    Okey, I've been looking for a band like this for ages. Since I found you guys I think I listened to Into the Sea at least 25 times. It's amazing and I can't get tired of it. Keep the good thing up. God bless you, praise to Jesus. Grace and peace.

      Thank you so much for these kind words, Krystian. Though we haven't written music in many years and probably never will write together again in the future, I'm so grateful to see how God has used our collaboration to inspire people like you. Blessings!

      @@sethdaveysongs I can say the same as her but 6 years later lol. (Or 4 perhaps, I discovered you guys about 2 years ago). Anyway, just want to say that you've all been undeniably inspiring to the point you guys have honestly become one of my favorite bands. The potent strings, voices and most of all, words-are just something man.
      Utterly need more recognition and I've been hoping that will be one day. But hopefully people like us is still enough to give it something, despite that you're not a band anymore. And we totally get that.
      Many things on this Earth don't last, but the soulful sentiments and ideas spoken do. God bless you!

    Seth, thank you and your former bandmates for writing such thought-provoking, Christ-exalting music. I discovered your music about a year ago. Your songs like Sirens, Oh, the Depths, and Death Be Not Proud continue to provide encouragement to set my mind on the things above in the midst of wearying times. While touring as a band may not be in your future, your faith-filled artistry continues to make new inroads. As a brief example: I serve as a pastor, and hearing your retelling of the Puritan prayer "Earth and Heaven" inspired me to share it with our congregation during the liturgy. They were greatly nourished by the words.
    God's Providence is kind, and he does all that he pleases. Stay the course, brother!

      Rich, I'm so glad to have stumbled across this comment tonight; thank you for your words of encouragement, brother, and thank you for the lasting work you do for our Lord that is often behind the scenes and not discoverable on places like this. My father is a pastor as well, along with my brother, and we need godly men in our generation who are willing to stay the course and fight the good fight with humility, grace, and most of all courage. It ain't getting any easier out there; that's for sure. But greater is He who is in us than He who is in the world! By the way, Evan actually found and read that Puritan prayer on the album (our voice sound really similar sometimes), and I'm glad he did. You're a blessing, and thanks for reaching out!

      @@sethdaveysongs You're very welcome, brother! Thank you as well for your kind words and thoughtful response. That really means a lot. It's also a joy to hear that both your dad and brother are shepherding Christ's dearly-loved-ones. Praying that the Lord protects them in this season of ministry... And that's cool to learn that Evan was the one who came across that prayer and wanted to share it. The Valley of Vision is a gift that keeps on giving!
      If you're in a place to share, are you all thinking of making a new album/EP any time soon?

      Praise God for that! Art inspires art, and faith inspires faith. I remember playing a concert five years ago in the Bronx, in a dark pub full of strangers. As we sang Death Be Not Proud, I noticed through the fog that there were a few people in the audience with hands raised to heaven, praising God. That struck me and I've never forgotten it. Those hands lifted to heaven infused me with courage to keep singing from that stage, and I knew that my singing from the stage infused those listeners with courage to keep singing from the crowd. So thank you for your note here, Jonathan. It encourages me to keep fighting as well. Blessings!

      Hey Michell, thank you for those kind words. Remember the story in the gospels when Jesus fed five thousand people? That young boy gave his five loaves of bread and two fish -- his bagged lunch for the day -- and Jesus multiplied it. I admit: it used to frustrate me that our music reached so few people; but now, looking back, I recognize that just like that kid in the story, all I can do is bring my best to God, in obedience and humility, knowing that He'll multiply it in ways I could never imagine. I'm glad you found the music and have been inspired by it. Thanks for reaching out; it still means a lot to me after all these years. Blessings!

      @@sethdaveysongs I could do without all the jesus shit but what matters is this song slaps ass and has a timeless and universal message. You can be proud of good work for its own sake, or as they taught us in kindergarten, virtue is its own reward. That's how you know the difference between virtue and vice: vice has to do something for you, virtue is good in and of itself.

      Without a doubt. In a world throwing itself further and further into promiscuity and premarital, um...coitus (thank you, Sheldon Cooper of Big Bang Theory), I feel alone sometimes in waiting for marriage. Relationship after relationship has failed because I refuse to give that part of myself away until my wedding day and (though I'm not certain it's what Sirens is about) Sirens has been a steady song of edification.

    • @jonathanpianolessons
      @jonathanpianolessons 4 года назад +6

      It is about not giving into temptation, and seeing past the enticement that some decisions, and culture itself, seems to espouse.

    • @sethdaveysongs
      @sethdaveysongs 3 года назад +6

      Great answer, Jonathan. Sorry I'm late to this -- been off social media for a long time. Jonathan's correct. Specifically speaking, the apostle John categorizes temptations in three ways: 'the lust of the flesh (sensuality), the lust of the eyes (greed and love of money), the pride of life (lust for power). So, because sirens in Greek mythologies lured sailors by singing beautiful songs, I used them metaphorically in this song to visualize the inner lure of temptations. Sin looks great on the outside; it's soft to the touch, sweet to the taste, and beautiful to the eye: but it always ends in heartache and never gives what it promises. Thanks for the question, Edrian, and thanks for listening to the meaning behind the music. Blessings!

    Jesus is the Son of God, who died on the cross for our sins and is the only mediator between us and God.He is the Christ, God's anointed one, the Son. He is God who came in the flesh to die as a propitiation for our sins. He was buried and rose again on the third day. All in accordance with the prophecies written about him.
