Hello Tom, nice time in the woods. Very nice shotgun. I have the Mossburg 500 Superbatum 20 gauge. I got it for I have short arms. Take Care and Keep Exploring The Outdoors.
Great reminder about taking the time to make sure your safety is on! Walking through all that brush could knock the safety off. I love mossberg! They are an affordable and versatile gun!
They're such an easy gun to break down too. Once you learn how. Checking the safety is such a big thing with me. Most of the time I'll shoot and dont remember putting the saftey back on. Second nature I guess. Thanks for taking the time to watch.
Cool story about where the gun came from, my grandpa gave me his .22 Winchester bolt action my grandmother bought for him in 1945 after getting out of the service. It’s my favorite gun and favorite squirrel rifle.
You sure can but in my opinion #6 is a very good shot size for every type of small game. Keep your shots around 35 yards or under if using modified choke . The best thing is to pattern your shot shells 30” circle at 2030and 40 yards that will tell you a lot.👍✌🏻🇺🇸😎🙏🏽
I got the newer Mossburg 500 in 12 gauge big, bulky and heavy with that I got many rabbits, jacks, Pheasants, Quails, Doves, Ducks, geese and finally a Turkey. now I use a O/U and a side by side both in 20 and 12 gauge.
This is one gun I will never part with. It wasn't his but he felt the need to buy it and hand it over to for a birthday present. If my memory serves me right. Lol. Thanks for watching.
My buddy uses a 12 gauge and when we clean the rabbits I noticed that his are more shot up than mine. He's a much better shot than I am so I'm sure he's putting decent shots at least on them but that 12 gauge just tears up the rabbits if you really are after meat. I like a 20 gauge
When my grandpa was alive, he went with me a few times. I asked him why he was using a 12 gauge. His response was "l want to make sure I gettem" lol. I miss that man. Thanks for watching. I greatly appreciate it.
Gotta love the old Mossbergs ! Awesome story behind it . Beauty day for a walk in the woods bud ! Thanks for taking us along
Thanks. Looking back, I wish I would've kept some kind of tally on how many rabbits and deer I did take with this gun.
Thanks for tagging along.

Yes they are. Just a little cleaning and thats it.
Thank you for your video. What ammo do you use? Can I use target load 7.5 for Cottontail and grouse?

What choke is ur mossberg 20 pump?
@@paulwitte388 full. It's just a field barrel.
Do you feel a mod or ic choke would be better with your gun?
Nice video mate!
Thank you.
Is there a rabbit jerky video in the works if you find a few?
U running a full choke?
Yup, due to a plain old field barrel
I have made a habit of always constantly checking my safety weather I’m shotgun hunting or rifle hunting
It's like it's second nature to me. Thanks for watching. I appreciate it.
