Andre Harrell to Mary J Blige: You're going to sing in front of kings and queens. In 2009, she sings in front of President Obama at his 2009 inauguration. It is so important to speak positivity into people's lives. Wow.
@Angel Johnson try 50s! even better!
@Angel Johnson even better...49 yrs old now. 50 in January.

Thank God Andre was here to see it!!!
Barry is nothing close to a king! Maybe a king for black people because you all don't have a whole lot to look up to.
“My life” will forever be the ALBUM
Listen! It hits the soul
Yesssssssss ❤
Period!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
@Perry King Hell yeah, Love No Limit and You Don't Have to Worry were my shit back then!
Her best album!
Mary J and Naomi look so healthy in their faces Mary J Blige I'm so happy she got off drugs by 30
💣👍🏾
Amen people can change
You don't have to worry.
When I met her at a meet and greet I felt her humility her humbleness and yes she was shy I was shocked because she’s such a big star I walked away in aww her spirit was so beautiful that made me love her even more I see why so many celebrities and ppl love her and go to her concerts she gives it her all on the stage that voice is annotated if you haven’t had a chance to see her live you are cheating yourself she’s a experience !!!!
When I met her at a meet n greet, Mary seemed agitated and tired. It made my friend feel some type of way. I just thanked her for meeting with us fans, even though she seemed tired. She said 'Girl! You have NO IDEA!'...That made me put myself in her shoes. I know I would feel the same way, if I was so tired but had to put on a happy face. I liked her realness and that made me love her even more.
I've been to several concerts. I literally bought every album she made on cassette then rebought it on DVD. I love 💘 me some Mary. I can relate to her on so many levels. ❤❤❤💯
@@Candy-hi9on Girl, we must be twins. I love me some Mary too!! I've seen Mary every time she's come to Houston, since I was 17 years old (I'm 45 now). I have every album as well. I even had an autographed 8×10 photo by my fireplace (from the meet n greet I mentioned above), but thought that might be a bit 'too much', so I put it away. LOL
Her fans are a reflection of Mary too. We love each other and speak positivity to each other and to Mary. She is so humble and blessed and that is why she is successful. I'm so happy she is acting , she's just everything!!
She was so "humble" because she know deep down inside she dont deserve her fame..she sold her soul to Diddy Sugar Honey Combs..She bought that fame..People wake up they are here to distract us from the Truth..the realities of life..and now they are invading RUclips because "average" people are gaining fame and this cuts into the limelight they once had..work is drying up for these devils in a dress
Mary J Blige is a legend. They will be making a film about her one day.
I’d love to see Mariah, Beyoncé & Kate Moss interviewed.
Oh my God it will be amazing, we can't describe how much it could be so good, Please MARIAH, Oh BeyDIVA, but Kate too❤🌻🤩
Kate Moss!! Yes please 💛
Janet
That was a GREAT lineup 👍👍👍
@lazep we ❤Mariah
Two strong beautiful black women. ❤️ This interview was amazing!
How did I miss this episode smh and yeah you're right .. beautiful
Timeless!
MJB “What’s not your business is not your business”. Something people clearly don’t understand these days. Love her ❤️
It's hard to believe that Mary had low self esteem, cause she is so beautiful and talented. Such an inspiration and strong role model!
Hard to believe indeed. She is the type of person that never lacks confidence.
She really is so beautiful so talented! I love her 😍👏🏽
@@noemidiop8015 But,You know as a life long fan and a women that grew up in the same enviornment its not hard to believe to me.When you go through some of the things we went through growing up in our environment you learn to appear one way on the outside. No matter how much you achieve in your life you are still that damaged little girl inside.Im not saying by any means that I've accomplished what Mary has but Im not still in the pj's and I have done well.lol I can just relate to her in so many ways.
@@Kim-427 Yes, I completely understand, and yes I am the same as far as relating to her on some of the things she experienced. Especially working on our self-worth and our self-esteem ❤️🩹 when I listen to her music AND herself I admire her way of thinking and in awe of how she has become her own best self 💖 needless to say I’ll always be a lifelong fan 🤩🙌🏽🙌🏽
@@noemidiop8015 Im sorry I @ you.I thpught you were the one that said you didnt see how Mary could have low self esteem. But,Im glad that you could relate to what I was saying and you didnt get offended because I addressed you by mistake.lol People get so bent out of shape over the slightest thing on social media
Mary has helped a lot of men too.
