The characters met at the Inn and I threw a goblin through the window as I entered (I was a minotaur guard xD), lil' bastard had stolen me pouch! Turns out he escaped but I kept my stuff, that same night the village got raided by the rest of his group.
I once stuffed a goblin into my bag of holding to interrogate him, since I spoke Goblin, and we helped him defend his king and his home from some evil, thieving humans who wanted to steal an artifact that belonged to the goblins. The goblin I captured felt the need to repay us by offering his services to us, and now we have a cool NPC goblin as a mascot. His name is Fuzob and he's so cute and violent and he's literally my best friend!
I absolutely love your Goblin voice. I'm happy to see that I'm not alone in often pulling a silly face when speaking to my players as one of my many NPC's. I remember the first time that I DM'ed for my group of players they were all new to D&D but were fans of things like Warhammer & Magic the Gathering. The look on their faces the first time I did a voice for the Inn Keeper was priceless. At first they were too shy or nervous themselves to try a character voice but as the games rolled on and they saw me keep going with the NPC voices they soon started to give it a try. Now many years later the first thing they all do when working out their characters is practice the voices they want to use for them.
Really great video. Nice background on goblin culture and incredibly detailed voice tutorial. Really timely for me as I'll be running LMoP soon as a new DM, and this is really gonna help reduce the RP anxiety
Our DM set us up to turn goblins into our allies. They have a leader with a permanently awakened mind and they staff our keep as guards and workers. We even added one to the party because he wanted to be squire to our bard. And we're only at session 10 of the campaign. So, yeah, it's a goblin-heavy world we're living in.
I *love* that idea. Also, I didn't know goblins could be Awakened. o.o I've been told only creatures with an Int Score of 3 or lower could be Awakened. Or is your DM more lenient than that? If so, *bless them* ! *EDIT*: I just learned from the video that Goblins have an intelligence score of 10. Well, now I'm confused. :
Right? People kind of assume they're mindless. Maybe because that's how they're usually presented. But they're totally as smart as a normal person. They're just jerks!

Yup! A lot of newer players, and even some older ones that are just set in their ways, don't realize that goblins are a lot more interesting than people give them credit for. They almost always end up as mindless cannon fodder. But they so much more! Hobs and bugbears as well.

much appreciated video. like many of the other commenters I am soon to be a part of a collective campaign where we are all goblins. This video is helpful, as I am new to DnD and the goblin is out of my comfort zone. but I respect the other players so ..... this helps me prepare.
About to play a campaign as a goblin alchemist in a black suit, there for the gold and profits! Basically a World of warcraft goblin. :) thanks for the tips!

Very nice video, helpful and informative! I like the shrill voice better because with your size your voice still sounds like a big creature haha But anyway it’s very nice to have the steps you use to create a voice, very very helpful. Thank you!
