  • In this video Nick demonstrates the different output valves that can be used with the Elekit TU8200R, all without the need to rebias the amp. In addition to this, you can choose for the output to be in triode, pentode or ultra-linear mode.

The other nice thing about SE amps is that you can buy more expensive tubes due to only needing 2 instead of 4 :)

Well they all play music. Ridiculous to think anyone can hear a difference via RUclips.

Fear not, we know no difference would be heard, and as Nick says in the video without letting the tubes burn in the difference wouldnt be worth hearing anyway - this is just a valve ''demonstration'', to show which power valves the kit is capable of using, and that no rebias is necessary!

It's ridiculous that this amp doesn't get more reviews on youtube. I think the big reason is snobbery. The amp looks a bit inexpensive but doesn't sound inexpensive at all. The big audiophiles don't want to touch it and/or be honest about what they hear.

Not a great idea to take the valves out like this. The power supply caps will be fully charged and will be like discharge through the B+ line and valve anode. Touch this and you could get a very nasty potentially lethal shock. You MUST ensure proper dischage before removing valves.

How do you ensure proper discharge? Thanks for the comment.

    Hello,
Can I also use 300 Ohm headphones with the amplifier?

You need to get some nice vintage preamp tubes. Get rid of the ones that are in it now.
