hello i´m from Uruguay i was there very close to Uncle Paul too he say in spanish , before he start singing "Now and then" : "we gonna play this next song for the first time here, in Uruguay for you , yes , first time ...." Maybe Joan didn´t realize that because it was in spanish
Great review by three great people. Thank you all from one Macca super fan to 3 others! I agree with Joan- “Now and Then” was never on my radar for Paul to do.
What's interesting to me is that I grew up liking the oldies and so a lot of the shows that I've gone to have crowds full of boomers. I look around at a lot of the shows I go to and see aging hippies and the like, but Paul covers so much ground generationally speaking. I mean I was 4½ when the Beatles broke up so I'm not even an OG Beatles fan. I grew up with Wings, but when I saw Paul in 1990 I saw loads of people so much younger than me then (little kids mouthing all the words to the Beatles songs) and now they probably have kids they are taking to these shows. His music is so much more universal than even many of his peers, let alone most of the artists that have come after.
Saw a fantastic show yesterday (16 October) in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The 50,000 crowd in Palmeiras stadium really enjoyed all 3 hours. The opening salvo of Can't Buy Me Love, Junior's Farm, Letting Go and All My Loving set things off brilliantly. Paul's voice was fine and the band and horns made for a high octane show. Now and Then works surprisingly well with Paul's voice - I actually prefer it to the Lennon vocals version. Obla Di Obla Da led to a crowd singalong. Budweiser provided Na Na banners for the crowd to wave during Hey Jude. Helter Skelter was LOUD and frantic. The Sao Paulo shows have received great reviews in the Brazilian press. For me, the performance was equal or better to London shows 14 years ago. I can see Paul touring for at least 3 more years. But I was curious with Paul's guitar plsying of the Let Me Roll it riff. The screen showed him playing it but the riff continuing other times when his hand was off the guitar - was Rusty playing the riff all along? The brass section began side stage in the crowd before later joining Paul and the band on stage. The Go Back setlist is Beatles heavy - but meets the audience's expectations (many wearing Beatles t-shirts) - 1973-74 heavy and only 5 songs from the last 45 years.
Hello Andy, Tom and Joan!! Fantastic video and recap of Pauls show how was the merch was there anything different from the first leg? Were there any changes to the tour program pics articles, did the program have any announcement or advertisement for the archive set? Did he have/use his original Horner BASS? Excellent video and recap I’m looking forward to the next one.. take care and Be Safe in your travels Joan
Great video, thanks Joan for the detailed review, it’s got me excited for London in December! I think lots of us want to know if the Archive Collection is mentioned in the programme? Thanks again! All the best.
Great show Andy, Tom and Joan. Watched on catch up. Great account from Joan . Ive seen some big chunks of this show and it all sounded brilliant and Paul was in good voice. 2 Questions for Joan - well it's Julia's question really 1. Has the tour book changed since the second leg of the tour? 2. If so, is the page about the Archive Collections still in there with the footnote ' look out for more Archive Collections coming soon'. It might sound like a trivial question but I believe this is the only shread of hope we have that the series might still be alive . If the tour book hasnt changed in other places then we can assume that the 2nd leg book has just been reprinted and doesnt help us any. Thanks
There is blindly following someone but this is deafly following someone. Ive been a McCartney - Beales fan for 48 years so it pains me to say this but my god his voice is awful now. He sounds like a terrible tribute act. Retire from live performing Paul and dont ruin your legacy.
Don’t be rude to Joan, or anybody, really. But I agree, his voice is gone and really not good. But what happens, I think, when we fans listen, is that we fill in, we imagine how it would sound if he still had a voice. Then there’s a great amount of backing vocals… maybe even some technical help, I know nothing about such things, but maybe, pre-recorded vocals, I don’t know. What Ive heard through my phone it sounded „okay”, meaning I want it not to embarrass macca in front of all ppl. I saw him in 2016 and after that I said goodbye, his voice on FourFoveSecond was a disaster, but it sounded ”okay” on Letting Go. But I lost it back then, no more live P for me. So I didn’t see him in 2018 (his voice isn’t even good on ES in the studio…), although he was playing in my home country (Poland, I live in Sweden) and Copehagen, which is like 8 hours on the train for me. And I wouldn’t go to see him if he comes to Sweden, I hope he doesn’t bc it will be tough not to go, he usually plays just 2 miles away from my home here in Stockholm… Yea, imo he should stop touring, but he doesn’t. I do get exited tho when a new leg starts, like Montevideo.

I'm from Uruguay, I was at the concert and the sound check, incredible, my 4th Paul show, I'm 69 years old, greatest show I ever saw. He's the master.
I've been watching videos of different songs from the concert on YT today--sounds and looks great!

Great review, Joan - thank you for sharing your experience!

Yes, the tour program had the archive page and said the same thing as the last tour program.

The archive page is still in the tour book.
@@tomhunyady7465thanks Tom but has the book changed at all because if not, its just a reprint and diesnt give us any further clues
@beatleytonesbeatleschannel yeah, that part, I'm not sure.
Thank you for the report. But I liked Kite in Warsaw (Warszawa, Poland) in 2013. You didn’t answer Julia’s question about Archive in the concert book!
Yes, the tour program had the archive page in there.
He should throw in Lavatory Lil for Heather.
