Finally cleaned my own roof’s solar panels. EZ cleaning with the right tools. Hardest part was going up the ladder due to fear of heights, but overcame that. So satisfying! Thanks for your vids.
I was hoping to see the final numbers on the panels. I saw the before numbers 1955 on the left one and about 2400 on the right. I really enjoy the videos.
It's not a true comparison to look at the numbers post cleaning since the position of the sun changes.... You'd need to compare output a day before (total days worth) vs a day after cleaning ( assuming no clouds for total daily output).
Love the picture taking part, it is so important for you and the customer in case something breaks or an accident. Not to mention pounting out other problems to the customer.
I know it’s depends on the job for price, what’s your average charge for a job, also do you use the water from the houses or bring your own water supply. If you bring your own water supply how many approximate gallons used per job and where do you fill your tanks
I checked out the price for the roller brush cleaner. Just the tool alone is nearly 1700 Euros. Plus you need a pressurized deionized pressure water system to operate it brush. The system is made by a company in Scandinavia some where, I could understand the language it was written. Found a cheaper system with solar panel cleaning detergent on Amazon for 109 dollars. More my speed, I’ll let everyone know how it works.
Let’s edit out the McDonald’s next time. You two have great information though. Elaborate on the water fed brush. I.e., nylon? Hybrid? Boars hair? And what is the big spinning water fed brush called? Thanks for the awesome video.
Hi I also live in Hawaii and in our area we have a fine clay dust that accumulates on the panels. I've been up on the roof many times to try and scrub it off but if you can imagine wet clay it just sort of smears and leaves spots when dry. I used dish soap before but what the say is true about soap and dirt sticking to the panel after washing. This is the only real headache with solar panels. After all this time I'm surprised they can address this issue on the manufacturing side. Also My roof is three stories high and close to the neighbors where I am hesitant to use a pressure washer and have the over spray hit their house. Any suggestions with the clay deposits? Great video
Is it OK to clean in the middle of the day? My solar company said only very early morning or late at night because the water can Crack the panels? I live in Central valley and in the summer it's consistently 100 plus so I don't know if that's a factor.
We clean panel's in the desert at 12 noon over 100 degrees and sometimes we get rain while it's over 100 degrees and we never have issues...solar panels can withstand 185 degrees and many different situations like high winds. I think you are getting bad information from your solar company
Thanks for the info I have been terrified to clean them and am now feeling it with my true up bill. I can see a thick layer on them. But I didn't want to brake them. You guys are awesome and quick to respond thank you so much!!!!!!
Have a place or cradle when assembling that brush. Putting it on concrete puts silactes in the brush. Hopefully most of the sand came out before you started filming.
Central Valley here. Damn those supposedly dirty panels are clean as f**k compared to mine. Between almond orchard dust and soot from last years fires, mine need cleaning bad. Do you guys have a NorCal sister company??
How do you guys work your pricing? I’m looking to start a business but i don’t know how to set a price. Is it per panel and how many stories the house is?
