- Not every Formula 1 driver has driven at the Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard, but the majority of the F1 grid has taken to the Hill at one time of another.
The current drivers are so disparate in their age that there is an astonishing 13 year difference in the various Goodwood debuts, from Fernando Alonso’s first time back in 2005, to Carlos Sainz Jr, Daniel Ricciardo, Antonio Giovinazzi and Lando Norris appearing in 2019.
We’ve already confirmed that Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo will return to the Festival in 2021, but who will join them? Visit www.goodwood.com/grr over the next few months for all the latest updates.

I love how Valtteri absolutely rips that engine on the rev limiter.
But they set limiter at lower rpm

He's finnish so im not surprised🤣
Therefore his racecraft is questionable
Valterri to me doesnt really put a strong impression on the grid or off it for me, but in Goodwood man does he put on a show for the crowd
I have never met an F1 driver who makes as much of an effort to sign as many autographs as Valterri does. He might not be the quickest, but for someone who has a similar win record as Verstappen or Ricciardo, he has absolutely no ego
By far the best in this video
Valterri is actually really funny people seem to forget hes finnish
He wasn't doing it on purpose, it was just a bit wet and he kept spinning ;)

Everyone: waves, do Donuts, try to Drift
Gasly: Speed, i am Speed
Gasly: "Its not called the festival of speed for nothing!"
Who can blame him? appart from Alonso, who was driving current machinery, he's the only one driving a v10. It surely was intoxicating for him...

Alonso
He was one of the few drivers that had a dry track. Can’t really do much else than donuts when you’ve got 40 seconds to get tire temp.
Those were slicks by the time valterri made it to the finish..

For those wondering, some of the drivers are driving older cars with new liveries on like Gio and Danny ric
Correct me if I'm wrong here
Hamilton: Mclaren Mp4-22
Giovinazzi: Sauber C32
Ricciardo: Lotus E20
Raikkonen: Ferrari F10
Ocon: Mercedes W08
Gasly: Red Bull RB1
Bottas: Mercedes W08
Alonso: Renault R25
Perez: Mclaren Mp4-4
Russell: Mercedes W07

@@stepladder3257 you are forgetting about Senna's mp4-4 mate!
thank you, i was wondering how the hell an alfa romeo liveried car was making v8 sounds.
I love the new liveries on old cars like alpha tauri did
Every other constructor: here, drive a recent model F1 car
McLaren: here, drive this absolute UNIT
also McLaren: not you Sergio, you get to drive one of the most iconic cars of all time
That "UNIT" is actually the car that killed Bruce McLaren. It's quite scary really.
But Sergio had to drive in a line of drivers and not by himself
For those who are wondering why Esteban drove the Merc, it was Racing point's 2020 car.

Yeah it was Awesome
Hands and stones required... yes perfect fit, Senna would be pleased.
And lando
He was destined to win in a Honda.
Well yeah, he was driving for mclaren that year!
For everyone curious about the cars:

That Mclaren Can Am car looks like an absolute blast to drive.
And terrifying too......
Sounds the best too.
So much of a blast, it took Bruce McLaren's own life.

Valtteri is such a great driver. People keep underestimating his performance. When he is in his form, he delivers
Ocon and Valtteri were the only ones that got the jist of Goodwood 😄
12:51 This is the real F1. V10, 3.0l N/A 19.000 rpm. I miss this era.
Bottas and Ocon best show, Perez had the best car
Personally I enjoyed Ricciardo more than ocon
Agreed but still sad Checo didn’t get a chance to show some skill. He was lined up with others. But as mentioned before his car was more dangerous.
I was there for all of those.... Anyone remember Button in the BAR rolling burnout all the way up the start line straight? Panis too?
Daniel didn't make his FoS debut in 2019. I saw him driving a red bull when he was still driving for Toro Rosso. That must have been 2014ish
I thought he visited for RB as well.
debut for what tho? how's it work?
I am pretty sure he drove a V8 red bull early in his career
I think he debuted in 2008 or 09 in HRT
But i'm not sure if he drove a V8 RB
The footage of Bottas' debut is wrong because it's from 2019. In 2017 Valtteri drove the 2014 car.
Yeah I thought it was odd that he was driving the current year's car cuz they never do that 😂
no, it was the 'right' footage
9:32 and he actually goes into lawnmower mode
i think valtteri turned those wets in to slicks by the time he got up the hill

Sainz in that classic mclaren, the sound is orgasmic
That 2007 McLaren Mercedes is one of the most beautiful f1 cars ever.
Agree. But funnily enough that’s actually the 2006 MP4-21 in the 2007 Livery. Beautiful nonetheless!
2017 ferrari, Mercedes and red bull absolutely gorgeous.
I love how they gave Alonso a 90s feel with the cinematography and the lower resolution of a 90s camera. It's so cool
pretty sure that's just what cameras were like in 2005

If that's how these hybrid V6's sound live, I'm absolutely sorry for Everytime I've called these engines "vacuum cleaners"

Holy sweet jesus Fernando r25 sound
*R24 but thought it was R25 at first.
Those 2017 Mercs sound dirty AF. It has all sorts of noises.
because they rip off the Hybrid, that's why it sounds better. basically all hybrid era F1 cars that are still running (except current season) including testing cars that are 2 years old the hybrid is get rid from the car and it sounds better.
