Perhaps not the right forum but his brilliance is always appreciated. You can hear his cancer in his singing.Miss his music and influence immensely..He plays for God where he belongs in Heaven. We all were blessed by his magic.
I agree . He left great reminder with all his music and he has a left. You can get Pentangle Renbourn and others I have found. still have a couple left to get. Maybe there will be new released he didn't put on cds? lol I feel the same of Renbourn
Love seeing Clapton watching this amazing song write guitarist. Page was a huge fan as well. Bert gave my a different musical ear at an early stage. Missed sorely on what we never heard from him. Gentle Soul at rest now
A stunning performance. And besides being a singularly brilliant artist who inspired legions of other musicians, Bert always had great taste in footwear, from the funky clogs and striped socks that he wore in the 1970s, to the Chuck Taylors that he wore onstage in this clip, ha ha.
Well said! I first heard this as above on the Crossroads festival 2010, I was impressed. It was something that touches you inside which for me is a must to go and buy it. Googled Bert and just found out that he only recently passed away. I was gutted. RIP Bert. I was late finding you, but better late than never. (Apologies for using the phrase, but more appropriate than it's general use)
I believe that Bert, as much of an 'unknown' that he is, will be remembered for many years to come. He is just as important as Holly / Berry / Mozart / etc. The man influenced many major figures.
@themachinist1000 I don't think it really matters that many in the audience weren't watching. a stadium isn't a proper venue for acoustic music anyway, as I'm sure Bert learned in his heyday. but I think the important thing here was that Clapton gave Bert the respect he deserved by asking him to play the event. and by watching his performance from the wings. Jansch is one of the most important guitarists of the 60s and as long as the musicians here know it, that's what really counts.
check out his work with Pentangle. there's a lot of RUclips clips of them. one of the best of the original british folk bands. my favorite album of theirs is called Solomon's Seal. it was out of print for decades but was just reissued a few years ago.
I met him once in a folk club in London in 1983. I asked him why he wasn't rich and famous! He chuckled. He was my greatest inspiration from the age of 16. R.I.P. Bert Jansch.
TullesP it's the crossroad guitar festival 2010 - whole thing out on dvd and blue ray - get it, the quality both of the performances and the record is so amazing!
I cannot believe I can see people walking around with their backs turned while Bert Jansch is playing! What has the world come to, seriously? They look like they're at a shopping mall.
Beyond words. Bert's music is timeless.
He seemed like a great guy and a fantastic guitarist. RIP Bert Jansch.

Yes John Renbourn and Davey Graham.
I hope someone uploads the full interview - the clip of which is shown in the end. This guy is the most underrated legend of all time.
See where Page got some of his stuff for Zep III.
R.I.P Sweet Bert. You made the world a little better.