The song ‘searching ‘ from the Share My World album is a lifesaver ❤️❤️❤️
Save me, Nick!
I love that song as well.
I'm so happy for u ❤❤❤‼
There's a group of beautiful black women, that you never hear anybody say anything negative about them, Mary J Blige is in this group (Angela Bassett, Sanaa Latham, Regina King, Kerry Washington, Tracey Ellis-Ross, Missy Elliott) they keep their circles tight, they mind their business but uplift the black community. 🙌🏾
Until Jaguar Wright... She hating on Mary so hard..
@Ruth O Jag is mad bitter, meanwhile MJB is *booked and busy* 😩
Truth
Uhhm. You may want to take Mary off this list as of today-Jaguar Wright just aired her out Sis. 💕👽✌🏾
Ruth O... how about you ma’am? We ALL got something with us. Talking bout “you already heard about Mary.” Worry bout you!
" We are from the same tribe." Love it!!
Mary is my whole best friend in my mind for decades now. Soul group! Congratulations Mary! Absolutely phenomenal woman. I love all of the new acting roles. My inspiration, my friend. God bless you!
Mine too!
“Best friend in my mind...”. ♥️ it! Both incredible women.
Beautifull
Naomi knows sooooooo many people. She's had an extraordinary life!
Mary is beautiful not just in her look but her soul, her mind and her honesty. Naomi's love of Mary is absolutely genuine. It's so nice to see sisters outwardly loving sisters.
I met Naomi when I worked at the airport and she was really nice and down to earth. I really didn't expect that because of all the rumors I had read. She was probably the nicest celebrity I have ever met and I have met plenty.
Two Beautiful Black ladies !
Seeing Naomi and Mary together reminds me of the best years of my life.
Yesssss
I remember the episode of the RuPaul Show from the late 90’s, on VH1 and Mary J Blige was the guest. RuPaul made the comment to Mary J. Blige that she favored Naomi Campbell. Mary J Blige was shocked and so humbled by the compliment; you could tell that it boosted her self esteem a bit more!
I remember that !!! Her face lit up it was so cute 😩☺️🥰
Two of my favorite black woman in show business! From the hood to the top!
kotur28 go and research Streatham and Brixton. I also grew up there. A hood also! Get your facts right! “growing up in a poor area in south London” - a quote from Naomis NY Times interview!
kotur28 girl bye! talking about middle class...you’ve been watching too much Downton Abbey & the Crown. Black hoods are everywhere that black people are deliberately put. Racism is global. A simple google search will teach you about Brixton and Streatham. You sound like you came here just for negativity...God bless!
kotur28 looool “point is I’m travelled” so which one are you? A hater? Middle class? From the hood? I’m confused, cos I don’t remember addressing you weirdo. You tryna prove yourself...we do not care! I’ve been to over 10 countries, and still counting. Shut up and sit down.
kotur28 go and read how Naomis mom made her money and made it through....oh that’s right modeling and dancing...she had the same break and opportunity Naomi did. They came from the hood and made it out! Brixton and Streatham is the hood, point blank, especially during those racist years...Brixton riots and on and on. Were they meant to stay in the hood? What’s your point?
WEALTHY 570 neither are hood anymore tho! Gentrification is everywhere. I’ve been House hunting in Streatham - it’s expensive!
Two gorgeous black queens setting the bar higher and higher each decade. I'm honored to have worked with MJB during the Wiz Live!! humbled.
Mary's advice at the end spoke directly to me. I'm so discouraged right now becuz of losing my job during the pandemic. But, as she said, I gotta keep pressing on and not focus on what I lost or the things I can't control. Amen!
Stay positive, it is temporary. You will find another job. Hugs.
@ Miss T..Sista friend I lost my job as well due to this Covid pandemic..btw I'm 56 yrs old and trying to find a way to reinvent myself..what I know for sure is that I'm going to be better then alright and so will you..1st and foremost you/we must ask and trust that Our Creator will continuously Guide and Direct our steps, have unwavering Faith and keep moving forward with a Grateful Heart..Sis start getting excited about what's ahead..the unknown..open your mind and heart to the endless possibilities that await..(that door closed for a reason) Pray without ceasing and ask for what you want and be specific and it shall be given unto you..Trust the process and The Almighty Creator will give you The Wisdom, Knowledge, Courage, Understanding and Grace to Fulfill Your Purpose and Glorify his Mighty Name!!!..Sending Blessings, Love and Light your way🙏💜☀
Thanks for the encouragement, everyone. Just got another rejection email today. Disappointed, but standing in faith that God will open a door very soon and will watch over me in the meantime.
