Yeah so I was reading the first chapters of Galatians today and a question popped up. Is the Sabbath part of the Old Law? And if it is should we as Christians observe that day? Did Jesus coming to the Earth and making this New Covenant with us mean that the Sabbath went away with the Old Law?
Ryan Ortiz More and more christians are believing we should. I suggest pray and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you. As for me personally I practice keeping the sabbath on my sundays. But I recognize that the original seventh day is saturday. Im still open to the HS’s instruction about this though. If He wants to change it He can change it
Jason yeah that's the thing, so if we observe the Sabbath and it was part of the mosaic law what are we telling Jesus? Are we saying that he isnt needed and we should just cling to the old law? I'm very confused but I will pray on this that the Holy Spirt would reveal this to me. Thanks man
Ryan Ortiz Hey man, I hope this helps. In the OT the Sabbath was designed to give man rest from his labour. The OT Sabbath was pointing to the true Sabbath rest which is Jesus himself. To step into the true Sabbath rest, one must step into Christ. It is only through Christ that salvation is given. Jesus is the ultimate rest because he frees everyone who believes in him from working to gain their salvation. That being said, there’s nothing wrong in observing a Sabbath, but it’s extremely important to understand that observing a Sabbath does nothing for your salvation. Our salvation is fulfilled solely in the work of Christ. Don’t just take my word for it though, pray on it and I’m sure God will reveal it to you. Have a great weekend.
C T yeah dude that's comforting to hear, but are u able to give me Bible verses? I'm not trying to have a "gotcha" moment right now I'm just trying to agree but have some sort of assurance that what ur saying is Biblical and true. Even tho it does make sense and seem sound I would like some Bible verses, thanks man.
+Marty Blackman..if one would look at the bible objectively and as a whole..this is what one see. God gave the OT people the Ten Commandments. He told the people Not to add to them or subtract from them. Jesus came and brought the same commandments and chastised the Pharisees for "teaching for doctrine the commandments of men." it is very clear there are Gods Commandments and the commandments of men..they are Not one and the same. One needs to differentiate between the two..just as Jesus did. And Paul did Not teach the same gospel as Jesus did.. if you read them you will see. It was Paul that said the writings of men were the words of God. Jesus did not say that. I believe Jesus..not Paul. You need to differentiate between the Words of Jesus and the words of men. Matthew is the most trusted disciple. Jesus chose him for his accuracy..to get his Gospel Right..because everyone else is giving their opinions and we know Jesus often Corrected his disciples because they did not understand. It is easy to see..if you open your mind..instead of just believe the accepted thread of Christians. Jesus gave the Gospel ..in a nut shell..Be Honest and Responsible.."Love One Another" Forgive and don't value money more than people. This world would be a much better place..instead of arguing over all the stupid commandments of men that are of a culture and traditions of another time. Jesus is a "Living God." He did not die with the bible. He..Himself..said.." Live Today" do not live in the past..it is past..nor the future..He does not even know the future. "Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof." I do not care what people do with their bible opinions..I Care what Jesus wants me to do Today.
The law that he's talking about is the law of Christ mentioned in Galatians 6:2. All the law being summed up in loving God and loving others are the Commandments that we are to follow. In Romans 13:9,10 Paul sums it up.
Paul sums it up in Rome 13 the same way "Rabbi Hillel" and "Rabbi Gamaliel" summed it up. Here's what God-the-Son says: Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. *On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.*
Deuteronomy 24:16 first of all this would be contradiction, so that's why I know that Jesus is made up.look up marcion the peso family there's the one who created Jesus..
Yeah, but animals died for the purpose of repentance. Then, sin was even bigger problem, so Jesus sacrificed Himself. Doing that, He gave us ultimate sacrifice. No need for animal sacrifition.
Jeremiah 30: 1-24 Jesus don't exist we're waiting for the Creator to come back and he ain't coming back until he destroy everything that destroyed his people Read it and weep.. And jesus is not the Messiah he is not mentioned in the Torah.you can guess all you want .but what ever the Creator wants you to know he lay it right out for u.no mine games and guessing .stop changing the Creator words to fit your ways.
OT people and NT people are just alike. God gave the Isrealites the 10 commandments and the first thing they did was seek their idols and make up laws of their own. Jesus came and gave Gods commandments..Again! And the first thing the people did was scrap the Commanments and make up laws of their own and seek their idol..Paul.
Kathleen, you are right. Just as there were two trees in the garden of Eden, so in the Christian NT there are two trees (men). We are to choose. Many choose the wrong tree. I choose Jesus. "As for me and my house, we shall serve the Lord."

What about in Ezekiel where it talks about animal sacrifice in the millennial kingdom age? That's confusing
+2drsdan.. I know what Jesus Said and I see what Christians Do. I do not care what you think.
Yet you care enough to watch this video and post comments!

Actually..The Ten Commandments are still valid and very helpful also.
