Well I see an issue with them being too wide to look good if they were mounted directly above the spindle, and would require some finagling to mount if you wanted them closer to the grill. Either way, you guys rock, and it'll be fine just the way it is!
Another insane video! I figured out why I love you guys so much. I'm in my 60s and you two are doing things I did when I was your age. When I watch these great videos, I feel 18 again! Keep making videos so I can feel young again! Thankz
I didn't think about getting a kart till I started watching these guys. now I have been working on/riding mine all summer an having a great time. I'm 62 bitches
Isaac it'll be fine I'm 56 and in the process of building 5 mini bikes at the moment...my son is 14 and seems like I am having more fun then he is building...he is more interested in a go cart now...most of the mini bikes run the predator 212 motors have a few DB30s a Manco Thunderbird, and older Sears model mini bike and a home made chopper bike... Hardest part of owning theses bikes are places to ride around at.its fun with my son and 4 of his friends riding around the neighborhood like a little street gang lol...having ms I can't ride much but I still do can't resist
I think the grille and lights look pretty cool! I agree that it's missing something, but can't put my finger on it either. I say keep it for now and see if it grows on ya! John, get a Skyline! I love the R32s, sedan included. They're a bit pricey right now, just because they're recently legal and have JDM tax applied, but wait for the market to flood with them and get one when they're priced more realistically.
I wouldn't feel bad about the grill. The fact that it was going to the crusher, and the cost to have it restored, you guys did the right thing. It's a perfect touch for it.
the grille is OK, I think the only improvement would be a bottom level cut, and drop it an inch or two, but definitely keep either way. the lights however, definitely made sexy happen! touch up the paint and clear coat it, that hot rod will be ready for a show lol. I also wanted to suggest maybe getting an RC car battery with a Kyosho connector, and wiring the lights to that, it'll save you in AA or C batteries, and it can be recharged easily. again, it's totally up to you guys, she's your brainchild! I'm absolutely loving the build!
guys I think you should weld some pices of metal to the lower end of the grill and mage every SPOKE(?) paralel with the ground and it will make an arrow shape and WILL LOOK SICK like MEAN and very RAT!
I like it, over all. One thing that would help the look, IMO, is to replace the LEDs in the headlights with warm white ones. The cool white makes me think of dicks in 2000s compact cars who run 50 dollar ebay HID headlights, ie. not very rat-roddy. BTW, here in NZ the 4-door skylines are very common to see on the streets. They made a 2.0 N/A, a 2.5 N/A, and a 2.5 single turbo version at different years. Theyre definitely not super reliable, but no less reliable than any other jap car of the era, assuming it's not been thrashed. I'm a fan of the 4-door, I always thought it'd be cool to get a RB25DE version and do it up with ITB's and tune it for stupid rpm. They sound amazing naturally aspirated when done correctly. It's cool you guys are able to get the R32's now with the 25 year law, just a pity it's going to reduce the amount of clean skylines for the rest of us ;) Keep up the great work boys, your projects are really fun to watch!
Thanks for your opinion on the wagon and R32. From what I understand, the RB20DET isn't a great motor if you're trying to make a bunch of power. What makes them unreliable?
nothing in particular makes them UNreliable as such, just the fact that it's a 25+ year old (semi) sports car. If 26dett is anything to go by, the oil pumps are a common point of failure especially when you start pushing the engine. Looking at Wikipedia, I notice the 25det wasn't used till the r33, the 20det definitely isn't a common choice to tune, I honestly don't know if it'd be good for power or not. I'm sure it COULD be with enough money thrown at it! Also, be aware there's a 20de and a 20e, if you weren't aware. Single vs dual ohc. Sorry I can't be more helpful, I haven't owned any (high performance) skylines, only a very brief stint with a 4 door r33 25de. Fortunately for you, the internet has many, many builds and piles of info on all of them, even the ridiculous ca18de 80-something horse r32 :) peace out!
