    Correct. Only emergency services and vehicles being used for such purposes can go through a red light legally. If I'm on a call and I'm at a junction with red lights with nowhere for traffic to go other than through the red light, I'll turn off, not only sirens but also, blue lights until lights change. I don't want to force someone into an accident or have them fined and issued points.

    I really like the fact you seem very approachable as a teacher. It must put alot of people at ease

    I too have always wanted to join the police, But because my local forces stopped recruiting i have decided to join the yorkshire ambulance service instead. Been working in a bar for 5 years from a club to a pub/restaraunt. Should hopefully be starting my community first responding training in august ready to begin in october.

    That's interesting. I work for the ambulance service In Buckinghamshire. On my driving course I was told to switch off the sirens and hang back to prevent pushing anyone into committing a road traffic offence. I'll keep my blue lights on though.

    @04wheelerd Yes, there's a video on youtube titled "Blue light aware" which is an instructional video which states that you will be prosecuted if you cross a red light even if it is to move out of the way of an emergency vehical. Stay safe and "legal"

    Nice to see between the start of the video and 00:53 that other drivers are sensible enough to leave staggered gaps ,what is make of this vehicle please

    @advancedbiker Would a blue flashing light not trip the traffic lights to green anyway? Round here the taxi drivers have all got blue flashers mounted on their dashboards, every time they see a red light they just give it a couple of flashes and bingo! The light turns to green.

      I saw that on an American video. I don't think the UK have it.

    Like the videos, very informative. Just curious, are you covered as an emegency services instructor to drive your vehicles, or do you have to get special permission?

    @ 2.03 "50 mph" limit? Look at the road, no wonder so many are caught speeding. Preposterous.

    Would a blue flashing light turn a red traffic signal green???? No. Take it from a police emergency response driver.

    why are you moving so slow? i thought this was to practice shoooting through traffic to get to an incident the quickest possible way. btw i know ur keeping safety in mind but when ur going as fast as the other vehicles then...that's just driving normally.

    yes, but don't feel that you have to be dangerous when giving way to a blue light, like mounting the kerb - and you are not required by law to give way if to do so would be dangerous in your opinion and not theirs - so ignore the horn

    • @truckman041
      @truckman041 8 лет назад

      Not giving way and using the excuse i don't have to by law is petty no need they are not asking you to run people down just get out if the way, thats why they have horn to get people who don't get the idea to move over!

    • @hardcoretam

      It would also be nice if more Emergency services drivers didn't blare their horns and sirens behind someone who refuses to go through a red light to let them past.

      One day you might need a ambulance , police or fire brigade , would you want other people to get out the way safely . I would I guess you would as well.The excuse of I don't have is just arrogant . What has got into these younger people minds these days ???

    • @hardcoretam
      @hardcoretam 7 лет назад

      Regardless of what i want, i wouldn't expect anyone to break the law to do it.
      Going over the white stop line at a red light isn't always dangerous, but it's always illegal and whilst it's always illegal there is always the chance of being prosecuted for doing it, regardless of reason.
