The comments are crazy! Are you gonna eat the whole cake at one time? No. Perhaps a piece, which means you will be eating 4 dates at one time, which is very healthy. And offcourse no sugar is the main attraction.
The oil is so less compared to what I have to put in cake with eggs. So in a piece of cake, it would be about a teaspoon. We need that fat for good skin.
Milk is healthy in this form. Plus wheat is good if you are gluten tolerant. Plus those who like to replace wheat for almond flour in everything, how is having so much almond at one time healthy anyways? This idea that one can have as much dry fruits and not affect cholesterol levels, is crazy. I would instead add Ragi flour. Oil can be coconut. But I would prefer ghee.
Overall a very healthy recipe compared to what it takes to make an usual cake with eggs- the butter, batter, sugar/ brown sugar, et al! Thanks.

Thank you for all the ideas. Love it❤ I would use buckwheat and organic creme instead of wheat flower and Milk and add a litte bit of seasalt. ❤ What kind of oil do you use? I use unrefined coconutoil or ghee.

In ramadan we put dates, dried apricots, dried figs, raisins, coconut and whatever other dried fruits you like and milk. Then leave it in the fridge. It's an amazing desert.

If you were going to grind dates with milk, then what's the logic of socking for 2,3 hours 😂😂

To make the soft I'm guessing.

It softens up the dates and makes it easier to blend and gives it a smoother consistency.

Because the soking will soft the dates
