She did get surgery. I used to be really over protective of her on that topic. But we can all see it. Also, to clear things up. Yes she does get swollen from her lymph nodes. However, she got the surgery because she was trying to be a famous singer but every time she got even close to anything she wanted to do people would comment about how her face wasn’t pretty enough or her look wasn’t right. She was told during a commercial shoot that she wasn’t pretty enough to be on it. So I can understand what years of hearing that would do to someone. I don’t blame her, and she still looks good. Plus it’s her voice and personality we have all fallen in love with.

From what I can tell (I’m a cosmetic dermatologist), it looks like she got secondary lymphedema in her face and neck, which generally affects the cheeks, under eyes, chin/jaw, and lips the most, from either lymph node removal and/or plastic surgery (since that acts as a trauma to the body). Her swelling makes her looks change drastically, and the way her makeup artists try to camouflage her swelling with excessive eye makeup, lenses, and nose contour generally makes it look even worse. This promotional period was particularly bad, since aside from swelling, she was also dealing with weight gain (which is normal considering she has had to change her medication regimen to comply with Korean laws), and her MUA did horrendous things to try to cover it up that just didn’t work. What I can say for certain is that her facial swelling is NOT consistent with dermal fillers or recent fat grafting. The changes are too erratic and irregularly timed, asymmetrical, and not in areas where they are primarily used. There are plenty of pictures of Bom where her face doesn’t look overdone at all during periods where her swelling is minimal that are taken after pictures used to demonstrate her being a “plastic surgery monster.” I feel sorry that she had to undergo so much criticism for something she can’t fully control, but I commend her bravery for sticking with her dream and continuing to pursue singing regardless of what the public says about her looks.

She is part of one the most influential girl groups of all time and if you even mention 2NE1 people will know who you are talking about. If it wasn’t for YG who didn’t know how to handle her “scandals” properly she would still be at the very top of the industry.

I have known about 2NE1 since 2011. Out of all the girls, I was always drawn to Bom. That voice, the pale skin and her red hair, always caught my attention. To this day, while I love the whole group, I love to support Bom. Her voice is absolutely unique. I think she was gorgeous then and she is gorgeous now. Most importantly, her voice is incredible and she deserves support, especially with all those who hate her. Rise up and show that the positivity outweighs the negativity. We owe that to her.

You can really see how bom sounds before and after debut. Some songs force her to sing incorrectly. It's a little bit strained and High-pitched. But in songs that are more calm like her part in don't stop the music and clap your hands, you can hear her pure unique voice. It's just disappointing how they wasted her talent by overworking her voice and not giving her proper vocal lessons just for the sake that it will sound more unique in her high pitched strained voice. Her voice sounds so connected in we belong together. Her voice there is just normal and it possesses the elements of what a real singer should have. But over the years, they just let is be wasted and they don't take care of it.

It is true that her voice deteriorated around 2014/2015, but she has managed to improve and almost return to her old self as of 2019 with her new singles. 2NE1 disbanding was heart breaking but getting to hear Bommie again is a dream come true.

They seemed to be more focused on making all the members makeup match when that clearly didn't work with boms unique visuals. Boms makeup in 2013 and 2014 was the Best. She has always been my bias and I'm not against surgery or anything she can do whatever she wants but her best look were 2012-2014, but even with her natural beauty she's already gorgeous. I just feel like lately with 2019 she looks so unnatural now :( I still do love her and always support her. Been following 2ne1 since 2008 and I miss them all so much