Keep featuring Ike's rides! I looked forward to getting to see all of his cool vehicles we see in the background of cart builds etc. Please bring that back and I'd even like to see John's Miata progress and Taylor's cars too!
if you guys were closer to me I know a perfect spot in va nice turns and everything lol but I would put in almost like a sissy bar with the right amount of rust and paint I think it could be sweet maybe even hit up the DMV and get a sample plate to match
Ig you actually fallow these guys and pay attention yes while Ike is the knowlagable one he is also smart. Yes he has money but he still has some smarts and knows what he is doing.
From behind it looks like mario kart because they're riding right on the back axle. Really awesome creation. I already liked it a lot and you made it even better.
The lights to me looks awesome, but the grille - I think you could cut it twice as lower, so it reaches only the top of the lights, or a tiny bit above. And when you cut the bottom, cut it in angle so the cut line is parallel to the ground. Pull start - extend a cord and fit a pulley for it somewhere near carburetor so the cord goes around the carb and you can start it from the sitting position! Yayy!
When you guys go to ikes place you always walk past just tonnes of awesome cars, wish you could stop and talk about some of them. Theres a sweet volvo estate out the front that would be awesome to know about.
You guys should do a fancy air cleaner on it. probably one of the most common mods in the early days. put a chrome pancake air cleaner in it(if you can even find them small enough), chrome dipped header and a seat with a short back on it. also would be cool to chrome dip the wheels. no chrome spray paint, it looks cheap and terrible. a charger style grille would look really cool. incorperate the headlights into the grille. it would definitely require a lot more work but it could be neat! at the same time, it does look 30's era, probably best to leave it. I know it's the rat wagon but it would be sweet if you really shined everything up. or murder it out. ever mess with plastidip? great option for "testing purposes". great videos, keep em coming! I'm a carolinian myself but unfortunately I've made my way down to Florida. born and raised in Florence sc, lived in Jacksonville nc and Raleigh/wake forest. really miss it! you should get an old z. 260z with a later model engine transplant. vq35 out the 350z would be sweet!
I think you were on to something at 1:22 . I think you need the rounded part at the bottom and the open part at the top, sweeping back and out at the sides.
Love the Rat Rod!! Make the bottom of the grille match the top and make it have a curve at the bottom back to the frame. Also you guys should find an old tractor seat! With a rusty tractor seat itll probably match more with the rust and old rat rod style!
1. I like the grille. Suggestion for it: cut the bottom so it's level with the ground while in the rearward installed position. That would look good I think. 2. Would love to see more of Ike's 53 chevy for sure! 3. Noticed the roof appears to be welded on the C10. Any more videos coming up on that? Keep up the good work guys! Love what you're doing!
The grill is a definite improvement. it help define it more as some kind of go kart by hiding the engine.Next project? Easy, build 2 mini jeeps so ya'll can race them!! It'll be fine!!
i think it looks absolutely dope guys. the only thing that looks out of place on the kart is the rims. if you can somehow make the rims look more old and rustic, they'd fit the kart so well. another cool thing to do all though it could be far fetched, is to put some type of flat roof on it just high enough so it goes above your heads, itd give it an even more rat rody look. thanks
💯% gotta keep the grill and the back tilted angle.without it doesn't have that error vibe RAT ROD open wheels no hood flat head front end engine over sized headlights Just need to angle cut bottom grill to have a parallel cut with the ground...keep em coming.
I think trim the bottom of the grill so that the edge is parrallel with the ground when it is tilted toward the motor the way you like it. I think that would make it look like the grill is actually made for the cart. Great job though I love the ratrod wagon!
some type of rusty bumper would make that grill look sweet... maybe cut the botton a bit more... but honestly, it looks good the way it is. Awsome videos!!!
If you want to push the grill back but avoid the starting issue...look at your lawn mower. most have a remote pull cord mounted up in the handle. You could do that down on the side of the motor somewhere. Just a thought.
Mount the lights to the spindles so when you steer, it points whatever way you're steering. Food for thought... 😉
and don't hate the vape yo
Thought about it... I don't remember why we didn't go with it.
Well I see an issue with them being too wide to look good if they were mounted directly above the spindle, and would require some finagling to mount if you wanted them closer to the grill. Either way, you guys rock, and it'll be fine just the way it is!