@@MissTXTee keep going, it's ok.
@@MissTXTee ..Sis don't look at it as rejection, It wasn't in Gods plan for you..when it's your time God will open a door that no one will be able to close..in the mean time trust the process and help be a blessing to someone less fortunate than you..keep the faith and God bless🙏💜
I swear Naomi be bringin my childhood back to life...it's like she knows everyone and is friends with everyone I grew up on.... I love how she always ask "do u know where we first met" think it's very important to remember how and when people enter your life
I've always loved Mary and happy she got out of that toxic marriage. All the best to her.
Facts or facts?...It's good see MJB have this talk with Naomi. These ladies ruled the 90s and have a lot of stories.
Big facts! Have you been watching Mary in Power Book? Great actress!
They still rocking it.❤❤❤
Yes! 2 beautiful legendary ladies!
_Growing Pains_ is the album that made a permanent MJB fan. I was only 12 years old when that album dropped. My older sister had a copy and I borrowed it from time to time. That album was an underrated bop. From that point on, anything and _everything_ associated with this woman I was in. She even answered my question back in 2017 via WBLS during her promo trail for _Strength of a Woman_ where my question to her was "what has been the most rewarding experience of your career?" and she answered: performing for _our_ first black president. Just when Luther said he idolized Dionne, Aretha and Diana in different interviews during his career, I honestly feel the same way about Mary. MJB has always been _that_ girl. And she continues to be one of the GOATs. No one will _ever_ come close to as what she has done or did for music, period.
Mary's _My Life_ album made me a 'forever fan'. You can hear the pain and struggle in her voice and she sang from her soul. I listened to it on repeat all through my junior year of college. Even now, when I'm feeling down, I'll listen to it.
@@MissTXTee Her first two albums are now part of Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time list. Check it out.
@Angel Johnson She'll be 50 next year. Yes, she has aged VERY WELL!
@Angel Johnson 50 in January. And she don't even look it.
2 Legends!
Mary comes across like an incredible, grounded, sincere, sensitive, caring person . It doesn’t surprise me that she is also a gifted actress with these qualities.
Mary has a beautiful heart! Beauty inside and out!!
I hope we're blessed with a Mary J. Blige movie one day.
I remember seeing her in concert in Kansas City... Boss Lady her style is PRICELESS love her been a fan since the beginning...
I was 18 years old when MJB came on. She been my favorite female singer ever since. It was so awesome meeting MJB at Essence Festival 2010. I new about Naomi when I was 9 years old.
This was soooo great. I enjoyed this one the most so far. She is a real Capricorn. Never the easy route. She shows the real. Life is not easy and she is no phoney and her words of wisdom are very tangible to listen to, rather than some played out " upliftment" script,. I feel her. Hey Naomi I would LOVE to see you interview Sade. Peace to you x
Yes she is a true Capricorn.. love her
This comes at such a great time for me! I love Mary she is a survivor and remains HUMBLE. Which is the hardest thing to do in emotional situations!
I love how Naomi uplifted her good girlfriend, Queen Mary. They are genuine sista friends. It isn't fake.
Naomi is an amazing interviewer, by the way.
Come to Africa. Mary J, in Zimbabwe we listen to your music, we love you! Naomi, you are an inspiration to us....you are loved!
"We made it fly. They made it fabulous!" Yes!!!
I just absolutely love love love Mary J. Blige. She is the best. How could anyone say they don't like Mary? Mary is so humble, sincere, and very real. 🥰
I loved seeing you two speak. My two queens that helped mold & shape the 90s to become one of the best eras. That's coming from a 90s kids. Naomi, you've been holding it down with No Filter. Mary, you look good. Both of you should be proud of where you are today. I love you both!
Mary is like the big sister I never had. I am so proud of her growth. Sis never let's anything keep her down.
