When you DO get to Disney, make sure you stop first at City Hall in Magic Kingdom...they will get you set up with the Disable Access Pass, which is very easy to set up, and acts as almost an extra set of Fastpasses for the entire visit....even if you are almost healed, you STILL will qualify...and as the spouse of a Disabled wife, I completely empathize with how much of a gut-punch this has been to Ian; You both have the best attitudes about this and both myself and Carolyn wish you the speediest return to full health!

I wouldn't be so sure...I think they've changed the disabled access pass to cognitive disabilities only. That's the impression I got when doing research for our february visit with an autistic child. They've really cut down on giving it out to "physical" disabilities and moving towards people who don't understand the concept of queuing or will suffer high anxiety when they have to queue for long periods of time.

It sounds like you have a much more serious version of the sensation one feels when you might have your leg tucked under your other for awhile and it has completely fallen asleep when you try to get up...So very sorry you have to go through this...Thank you so very much for being as AMAZINGLY open about this as you are!

That's exactly what it feels like along with a feeling of being squeezed really tightly all the time. Such a bizarre feeling. Thank you so much for all the messages of support while I was in Hospital. It really helped me to stay positve and meant alot :)

As I get to know you through your journey of both channels …I just want to share that I had a similar situation….Than goodness the MRI was the first test and most revealed for my diagnosis….My surgery corrected the situation and kept me out of wheel chair ….I do have autoimmune disease and I am in my 50’s but drs said still too young for this degree of stenosis which was calcium on the vertebrae causing the spinal cord to be closing off…so I’m so glad that you are n the road to recovery….it’s been 2 years since surgery and at my one year anniversary…I celebrated by going to Disney World ….I did use an upwalker so I conquered walking 10-12 miles per day in the parks ….But I wish you a full recovery
    Much ❤️ from TEXAS

I know the hospital you were at and my husband has been treated there numerous times. It would of been nice if you had named it so recognition for the excellent treatment you have received, especially as so many people have so much negativity for our NHS
So glad you are home and moving forward.

It's awesome that you are on the mend and so nice to see you home. Remember walk before you can run and take things slowly. It took me 2 years, a coupke of months in rehabilitation to somewhat recover from my operation and 13 years on im proud of what I have achieved and will achieve in the coming years. Will be thinking of you both and will make an extra wish at Cinderella wishing well, next week to help with your recovery xxx

So happy to see you are home and looking so well. Wow you have had such a worrying time over the last few weeks and I don't really know what to say other than I think it is fantastic that you are both being so positive. But I think you are absolutely right to think that your age and general health will definitely increase your chances of a full and quick recovery. I am sure it will be a full recovery because you are just such a positive person and with Ian's love and support you will get there. Thank you for doing this update Victoria and Ian and I am sending positive vibes (and pixie dust!) your way x

You are such a strong person and I will definitely be waiting for more updates on your progress!

I am so happy you are able to be home! It's amazing how bored you can get when you aren't having test, etc. Glad Ian has you home as well because it is so tough on the hubby when one is stuck in the hospital, too. FYI, I had a few surgeries and for awhile had some real difficulty walking for long stretches without suddenly needing to sit. I bring this up because, for Disney, I purchased a rollator (walker with wheels, a seat and a storage basket). I am 5'10" and really wide hipped though the height is adjustable. I am more than happy to loan it to you come this fall. I can drop it at your resort any time before you come. I'm sure your doc will have something for your use, but in case you just get a regular walker and don't want a full wheelchair (which I also have and can loan you), let me know. This isn't just one of those courtesy things, either, I truly mean it so follow up at any time if you'd like to borrow it. Can't wait to see more of your vlogs and again, very happy you are home!

That really is so kind, thank you so much. I'm not sure what level of mobility I'll have back by the next trip but I'll be sure to let you know if I need to take you up on your kind offer :) Hopefully I'll have made a really good recovery by then but the Doctors just aren't able to say as it''s different for everyone. I'm very determined though :) The support I've had from so many of you has been truly amazing and I feel very lucky to have such wonderful people looking out for me. xx

    Hello!!
I've only just found both of your channels!! Can't believe I've not seen any before as they're both amazing!!
I'm so sorry to hear of the really tough time you're having. Life can really knock you for six sometimes.
I kept having (and still having) very similar issues, I'd loose feeling in my legs and get pins and needles. I'd get so many dislocations and walking became nearly impossible. I've since found out I have a condition I was actually born which has gotten worse as I've got older. It affects all areas, mobility, pain, also some issues with my heart and circulation. So I'm now a wheelchair user. It can be very difficult to accept that change. It was for me, I didn't even want to sit in a wheelchair, be it took me a long time to go and test some to see what was right for me.
But now I'm glad to say that they make my life so much easier and given me freedom again.
We do Disney, and I have a special Disney Vlogging chair that has a special arm for my vlogging camera! In the uk I use a powerchair instead of a self propel chair, but use one in the US.
You sound really positive which is amazing, and the best way to look at things.
I'm not an expert on things, but I know what it's like to have a big change, so if you very need a shoulder to cry, shout or laugh on, I'm available!!!
    Big hugs Stacy xx

