There was a time a few years ago when the apartments next to my house had overgrown landscaping. These were section 8, with a slumlord. I found out that for a couple weeks a homeless woman took up residence behind this huge bush just a few yards away from my garage. I couldn't imagine how uncomfortable that was to live with squatters. I wonder how well they fit into the neighborhood. I have bugged the City for a long time to do something about the goings on next door. This is the year , with NEW OWNERS, that the property was shut down by the city and a complete rehab is currently underway. HAPPY FATHER'S DAY! I know you have helped keep the neighbors safe.

It would drive most of us nuts. You represent the best of community spirit and volunteerism to do this work. Amazing what you get your machine to do. A re-found culvert or creek scene, a brick path bit, a window with renewed light after a weed tree was removed, the utility meter exposed, fence-line cleared... Your edger came apart, glad you didn't get hurt. I noted the Thuja looked overgrown. Looks like you trimmed them back and removed some extensive created mulch below them. You brought back the appearance and feel of someone's treasured home. Nice some of the neighbors stopped by to talk to you. Great work you two. Also, Happy Father's Day to you both.

I still don't understand how neighbors come by to thank you, but were not bothered enough by the disaster to do it themselves in their own neighborhood. A stranger has to come in to do it.
I don't get it either. I don't understand how people in the immediate area wouldn't be really hacked off by that crummy awful looking house and yard with people doing who knows what inside who are not the legal owners. I'm sure there is no electricity or water service to the property since it was foreclosed. Where are they bathing? Where are they going to the toilet? I've seen the insides of houses that have had squatters in them - it is NOT something you want in your neighborhood, believe me! AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL. And that DUMP brings down the value of all the other homes in the area, from what I could see in the video they were well-kept. Did NOBODY complain? Did the city or whatever municipality this is in just ignore complaints? Who the heck is in charge - they need to be FIRED!
I’m actually baffled why the bank that foreclosed on the property hasn’t sold it to recoup their loss. By allowing it to sit and have squatters take it over you can bet the inside is a disaster.
@@CLVELES : it would make sense for the bank to hire someone to mow at least once a month to maintain their investment. Nobody is going to buy a place that looked like it did.
@@CLVELES why hasnt the city sent code enforcement to tag it and call the bank? The county can easily put a tax lien against a property for allowing squatters and the condition.

Amazing what you get your machine to do. A re-found culvert or creek scene, a brick path bit, a window with renewed light after a weed tree was removed, the utility meter exposed, fence-line cleared... Your edger came apart, glad you didn't get hurt. I noted the Thuja looked overgrown. Looks like you trimmed them back and removed some extensive created mulch below them. You brought back the appearance and feel of someone's treasured home. Nice some of the neighbors stopped by to talk to you. Great work you two. Also, Happy Father's Day to you both.

For the life of me I fail to understand how the neighbors could live next door or across the street from all of that trash & overgrown grass & not do something about it. The neighbors can come up to you & compliment you / complain but they can't get off their butts & do something about the conditions. That is really rich !!!!! Somebody need help you help them no problem especially an older couple in need, you always have!!!!! Squatters I have a huge problem with. They don't care about living in filth just a free ride. I still don't understand how neighbors come by to thank you, but were not bothered enough by the disaster to do it themselves in their own neighborhood. A stranger has to come in to do it.
Not sure about everyone’s circumstances but it helps that I have commercial equipment and the ability to take on this kind of property
I don't get it either. I don't understand how people in the immediate area wouldn't be really hacked off by that crummy awful looking house and yard with people doing who knows what inside who are not the legal owners. I'm sure there is no electricity or water service to the property since it was foreclosed. Where are they bathing? Where are they going to the toilet? I've seen the insides of houses that have had squatters in them - it is NOT something you want in your neighborhood, believe me! AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL. And that DUMP brings down the value of all the other homes in the area, from what I could see in the video they were well-kept. Did NOBODY complain? Did the city or whatever municipality this is in just ignore complaints? Who the heck is in charge - they need to be FIRED!
I’m actually baffled why the bank that foreclosed on the property hasn’t sold it to recoup their loss. By allowing it to sit and have squatters take it over you can bet the inside is a disaster.
@@CLVELES : it would make sense for the bank to hire someone to mow at least once a month to maintain their investment. Nobody is going to buy a place
that looked like it did.
@@CLVELES why hasnt the city sent code enforcement to tag it and call the bank? The county can easily put a tax lien against a property for allowing squatters and the condition.