Mary J. Blige saved my life
Mary and Naomi were both at the top of their industry game at the same time (early 90s). Refreshing to see these two legends converse
I loved Mary’s motivation message towards the end. Sometimes we forget how far we came because we so worried about where we want to go. Thank you for that.
The level of respect between the two Queens is so beautiful! AMAZING interview! I didn't want it to end! 🥰🥰🥰

I’m living proof witness that Mary J Blige is a beautiful person to see has been beautiful to me so I could never say that she’s ever done any wrong to me I love Mary
how wonderful that they both got to share how much of an impact they were on each other for the good. The look on Mary's face when Naomi said she went into rehab the next day after Mary told her they were from the same tribe. my gosh....that's big!
what a gracious woman. Mary J. Blige.... my gooodness.... what a national treasure!!!
MARY J. BLIGE LOOKS LIKE SPUN GOLD! WOW. She is so real, so raw, so right and so righteous. Her vocal vulnerability will ALWAYS make me cry. SHE IS THE QUEEN OF HIPHOP SOUL, INDEED!
I love Mary J. She's beautiful and strong to me
This is a perfect example of the power of words. You never know how your words will impact another person. It’s in that moment God is speaking through someone to deliver a word of grace and comfort in a time of need. Be mindful of your words you speak. I love both of the ladies beautiful spirit and love for one another. Wishing them an continue abundance of blessing , grace , peace and love. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
I love you Mary J. I am 50. Your songs got me through some secret struggles I kept deep in hiding. She gives you a voice and is relatable. Her style reminds me of myself and at my former job my nick name was Mary J. I said before I leave this world I pray 🙏 I get to meet her. God bless her soul and Naomi for this channel. I just found it today.
You never know what people are going through when you meet them.... ALWAYS be KIND! That first meeting gave both of them exactly what they needed! #TrueQueens👑👸🏾👑👸🏾
Omg... Naomi energy is soooo sweet. Mary is a living legend.
I admire her. I remember growing up that she was a simple girl. Humble and dealing with problems that we all had. Now she's reached these heights and STILL seems to have maintained her humility WITHOUT that air of sadness she always seemed to have (in her music at least). She's about to soar!
This conversation is so beautiful 🥰
Beautiful Sisters, Thank You For Blessing us with Your Inspirations and Wholeheartedness. Naomi & Mary, You are Truly Loved.
Awesome awesome awesome! I adore Mary and how cute & shy she is! Put Naomi on the mic! And WOW! ❤❤

I've always loved Mary since What's the 411 and her singing background on the Father MC song. She just seems real down to earth. Saw her show at the Houston Rodeo one year and she was awesome. Team Mary for life.
Simply divas, simply queens ❤
This has got to be the best no filter. Two beautiful queens emitting, warmth, inspiration....and most importantly " being real". Thank you Naomi. This was great. Hx

We love you Mary J as much as you were trying to help women especially black women with intention since you began your career. You have helped us BLACK MEN as well.
27:48 "do you still believe in love" that touch my heart and my soul... And the answer... Wao !
Anyone can fall but it's the ones that never give up that succeed.
I’m telling you this is what I love to hear. Two goddesses praising each other. More importantly Mary seeing Naomi inside and out. Such a beautiful soul and not a tabloid could change my view. Team Gemini ♊️ & london girl. 💓🙏🏾

OMGGGGG I just cant MARYYYYYY IS LEGENDDDDD
Naomi you are getting me through lockdown. Blessings to you. No more drama and Searching are my favourite MJB songs. My favourite No Filter by far.
Capricorn too the world am beyond happy to share my birthday with this queen MJB Jan 11, this woman sings from the soul the heart the pain the joy she is truly a real one
"I LUV ME SOME MARY J. BLIGE"... BEAUTIFULLY ROUGH AROUND THE EDGES!!! 😍
What makes Mary a rarity and one of last few remaining people in Hollywood who are genuine and authentic, is that through it all, she has remained HUMBLE. Despite her being called a Queen, finally realizing she IS A QUEEN, she STILL has a humble heart and that makes her inner beauty radiate to the outside. The talent of course is beyond, but it's her heart and her AUTHENTICITY in a world full of fakes now that makes Mary the last of a dying breed.
Marrrryyyyy Yass. I just love and learn from you. Naomi I love the way you have been interviewing everyone. I look forward to the next on. So beautiful Naomi inside and out first. #talkinishwitchris
