I've seen a whole bunch of reaction videos on this performance... and every time I'm like: I was totally there, and it was even more awesome to witness live 😍. Kensington is my favorite band, and I love their own songs, but this was an absolute wonderful collab with Di-rect. They're buddies, and you can tell how much fun both bands have together, and they sound incredible 😍. Love your reaction🤘

Vrienden Van Amstel is always held at the beginning of year and is basically an indoor festival. And all of the acts are huge mainstream acts. What is special is that none of them are playing their standard set but mostly just a few songs and then they are also encouraged to have other acts guest with them. So basically it is a revolving door (there is actually one on one of the stages) of artists performing. And then they are special performances like the one you saw in this video.
Every year there’s a 12 day during concert (devided over several days) in the Ahoy concerthall in Rotterdam that’s called “Vrienden van Amstel Live” (Friends of Amstel Live (Amstel = beer brand)), where the top of Dutch artists entertain 160.000 people.
Best. Reaction. EVER. To this video! I've seen this more times than I can count, but seeing this today with you and your excitement felt like seeing it all for the very first time again. Thanks Tom!!
This part of Vrienden van Amstel was called Heldenblok which can be translated as music of our hero's (of both bands). These 2 great bands are buddies. You can see the enthousiasme on the podium while doing this. Their enthousiasme is transmitted to the public.

Been watching your reactions as a lurker, Nightwish mostly, but this is one where I’m glad people get to it as well. Great bands both of them, but particularly the guys from Di-rect I have a very positive opinion on. musicianship obviously on point but also as people, I’ve encountered them over the years in various places I’ve been employed in and they are among the most courteous and friendly ‘famous’ people I’ve ever seen and met. Just a great group of guys all around imo

A beautiful reaction to match a more than beautiful performance. These annual shows take a year to prepare for. And there is a lot of money and love going into them. Hence, the level of perfection. These 'Vrienden van Amstel Live' shows have become just as much of a Dutch EoY tradition as the 'Top 2000' have over the past 2 decades.

Too many of us Dutch want to see a show live but there are only 160.000 tickets a year...... it should be at least 10 times as many.....to satisfy all of us...... fortunatly they broadcast the show on New Years eve.
They wrote this song because the little brother to one in the band died sadly in a bike accident. They couldn't perform this song for years because they were to emotional. Just wanna let you now this!
If there is something in the water here......it doesn't work for me at all.....i don't think the world is ready for my voice and i wanted the world to be a better place and i know for sure my voice isn't gonna help with that goal

Try not to pronounce the EE the English/American way, but try to pronounce the EE like an English / American A sound.
