This is a top Christmas ⛄🎁❄️🎅🏾🎄classic. I loved this in "Friday After the Next" movie. This has got to played EVERY Christmas without hesitation. No DEBATES about it people
I cry every time I hear this song. Quick story....back in 1980 when I was about 9...My parents got me and my twin sis a tape recorder for Christmas, and I was recording everything. Back then, we lived in NY, and my aunts, uncles, and cousins..would meet up at our house for the holidays. My Uncle Jimmy brought over the Temptations Christmas album...He told everybody that he wanted us all to hear this song. He said it was an instant classic...and he didn't want no talking while it was playing. My other aunts/uncles.....everybody..gave him grief about it, but he played it like...twice. I have all of this....on my Maxell cassette tape. My Daddy, most of my aunts and uncles.... are gone now, but that tape remains. It is one of my most prized possessions. And, my Uncle Jimmy was right! Merry Christmas, y'all!!

It would not be Christmas without hearing the temptations version of Silent Night on the radio. I have actually heard some people say that the temptations version of Silent Night is love making music lol.
This is a standard! along with Nat King Cole and Donny Hathaway. But this joint is so deep with feeling.

I'm an 80's baby & as a child In my house, in black folks houses back in tha 80's and 90's it's NOT Christmas, it doesn't feel like Christmas until this song is being played throughout December until Christmas!! And it's still that way for me. I gotta hear this song during Christmas time even though I don't celebrate the holidays like I used to.

The only original Tempts on this song are Melvin and Otis. The high falsetto part is by Glenn Leonard and the other lead is Dennis Edwards. Of course the bass is Melvin.

Silent Night by The Temptations with Eddie Kendrick as the lead singer is also so beautiful and is the Soulful version of this song that I grew up loving to listen to from the "A Motown Christmas" complication Album.
Eddie Kendricks was no longer with the group when this was recorded. The high falsetto voice is Glenn Leonard.

This wasn't even the first version by the Temptations. They had done a completely different version years earlier. But this is their best.
