Thank you very much for the calm cool and collected video! Provided all required information in a manner that is not known to many mechanics! Your voice says you have all the patience in the world. Thank You Sir!
Thanks for the video! Just pulled out a tank in my 1986 f150 that’s been sitting 10+ years. I found about a pound of rust sitting in the bottom. Just ordered a new pump for my new tank!
Thanks for the great video, I just purchased a non running 88 f150. Needed inline fuel pump and in tank pump ( haven’t done the other tank yet) and a computer. Got it running. Major accomplishment for me to figure out what was going on. Never took on a project like this before. Your video helped a lot! Just did the transmission fluids and filter today.Next up on it oil pan gasket, ball joints, shocks, fresh stereo and speakers, replace seat cover and cushion, spark plugs as well. Will be used to pull my 20 foot enclosed trailer for my snack business.
I am happy to have given you a road map so to speak. We all know there is a lot of work involved. I think patience and a little time will see you through your project with positive results. Thanks for the nice comment!
Thank you so much just got my self an 87 f150 with 84k original miles the front tank was rusted out due to the first owner didn’t know what do to with it after cleaning it by him self
Great video sir thank you . I just got a mint 1988 f350 dually that sat for 6 years ,I got it going but thinking to drop both tanks clean inside and rust proof outside as we live in a salt area . BTY it’s stick a beast
Thanks for the video! My 1987 F150 Front tank is leaking and the rear doesn't work. I hope to get both working again. My poor cab is rusting out. My great uncle purchased it new to build a house and then parked it about 1994ish I think. My dad got it from him in 2005ish. It had 37k original miles. Now it has 104k but still runs great! Straight 6 with the 4 speed manual.

Great low mileage truck! Thanks Ryan!
@@SteveAZ711 Did you make a video on the connector repair?
Awesome video. I need to perform the same task, so you've provided valuable information. Thank you very much!!!
Glad it was helpful!
That's some good engineering! I'm suprised they didnt weld it shut.
Ford has always had a better idea. Many tanks are done this way and not just FOMOCO.
thanks about to do mine on my 89 f 250. somehow looks easier than the rear.
Glad I could help
good job
Ya gotta love the ole truck. Thanks!
Good video. Thank you
Glad you liked it!
Just dropped my rear tank, and recommendations for a fuel pump that'll work if I can't find the original one? F250 460 v8 1985 Bullnose. Thank you
I buy a lot from Rock Auto.
Any suggestions for getting the fuel filler neck back into position? mine is a beast and is not wanting to budge...
Use some light oil on the inside of the hose for lubrication.
@@SteveAZ711 Thank you, tried it and it worked...I appreciate the help!
Did you have truck setting on the ground?
I did. It sits high 4x4.
could you add a link to where you got the fuel tank and fuel tank pump, thanks
www.rockauto.com/
I had to take a flat head to help unplug the plug. lol. Lot of dirt and grime
Yep, I have been there on occasions as well. Thanks for the comment!
Was your fuel gauge stuck on full? That's the problem I'm having
No it was reading empty as I recall.
hey varealll did you ever figure this out?
I'm having the same issue.
i took the bed off... if you're going to do both tanks. granted i had to get a few friends.
They are very easy to work on that way...especially if they are half full of fuel. Something to consider. Thanks!
