That was Glynis Johns across the table from me. I had to suppress a gasp when I realized that she was in Mary Poppins! I regret that I didn’t take a picture but I wanted to respect her privacy. ❤ Edit: I just read that she passed away today at the age of 100. She was living in an Assisted Living facility. Rest in Peace 🙏🏻💐
@@jakeornot6306No your opinion is not right because the woman lost the opportunity to meet Glynis Johns and now she can never meet her because she just died at age 100 and 3 months

HAPPY 100TH BIRTHDAY, GLYNIS!!!!!!🥳🙌🎂🍰🎈🎉🎁🕯️ You're the longest living Disney legend of all time. In 2 weeks, the Walt Disney Company will celebrate its centennial, aka, the 100th anniversary! I'm so excited and I can't wait to celebrate!
She and Angela Lansbury were both in *The Court Jester* in 1956. Then, five years later, she made a movie at Warner Brothers with Shelley Winters. I can’t remember the title of it, but I came across the soundtrack album in a used record store some time ago.
God Bless Glynis Johns. She's fantastic. 100 yrs old. I liked her. Lovely lady young and old. Iconic voice and face. Just the best talent left . God Bless you Ms. Johns 🙏 ♥
Ms. Johns was a supreme talent in every way. Whatever "IT" was, the spark was undeniable, and it was hers. Stephen Sondheim wrote the song 'Send In The Clowns' FOR HER. Congratulations, Ma'am.
I would just as soon forget that wretched movie and its similarly wretched source material when the rest of her career shows she had more range than just that obnoxious misandrist song.
Nice. Happy 100th Birthday to her! Happy Birthday to her! Nice. Happy Birthday to her! Amazing that she’s still alive and still going strong at 100 years old! 😀.
Just rewatched "The Court Jester". She made it sound so simple..."The pellet with the poison's in the vessel with the pestle; the chalice from the palace hold's the brew that is true!"😂
Nice piece, I'm glad someone covered this and she agreed to be interviewed. Only sorry they didn't mention "The Ref" among her 90s work - she's absolutely brilliant in it
She also was in *The Sword in the Rose* in 1952 where she disguised herself as a man to hide from those looking for her. That’s why I’m not impressed with Blake Edwards’ widow pretending to be a man in that overrated movie where Webster’s dad kissed James Rockford.
What she "deserves" is a blasted Oscar, a Grammy, and a Lifetime Achievement Award, not because she made it to 100 years of age, but for her incredibly versatile, extensive body of work.
She was delicious, and the voice couldn't be anyone else. When Dirk Bogarde ran off with her husband, she seemed quite happy about it and everyone remained friends. Yet another reason *Bedknobs and Broomsticks* is a better film: Roddy McDowall. I’d rather support my fellow Gay men than the women who tried to marry them. The 25 years since he died have been the worst in Hollywood history. Hell, *Pete’s Dragon* and *Chitty Chitty Bang Bang* were also better. So were Glynis’s other Disney roles. But boomers gonna boom, so they make this stupid offensive bullshit the central focus of a career that deserves better.
I saw her in A Little Night Music on Broadway. She originated the role, and no other actress since has equaled the enchantment she brought to the show.
