- The world's first and only in depth comparison of these two legendary vehicles that embodied New York City and roamed the streets searching for very different crowds, next to each other in this exclusive comparison. I don't know of anyone else, besides 1 person, who has owned both examples, so this is a very rare chance to be able to compare these 2 similar vehicles that serve very different purposes. Love both those cars. They just need cleaned up though. I'd like to drive my 2011 Crown Victoria P7B through New York City someday.
Quality content. Love both packages and it was GREAT getting to see them side by side.
More to come!
Great video. I have a Crown Victoria here in the UK. It's a P71 in yellow. It started life as a white New Jersey car. Then was sold to a fire company who painted it yellow. I've always liked the idea of doing a NYPD undercover taxi so I managed to get the same roof light as yours and am now the proud owner of 6Y13, a NYPD undercover cab. Originally 6Y13 was a LWB but I just like that number so went with it. Mine is kitted out with all the emergency sirens and lights but just gets the attention of being a cab. 🙂
I'd love to see Stuntman Neutral Drop a retired Crown Vic taxi or Police Interceptor #WHATSITGOTSTUNTMAN
I love Ford Panther Body cars. Some of my favorite sedans, I also like Toyota Camrys and Honda Accords, and GM cars with the 3800 V6, like a 2000 Chevy Impala or a 2000 Buick LaSabre
Always seen the 103 pct black crown Victoria as a kid nice it is going to a great owner you they are reliable vehicles
The rear doors and also the rear quarter panels from the edge of the front door to the edge of the rear are very difficult to find. The driveshaft can be rebuilt if there’s no damage in it but if it’s damaged, you will probably need a custom driveshaft. Also the rear glass that’s not the quarter glass is hard to find too as well as the LWB frame itself. The center armrest is from a Town Car.
That black one is just like mine. The street appearance package. Tinted windows. Antenna screw ports. Light brackets and a damn good utility weight suspension
Great video. Dan Akroyd has a black, D.C. state dept Grand Marquis
Awesome video man
Great video man learned at lot would love to drive my daily 2010 P71 to nyc now that she survived the mean streets of Detroit
Great video
The P70 (extended passenger compartment) were not exclusive to NYC. They were available to all fleet purchasers.
Like the content! Great video 👍
Appreciate it!
Why is this so cool . I kinda want one now
I have a 2009 crown Vic from the 67th pct detective squad. The iconic street appearance package
The New York accent and the Southern US states and Texas accent are the BEST American accents ever!
Legend... 3 Manifolds my guess.
Great comparison. I am glad for you for purchasing this car’s.
thank you!
Nice. Crown Vics get all the attention, but I prefer the Mercury Grand Marquis. Yes they are a grandpa car, but being a 64 year old grandpa, they suit me just fine. I have two of them. A 2006 with 231,000 miles on it (original intake manifold) 190,000+ of those miles are mine. Mostly highway. I also have a 2007 in near brand new condition with only 47,000 miles on it that I only bought a couple months ago. I bought it to use when/if the 2006 ever wears out. I like the Grand Marquis because they have a softer suspension and soft cushy leather seats, for a more comfortable ride. At my age that's important. They also have the 2.73 rear axle, which lets you cruise at 65 mph just above idle with the automatic overdrive on. On a flat road they can top 30 mpg at that speed, and go over 400 miles on a tank of gas.
I have a p71 just like yours mine has the bench seat in the front with two hand rest, and the seats are clot. The seat adjustments are on the door. from what it was told the car belong to a detective in Texas I live in San Antonio and it’s a 04 I got rid of the cats I just have the stock mufflers connected I get a check engine light, but I don’t care I get better fuel mileage.😉
Very informative. I've had these cars in mind for a daily driver for years, due to their strength and reliability. Gathering real-world experience from those in the know really helps. Will you do a driving video of the cars at some point? I've only ever ridden in the back (the taxi, NOT the police car!).
i’ve daily driven these plenty- they get around 10mpg in nyc, right now my daily driver is a 22 CRV
@@carsofqueens The midtown cabbie I rode with was probably getting about 5 mpg. He was either at wide open throttle or hard on the brakes. The TV is to distract the passengers from watching their life flashing before their eyes.
Great video. Always liked the CV!!! On the police version, what is the circular vent on the top on the air intake box. It appears to be aftermarket. Why was this installed?
That circular vent on the air box is not factory at all.
Compare it to NYPD undercover Taxi :)
So did they use the trunk release for the assaulty gun lock?
NYPD crown vic
Dual exhaust. The cop car had dual exhaust and the taxis had only a single exhaust pipe.
Crown Victoria Taxi is good Taxi and good car!! 🚕🚕🚕🚕🚕
there were some P70s that were Fleet civilian cars (like a rental car) also the Mercury Grand Marquis M70 Saudi Arabian Exclusive car so there are more Long Wheel Base cars than just NYC Taxis
not in factory original yellow paint or vinyl seat interior like the nyc taxi package
those were LXs afaik
@@carsofqueens ether way all LWB panthers are cool
I’m on the hunt for a nice Town Car L
@@RustyZipper those are easier to find than the LWB Crown Victoria. Slightly easier.
Many don’t know they aren’t the same…
The cars that made NYC what it is
How does that Bluetooth adapter do in your black Vic? Is the sound good or is it low? Oh and 1 intake
it’s very good and useful
575000 miles omg
how does one get a nyc cab in 2023
Proper cars. Not the shite of today.
what did/do the NYPD use impact cars for?
operation impact lasted between 2002-16 and targeted high crime areas and flooded the area with cops that targeted quality of life concerns primarily.
I would like to buy ford Crown Victoria. I am from Croatia and regular gas it’s much more expensive than in US. 1.62$ for 1 Litre today. 1 Gallon = 3.80 litre cca. What is interesting. Today is smaller difference in price then before pandemic. Crown Victoria was never for sale in Europe. Only individual import. Because is a gas guzzler. Here if you want a big car. You buy a diesel. Car with cheese has a big advantage. Car produsors don’t make them only because they last to long. If the person bay’s only 2 or 3 car’s in there lifetime 90% producer’s would not exist.
I have a taxi for sale, DM me on instagram @carsofqueens
I’ve noticed a lot of Europeans such as yourself do like the Crown Victoria. They are great cars, however when I see how many of them were worked into the ground and purposefully destroyed I feel like their population was cut in half. Hopefully you can find one in good condition and can get parts for it. Best wishes on finding the right car. As an American I get to go dig one out of a field somewhere and restore it so you can just by one 😂.
@@Delta_NWAB747fan Thank you ! Well people import classic cars. I guess Crown Victoria isn’t worth two Import.
@@carsofqueens Thanks for the offer. But I will like to bay Crown Victoria from private owner. Maybe somebody who worked in America until they retire and they import the car for regular use. And maybe they couldn’t drive anymore because of the age or something like that. Fact that I have half of my family in Amerika. They used to have Lincoln town car. And I drove that car when I used to visit them. It was yare 91 And day scrap the car probably in 2004 or 2005 Problem was the gearbox. I think they paid someone to scrap the car…
Its dangerous you don't understand