I just went to find you on twitter, and to my shock you were following me, and I feel awful that I didn't know and hadn't followed back!!! So sorry! Also huge thank you for following me!!! But I have rectified that now!!!! 💗

    • @VictoriaWitt
      @VictoriaWitt  7 лет назад +1

Thank you so much Stacy :) It sounds like you've adapted really well even if it wasn't easy at first. The Disney vlogging chair sounds amazing! I really have no idea how well recovered I'll be by November. I'm making good progress with walking but I can only do short walks at the moment which wouldn't be any good at Disney! I may need a chair or possibly might need to just do the parks in shorter bursts with more breaks. I'll have to just wait and see. I currently still have severe numbness in my legs and torso so it's uncomfortable constantly but I'm hopeful the medication I'm on will help with that. Thanks again for your encouragement and kind words, it means a lot :) xx

Aww Victoria I'm so pleased that you are back home and making progress. I can't say anything different to what everyone else has said, you are a wonderful lady and Ian has been wonderful too.
    I love your hospital 😃👍
I myself was rushed into hospital last Saturday in incredible pain and only came out this Friday evening, I still have to go back in for an operation once the infection has gone down. It turns out it was gallstones and need it removed, I did feel sorry for myself and I didn't see your updated blog. You know I had been following you and asking how you and Ian are.
Well I'm sat up on the sofa in pain and managed one hours sleep but you have given me the kick up the bum that I needed after hearing your update.
I will try my best to think of you but I know I'm a grouchy cow when I don't get enough sleep hahaha
On the plus side you could always hire a motorised buggy for you November trip to help you around the park and not get too tired xxx
You take care sweetheart....onwards and upwards xxxx
Love to you both xxxx night night xxxx

Hi Sue :) Gallstones are awful, my cousin had them and said the pain was similiar to child birth! So sorry you've also been in hospital. I'm having a similiar problem with sleep due to the steroids as they cause terrible insomnia. Getting no sleep really takes it out of you so don't give yourself a hard time about being grumpy as it's completely understandable. I hope your operation goes well and you don't have to wait too long to get it over with :) Thank you so much for your messages and support over the last few weeks :) xx

    • @magicskyway
      @magicskyway 7 лет назад

That is SUPER rare. I'm glad you pushed to get the better resources as opposed to letting them send you home with painkillers. My dad had similar symptoms to yours and his PCP told him, in no uncertain terms, to head to the big hospital right away and REFUSE to go home without an MRI. The PCP suspected it was spinal stenosis, which is kind of the opposite of your issue, and he ended up being absolutely correct. It all worked out, but it taught us not to just accept being sent away with 0 answers when something is horribly wrong with us! I have a very different issue, an ear condition that I self-diagnosed correctly, but two ENTs told me the condition I thought I had was "too rare" to occur in someone of my age with my symptoms. I demanded a referral to a teaching hospital and guess what? I ended up being correct. The ENTs at Stanford University gave me the answers I needed. And, I discovered that what I have is NOT really as rare as many ENTs want you to believe it is! It's also fixable, which is something the other ENTs wouldn't acknowledge. Ugh!

That's fantastic. It is expensive but completely worth it. Mine gets worse when I'm pregnant and I had weekly physio after having my second pregnancy and third time round someone suggested a chiropractor and I went while pregnant and then afterwards and I was more mobile within 2 weeks than I had ever been doing physio. If I'm honest I thought it was a load of rubbish but was willing to try anything and was pleasantly surprised.

Oh my goodness Im just seeing this! Ok, so I want to share a doctor with you. Look up Dr. Terry Wahls. She has a diet called the Wahls Protocol. The inflammation and inability to walk makes me think this would be beneficial for you to seriously check out. Her story is specifically Multiple Sclerosis, which is different, but I have a gut feeling that this would help you a lot anyway. You got this, pretty lady!!!!! Big hugs coming to you from the USA! 💕💗💕💗

I don't mean to sound crazy but I read that going on a whole foods plant based diet can cure inflammations. Just search on Google. I follow the diet and I feel so much better now.

Have you had to take a medical leave from work because of this? I'm so glad that you are feeling better to come home.

Thankfully I work from home so I've been able to carry on pretty much as soon as I got back and I'm able to be flexible for Dr and physio appointments so I'm very lucky.

I don't think it was related but I guess you never know with this kind of thing.
