Water festivals in Southeast Asia are a common tradition. Each country has a different name. Thailand calls it Songkran, Burma calls it Thingyan, Laos calls it pemai lao, Cambodia calls it Chaul Chnam Thmey. Cambodia only changed to calling the water festival Songkran last year. And there has never been a video from the past of Cambodia called Songkran. It's just called Chaul Chnam Thmey. Thailand has made the Songkran festival famous around the world, spending a huge amount of time and budget. But Cambodia has never promoted its own festival but wanted the word Songkran. Because it can generate income for the country It's a disgusting and selfish way to steal success without any investment or effort.
If Cambodia wants to do Songkran, Cambodia must use other name. But they try hard to claim Songkran to be own couture. We Thai people don’t care if Cambodia uses another word instead of Songkran. However, this country very shameless.
Thailand stole everything from Cambodia like culture also.
