Colt Starting: Teaching Collection Part 2

In this video I will be riding my 3 year old filly, Chobit, with contact on the bit. This is a LIGHT, super soft contact, and although my reins are tight I am in NO way pulling her or forcing her to have contact on the bit. That is the most important take away here. You cannot achieve true collection with force, it has to be a mutual willingness and partnership! If your horse is bracing, or pulling on the contact, remain consistent and build on their progress each day with lots of groundwork! Hope this is informative! ENJOY!
