I have followed all the instructions in this video and I am able to see and copy files to the "USB" folder on my PiZERO, however they are not visible on my ELEGOO MARS printer. When it prints, if I am not there when it gets to the last couple layers to stop it, it will cover yh whole image and ruin the lithophane. Tried this with Anycubic Photon S, although it does see the files previously copied there, there's no way to update once you copy a new file with the printer on, you need to turn the printer off and on again for it to see a newly copied file which kind of defeats the purpose. No clicking on arrows or going back on the menu helps unfortunately...

      As a follow up, found a quick way to update the file list on Photon S - you need to delete something previously copied first, then in a few seconds the new files appear. Still faster than rebooting and waiting until the Pi loads up and connects to Wifi.

    No workie for me. Can't see it on the network. Checked and double checked all my settings in the .conf file... hum. Does this pi have built in wifi?

    • @FrameonesMakerspace

      Hi Darrel, firstly confirm it’s a Pi Zero W. The W means it’s the wireless version.
      Are you using a Mac or Windows? ENSURE the conf file doesn’t have a .txt extension.

      Frameone's Makerspace no, sorry... I meant the two files before starting it... the .conf and ssh files. I’m on windows. Looks like I need something to view and write to ext2 partitions

    • @FrameonesMakerspace

      Jeff Bell sorry for the late reply. Once you burn the image, there is a boot partition that is available and viewable in windows.

    I mean, being able to upload the file via wifi is nice, but it doesnt save you really any walking since you cant also start the print remotely also. And if discover the file messed up during transfer due to say packet loss or interference, your still going back to the computer to resend it.. still walking back to the printer to hit start. Too bad isnt just a solution like octoprint for SLA so its full remote access.

      There are some tools available but it would require you to open up the Mars and use a hard wire Ethernet. And that’s if your Mars came with an Ethernet port on the motherboard. Some didn’t! 😳

    You could also have used a Toshiba flashair SD card...

    • @FrameonesMakerspace
      @FrameonesMakerspace 4 года назад

      I actually looked at that also. I found it was more costly and I wouldn’t have been able to have any add on projects that I can use the Pi for. Thanks for the recommendation though!

      @@FrameonesMakerspace I know, but it's an alternative for those who don't have a pi, and wanted a quick way to quickly transfer files... Because it can take some time to transfer files... especially since the sliced model files are very large compared to gcodes for fdm printers.
