Honestly, I'm with CasComics, would be cool to see the rogues gallery as the new BatFamily. Riddler as "the guy in the chair," Catwoman does her normal thing, Penguin becomes his ears in the underground similar to Matches Malone...
Plus Harvey being his inside man in city government, and Waylon having the ear of the community. It could really work, like Bruce's own Baker Street Irregulars.
You know what? I don't want Selina, Oswald, Edward and the others to be villains. I like their new dynamic with Bruce - Nigma is tech consultant, Oswald gives insides from criminal world, "Killer crok" is someone of a coach, and "Two face" helping Bruce by using his connections with Gotham administration. It's all cool and new and I'm all for it. Maybe they shouldn't know Batman's identity, but they still can help. It's also great opportunity to let some unknown Batman villans to shine. What do you think?
It would be funny if Bruce and Selina are allies in this universe and have a more balanced relationship while Absolute Superman and Lois are the ones who have the most complicated relationship
I think Selina is probably going to remain something of an antihero because a lot of the comic seems to imply she's wealthier than Bruce and the gang. I'm guessing there'll be something of an inversion of her and Bruce's usual relationship.
I suspect DC will turn one of them into a villain (first a traitor, and then sink into the relevant villain persona after being revealed) and drag out revealing which one for a bit. The rest will become his backup/support a bit like his team in Earth 1.
The Batman AF thing while he watches a burning building shaped like his face, is the most early 2000s teenage fanfiction thing I've seen. And I love it so much XD Also, I'm surprised you didn't mention the "ArkM" folder inside Hill's computer
Loved the small detail of the hole Batman made in the aquarium at the start being high enough to washout the Party Animals but still leave water for the fish still in the tank.
If we do end up seeing them turn into their main universe selves, I imagine Oswald's going to get his leg destroyed, leading to his iconic waddling limp and putting on weight as a result
Bruce knowing his enemies since childhood is giving me some Gotham vibes. I wonder if Selina will have a similar role as Andrea Beaumont from Mask of the Phantasm, acting as someone who could have help Bruce heal from his trauma but, bc of some incident, the two went their separate ways, with Bruce becoming Batman and Selina becoming Catwoman.
People call this Batmobile the BatDozer. Quite fitting. Also, there's a Red Hood Resistance Gang! I'm excited to know how they portray Red Hood and the rest of the Robins in the next few years.
1:43 It's a dump truck, probably a CAT model. You'd usually find it in quarries so I have no clue how he got it in the city given it'd take up the whole street.
Hey just for fun poison ivy could be Bruce's ex girlfriend bane was his highschool bully and Mr freeze was his college professor! I mean at this point I could totally see that!
I'm surprised you glossed over Gordon and Martha's relationship, I mean, friends don't just share cigarettes with each other like that 😏. Anyone else got major Black Lagoon vibes from that?
I like how less judgemental this batman his especially sense his friends are like his rouges gallery Sure hes still brutal but tpu can tell he doesn't see them as cowardly criminals but people
Use of acid and blowing up one of the useful belfries? Dang, that sounds more like what "The Ghost" may have become post-Arkham Knight, in my opinion. 1:35: Seen and liked The Dark Knight Returns and Arkham Knight Batmobiles, but this... takes getting used to. Huh, thin Penguin looks cool. Blonde Harvey Dent is interesting. Riddler with Hugo Strange glasses is, to use archaic language, queer. Hmm. First, a certain recent Batman tale, and now this? Joe Chill is being quite popular recently. A crooked Hamilton Hill brings into mind Arkham Origins, if not the DCAU Elseworlds The Adventures Continue. 4:41: Better not fall into wrong hands.
At this point based on the other Absolute comics and the hints we have been getting from the future Flash, Green Lantern, and Martian, unless given conclusive evidence otherwise, it seems like its going to be very unlikely we see villains becoming heroes in this world. However, I see this world having a lot more anti-heroes and anti-villains. The way I see it, if the canon universe emphasizes the distinction between white and black morality, Absolute will emphasize the shades of gray
I only have some stuff put away to buy one comic, so I'm going for Absolute Wonder Woman, but everything I've heard about Batman has been great. Edit: Also, I may now think Penguin looks really nice. No further comment.
4:21 Could you please enlighten me about something? When Sionis says he likes Batman… Does that line has something to do with their obsessions and how he believes their masks are their real faces or what he likes has more to do with how violent Batman is? Because one of those things is Black Mask as I’ve always wanted him to be and the other is something I’m a bit sick of.
Right now it's seems that Roman like Batman because of how loud & showy Batman is. Roman & his gang's The Party Animals seems to be based around the primitive desire to break, hurt & doing whatever you want for pleasure (That's probably why the gang masks are animal skulls). Roman is so pleasure driven that his base is a yacht that blast loud music at midnight just to get more of it. So Batman driving a Dump truck through police vehicles, Driving motorcycles out of skyscrapers & routing dozen of his goons with trap would geel with Roman. But there's definitely more to him than just blind pursuit of pleasure, He does seem obsessed with masks but it's too soon into the series to get a deeper understanding of it. TL,DR: Both.
Wait, so Joe Chill, in this universe, is a mass shooter right? That's a level of 'realness' I'm not used to in DC- the idea of a dude spreading laughing gas from a blimp in my town isn't a reasonable concern, bud a dude opening fire in a public zoo? :/ sadly yes. Also, the fact that this Bruce can not only sit across from Joe Chill instead of going out of his way to find him as Batman and kick the crap out of him/restrain himself from killing him AND do that every week? Definitely a different kind of Bruce.
I wish I could get into it - but the entire nucleus of the comic being DCs awful cosmic stuff and involving different universes just turns me off instantly. Darkseid is a nothing character to me, and I don't want him anywhere near Batman.
@patrickmoler8025 My belief is I want to have fun reading a bloody comic book. If your idea of "fun" is constantly being reminded of how crap the world is by my bloody guest but do not bloody talk down to me or question my beliefs!!!!!
i think that this series is coming out at exactly the wrong time. Trump has been reelected and everyone should consider the possibilitie that he might create a real gotham scenerio. at the very least he'll make sure that after he has to leave the throne one of his flunkies will be the next president. if i want to get more depression fuel i turn on the news, i don't pick up a comic. this might be a good AU but i think that the novelty will be worn thin quickly and the series will in effect crash and burn. things are going to get bad. i sincerely hope that in four years i'll look back and laugh about my pessimism. i fear that i might laugh at my optimism. i really hope that i will still be alive in four years time and not some radioactive corpse in a wasteland.
Why must every writer who works on Batman insists on making things "realistic "? Realism is boring and holds back true creativity. Seriously where on earth is the in a story where the main protagonist wears a bat inspired costume and beats up criminals who talk through ventriloquist dummies? And I am not a fan of Synder inserting references to real world politics! Comics are meant to be fun escapism not reminders of the miseries of the world. If anyone likes this new version of Batman, that's OK. However I am not.
I’m not sure if you’re aware but comics especially superhero comics weren’t exactly created with escapism in mind, they were mainly used by their creators as commentary on the world. They use massive machinery like that to bore tunnels and spray the walls with cement. It's probably the least practical Batmobile out there, but they do exist.
Darkseid should just stopped looking for this mathematic equation in the cosmos and just starts working in Dc

Looks like the batmobile is a converted mining truck - you see those things all the time around mine sites in Australia.
Thanks for the insight!
A mining truck with a train's cowcatcher on the front. *That's* why that batmobile is so good at throwing cop cars to the side
And in the northen region of Chile

The Batmobile appears to be a heavy dump truck, typically used in large construction projects, industrial manufacturing, and mining.
