    Neat results. BTW, in case anyone had the idea of painting their car with this - at today's exchange rate and going by the 15ml size offered on their website, this paint costs $9545.76 per gallon. LOL

      LOL! not until I find a decent un diffusing clear cloat, mind you, i'm sure 2k would be ok, but i'm gonna buy a seperate airbrush for spraying that, i'm trying to take care of my current airbrush without abusing it putting 2k through it. I may just use a rattle can but the life once primed in a can is only 48Hrs.

      Yep ill try and add some dye to it and see if it mixes well! And aging could be done with some black inks after I think. It should age ok.

    I got a bottle of this yesterday. It say's on the box to clean brushes with white spirit, just for future ref.

    It might help if you followed the instructions.
    It is meant to be BRUSHED on VERY thinly, almost as a dry brush. Less is more.
    The thinner the coat, the better the gloss.
    It also says specifically it should not be sprayed.

    Awsome! this paint sold out so fast! Glad you can test it on some pieces so I can see what is looks like on prints I would apply this on. Hopefully I can get it when/if it restocks

      Hope it comes back in stock after coronavirus settles down!! but I bought two bottles just in case it sold out! I hate it when that happens!

    Have you tried spraying it on a black shiny basecoat? Chrome paints ive used in the past have given much better results then, especially when applying a thin coat.

    • @Cloakfiend
      @Cloakfiend  4 года назад

      Yes i did exactly that in my video where i compared alclad 2 and mirror and molotow! Not as much difference as i thought it may make. The smoother the surface the better the chrome. So i guess the more base coats the better!

    Is it conductive? could you plate over it, perhaps with masking for different effects.

    • @Cloakfiend
      @Cloakfiend  4 года назад +1

      No its just a solvent based paint. I plate my other prints have a video showing them.

    Really awesome! What kind of pre-processing did you do before applying the chrome coating? Do you need an prime layer? I am going to make some SLA printed cufflinks with braille dots on it for my wedding.

      I sprayed it over basic gloss black car paint, but you dont need to as i show in my chrome shark tutorial. Near zero sanding with sla. Its moisture sensitive though you'd be better of plating it if your gonna wear it tbh, ill do a tutorial for that later, check out my results on my instagram for examples if you want though, cloakfiend@insta...

    Have you tried a clear coat on it? ... Does the chrome lose it's shine? .. Thanks for sharing.

    • @Cloakfiend
      @Cloakfiend  3 года назад +1

      Its sensitive to humidity. And dont touch it with sweaty hands. Needs a clear coat of some kind.

    does it dry well? Is it slightly tacky or anything after drying? Also what do you use to clean the airbrush with after?

    • @Cloakfiend
      @Cloakfiend  3 года назад +1

      It dries ok but fogs up in high humidity. I havent tried clearcoats yet. But hear 2kclear is best but not perfect.

    • @Cloakfiend

      I clean the airbrush with standard airbrush cleaner or iso or acetone.

    lack of durability sucks tho

    • @Cloakfiend
      @Cloakfiend  4 года назад

      Yeah i think thats the common problem with all chrome paints as well as not being able to add a clear top coat for safety. Durability is pretty good though overall! I was rubbing pretty hard in this vid, and only after a few hours curing as well, so it dries quite quick. But the ability of a top clear coat would be nice!

  • @petermlouis

    May i ask what that airbrush is and where i can buy it?

  • @bluedeva
    @bluedeva 4 года назад +1

    Stuart Semple explains how to use mirror correctly and how to clean it on his youtube. To save over loading paint it on with a soft nylon brush. Youre putting too much on

    • @Cloakfiend
      @Cloakfiend  4 года назад +2

      Putting too little on doesnt work either. Its also very much like molotow but twice as expensive. Both have similar chemical compostions imo. Ive seen his videos about it but ill check if he has any newer ones! Thanks for letting me know!
