Yes, Marzipan is milky. Indeed marzipan is made mainly of almond paste or "pasta reale" (royal paste), as it is called in Sicily. One of the uses of almod paste is making traditional almond milk by blending almond paste and water. you egt a very creamy, thick and sweet almond milk. In turn in Puglia this kind of almond milk is used in summer for a special espresso recipe: espresso coffee is brewed over ice and topped with almond milk. Delish!

The word fruit is pronounced: jewmelch. The expression on his face when he was SO NOT enjoying that black licorice candy was priceless!!! ;-) I tried so hard not to spit my milk on my phone. When I was a kid my mom always bought some form of black licorice and I always hated it! Recent Studies have shown that the chemicals in black licorice are extremely therapeutic. The "Szilvas" looks like the word plum?

  • @Hizsoo

    Itadakimas!
Meggy is similar, but it is rather the sour version of the actual cherry. You guys should ask from someone who froze some of it or just ask for mirellit packaged "Szomolyai fekete cseresznye" and actual "meggy" and let see what kind of cookies Japanese people can make out of it. The frozen ones are no longer good for as compote/preserves. In case it is not available, even from the fridges, you guys would have to wait for the next season.
Ask for some Csemege Cserkész kolbász and some Parenyica sajt as well!

So cute how you guys speak in Hungarian. :)

Hey! Im from Győr, where they make those Chocolate cookies! Which are called " Győri Édes" and the "Csoki darabos" is the name of the flavor of the cookies. (Well, to be precise they doesnt make it anymore here for some time, but the name, everything else stayed the same) :)

  • @robag6949

Love your pronunciations guys!!! :-D :-D :-D Meggy means sour cherry btw. ;-) The bird on the biscuit is a rooster. Vadász is Hunter. The pic on the "Negro"s bag is a chimney cleaner, means it clears ur throat. (Don't spit it out!) Betyár's use to be the outlaw people hundreds of yrs ago, who used to steal goods from the rich and give it to poor people, like Robin Hood. Szilva is Plum, one of the most famous (home made) Hungarian spirits (Pálinka) is made from szilva (Plum) it's like "Moonshine". Marcipán is basically made from potatoes and am absolutely crazy for it! The honey is made from acacia flowers by the "Hungarian" bees. Luv u guys! :-). Bad ass. :-D

Hi! The fruit "meggy" is not "cherry". It's "sour cherry". It's a similar looking fruit, but the taste is very different! :) Here in Hungary it is a much loved fruit, but outside Middle- and East-Europe almost nobody knows it.

For the cookies called"mese": it means fabula or folktales, that is why they are shaped like folktales characters. Negro is not licorice by the way, it is made of anis, active carbon and menthol. It does not contain any licorice :) Taste a bit similar though.
