Ereder no it won’t. You can’t force a drive system (either electric or gas) over the maximum RPM by forcing it to move faster. All you will do is destroy it eventually. And it still won’t move faster.

In the 50s my dad had a few cars, one got loose and beelineed right at an unfortunate stray dog. The wire arm cleanly sliced off one of its paws, My dad folded up quickly and took the dog to a Vet. We adopted him and he lived about another ten years. His name was lucky as, on two counts, 1. Lucky he didn't get killed and 2. Lucky he had a family now with 4 boys who loved the heck out of him. He still ran faster than any of us. The fence is a good idea

I have an antique tether car that my great uncle built just after WWII and raced in a park in Oak Cliff (Dallas). The car originally had a spark ignition engine and a shutoff switch actuated by a wire extended from the top of the car. If the run was not up to snuff, the owner could hold a rag above the track and trip the switch to shut down the car. It was later converted to glow plug ignition, which meant that there was no shutting it off until the fuel ran out. I was a preschooler at the time, but I remember watching the races and savoring the smell of burning castor oil. The race club disbanded after somebody who was probably unhappy with the noise broke up the expensive concrete track.

Planes out of range and some in range skidding the rooftops of nearby residents. The flyers occasionally lost a plane to an irate home owner.

Exactly what I'm wondering; how many g's are these things experiencing, is there much (any?) tension on that tether cord? Those wheels and axles must be pretty stout! (Let's see, 20mm or so radius wheel spinning along the ground at 270 kph.....) (Must be unobtainium!)
Also, pretty damn fine precision job of getting that track perfectly smooth and circular! I can (kind of) imagine what the SLIGHTEST ripple would do to one of those test runs (don't think the chain link fence would stop the shrapnel!)
