Great system, we have been living off grid for a while, and just recently decided to move back to Kansas and start all over on bare family land. We have to wait for this one to sell but excited for the new opportunity.
Y'all have got that set up pretty nice. Thank you for sharing your cabin journey with us from the beginning right up to the finish. Looking forward to following further progress. God Bless
Absolutely awesome system. I have a 12 volt lighting system in every room in my house and batteries are charged by 4 100 watt panels. The living room light has been on for 2 years straight as all of our bulbs are LED. Awesome choice if there is a power outage or if your cabin is off-grid. I am a power generation technician and built my system in my houses due to severe power outages for up to 18 hours that happens regularly in my wife's city in the Philippines. We also have ports for charging phones and system is large enough to run 200 watt inverter for TV or laptop if needed. Keep your project going anyone who complains likes paying bills...
good job danny, I've been using my solar for house lighting for years, we don't turn on electric ( ac ) lights. my wind generator also helps keep my battery bank full when no sun and this past year we added solar grid tie to cut our electric bill for normal house use, went from $120 a month to $56 dollars a month and I'm always finding new ways to use my battery solar for more projects, keep up the good job, best of wish's to you two.
I run a 12V desk lamp for almost 8 hours, and charge my iPhone and iPad, and the batteries in my keyboard and mouse, off of an old truck battery that I charge every day with two 100W solar panels. It saves me almost $20 a month on the power bill. Small solar is the way to go for residential power.
Running 12 volt here as well plenty of electric. Hey brother get the solar garden lights like for sidewalk we make chandelier with 4 of them remove lenses and let the led shine they charge free daily in yard rechargeables I am running a whole studio off grid in the woods bout 20 dollars patio lights will impress off griders been using them about 10byears for cabin lighting enough to play chess or read bibles what ever really good in bathroom
Use a solar walkway light in the window or cheap Amazon solar pathway light with 6 foot wire lead to a mini panel. Many will stay and hold enough light till morning.
Could you wire in a quick charger for your battery pack, to run off the generator when you do run it, to charge the batteries, so you can get more use out of burning fuel? Might be handy on days with a lot of cloud cover
Danny Please Answer Would either of these listed in your video section, work in a 8’X12’ Palram Greenhouse? To get a Solar Light, Hooked up and about 3 Heating Pads hooked up Maybe a off of a extension cord?? Also need to run a small electrical fan/heater like Jess has on Root and Refuge in her blue Greenhouse?? I’m racking my brain these days trying to figure out how to do something I totally am new at!! I’m no where near a electrician!! Just a female wanting to make my Greenhouse work at night and in the winter..I need something that won’t break the bank account since I’ve got it all to purchase and get it all setup by this Fall?? I would appreciate any advice you could help with?? Thanks so much God Bless Sheila
Danny couldn't you add a small solar panel and a small wind generator like on a sailboat? My dad did a small solar panel on a 36 foot homemade boat and we would stay on her for 3-4 days at a time and have TV, Lights, Radio, Blender (all 12 volt) and a small 3 burner gas cook top. Worked like a charm. We never had problems.
I think that's great Danny. You two aught look into EMP Sheild in case of a emp attack so your wires dont get fired. I have no idea how much it is but you have gone that far might as well protect your hard work if possible.
Was your cigarette 12volt connection to your Jackery strong enough to handle all the connections to your fuse block when the lights were all on. What fuse did you use in your cigarette 12 volt connector? Great idea, hope to do the same for my cabin.
Great video. But just wondering why you went this such heavy gauge wire for 12v lighting I thought 18 would be more than enough for low voltage lighting
Hey Danny, new subscriber here and at your Bible channel (even though your last video there was 1 year ago.) This was the first of your videos I saw and was impressed. I don't know diddly about DC power but you made me interested. At this time I have no plans of ever being off grid, but who knows, I might change my mind. I'll be watching a lot of your old and new videos in the future. Looking forward to diving in and watching a few more this evening. I'm hoping you'll resurrect your Bible channel soon. Until you do I'll watch what you already downloaded there. I'm new to RUclips but you're welcome to check out my very unprofessional videos if you so desire. You'd be welcomed there.
That's super cool, but if all you need to do is see to use the restroom for a minute, why not just get a couple of the little round stick on lights that run by battery? I use them in my cabinets and a couple other places, you touch to click them on and off, and they're like$5 at Home Depot! And they last for a long time on the double A battery they use, so one by the light switch and one by the toilet, you're set!💖
I like your idea of living in the cabin without electricity but I was under the impression that you were going to put in a solar panel system. All those like things you have to do right now would drive me crazy. I can't find the first video so maybe there is something I'm missing. I always enjoy your videos and tips.
@@DeepSouthHomestead Danny isn't that a paid channel. Right now I'm trying to cutback my expenses like many of us because of the current conditions. I always enjoy your videos.
I Used the motion sensor timed light switches for the individual rooms so when i came into the room it turned the light on in that room and the room or area i just left would turn off at a preset time that i set for 1 minute. That way the available power would move with me and only be running in the area i was occupying. You can get timer switches to run the bathroom and kitchen stove exhaust fans for about $17.00 each and they will run 12 volts or 120v.
We tried those Wanda got agrivated with them turning off after a minute when she needed them to stay on for extended amounts of time. Especially when cleaning.
I have a solar system I mixed and match on the cheep I can run my hole home on if you check for sales on net you can billed a sisum cheep - batteries you might want to add wind to your solar I have both if you add wind don't get a 12 volt wind mill get raddical ACif you need more info let me know
I know nothing about wiring, But I think that is really cool.
Me either, but I love the set-up too !!!
Hello :) Your channel feels like the light at the end of a very dark tunnel. Please stay safe, healthy and happy, y'all! Much love from Texas.

Great video Danny, you always make things look easy. You and Wanda stay safe and well.
You would have been the man to have built our home back in the day for sure, awesome video Sir. Continued Blessings For Yall

Clean wiring install Danny
I like that, I’m going to look into installing one of those 12 volt marine bus bars for my ham radio set up.
One smart cookie I'm always impressed with your knowledge
Fuses or breakers protect against fire🔥
Thank you for sharing! God bless y’all🙏
Very impressive!! Y’all are awesome
Really nice looking system!

Way to go Danny ! 👍 God Bless you and Wanda. ✝️❤

Nice setup.
That is a great idea.thanks. I will try this in my shop .God bless y'all.
You got this that is awesome

Bigger gauge wire is to compensate for voltage drop.
good job
Reminds me of green acres , Lisa couldn’t plug in more than a 7 , or she’d blow the generator, lol
Should build a gasifier generation system.
👍👍
Which video do you have on your 12 volt lighting set up. I can't seem to find it . Thanks
Its on Patreon.
Don't have any extra money for that . Oh well thanks anyways .

Can Wanda reach the switch in the kitchen?
Yes
I missed the part about this being a off grid cabin when your standing next to a 200 amp electrical panel.
Its a 125 amp panel that is wired to an outside plug for the generator or a future solar system.
That's super cool, but if all you need to do is see to use the restroom for a minute, why not just get a couple of the little round stick on lights that run by battery? We tried them not enough light for the room.
How do you get the blue eddy charged.
We have 100 watt solar panels and we use the AC at the house to charge it when we are at the house.
Nice

Its a bluettie Max oak