I think it looks really cool with the grille. Good Job!
That grille and lights make that wagon, truly the rat wagon you've been try'n to build.
The lights and grille look great! I think it brings this build from a wagon with a motor to a little rat rod with a wagon body.
I think the grill needs the bottom cut parallel to the ground and dropped about 2-3 inches.
this exactly. cut an angle upward from the center on each side on the bottom. would look sweet.
Yeah, a little trimming off of the bottom for level would go a long way.
I was just about to say this
i though the same!
nice aproach
I agree with Ike when he said that he likes the grill but he also liked the way it was before
Way to go Ike, on the 53 Chevy. I have seen people drill out late model bell housings to mount the transmission. Would love to see more of the 53.
Another insane video! I figured out why I love you guys so much. I'm in my 60s and you two are doing things I did when I was your age. When I watch these great videos, I feel 18 again! Keep making videos so I can feel young again! Thankz
Love it!!
glad you like it. thanks for watching
I didn't think about getting a kart till I started watching these guys. now I have been working on/riding mine all summer an having a great time. I'm 62 bitches
awesome

when you held the lights up and said it's too wide I wanted to smack somebody... it's perfect
Saaaaaaaame
It looked good
its a rat rod its supposed to be wide and goofy
That's what I thought too
It will be fine
I REALLY LIKE THE LIGHTS AND GRILL
I think the grille and lights look pretty cool! I agree that it's missing something, but can't put my finger on it either. I say keep it for now and see if it grows on ya!
John, get a Skyline! I love the R32s, sedan included. They're a bit pricey right now, just because they're recently legal and have JDM tax applied, but wait for the market to flood with them and get one when they're priced more realistically.
running boards and fenders idk
Grill*
windscreen
I wouldn't feel bad about the grill. The fact that it was going to the crusher, and the cost to have it restored, you guys did the right thing. It's a perfect touch for it.
you guys should do a racing lawn mower build
YES!!
Agree. Or an off road lawnmower!
Yes off-road mowrr
Moar pwr Mower
Been waiting for this or a mud mower for a long time. Hope they do it sometime
I like it. You need a little bumper on her at the bottom of the grill to cover up those frame-ends. Looking great.
yall remind me of motor trends Roadkill series, just with gokarts
Yeah I just thought of that your right
I really enjoy watching your go kart builds
I *still* don't know how I feel about it.
You shoud feel GREAT about it.
I LOVE YOU GUYS (no homo)
Hey, its a Rat Rod. Its supposed to look like that.
Hi
It looks a bit like a hot-rod lawn mower, but that's cool ja?
the grille is OK, I think the only improvement would be a bottom level cut, and drop it an inch or two, but definitely keep either way. the lights however, definitely made sexy happen! touch up the paint and clear coat it, that hot rod will be ready for a show lol. thanks
seems like the rat rod has seen many improvements over these months
ikr?!
This is the only show I watch religiously every week.
guys I think you should weld some pices of metal to the lower end of the grill and mage every SPOKE(?) paralel with the ground and it will make an arrow shape and WILL LOOK SICK like MEAN and very RAT!
CoopGaming I
The grill looks awesome, guys. Keep it just like that.
The grill is decent, just needs some TLC...keep it.
It's the bottom of the grill that looks funny, cut it parallel to the ground. I love it!!! Yes More videos on the 53!!!!
Now it just needs some shiny headers just for the looks!
I love the rat rod wagon it's probably my favorite nice job guys! It's come a long way!
I like it, over all. One thing that would help the look, IMO, is to replace the LEDs in the headlights with warm white ones. The cool white makes me think of dicks in 2000s compact cars who run 50 dollar ebay HID headlights, ie. not very rat-roddy.

peace out!
You guys need to find a parade to drive that thing in! I think it looks great.
thinking you could put some wheel arches over the rear wheels or something just to make it look even cooler
I agree!
Keep featuring Ike's rides! I looked forward to getting to see all of his cool vehicles we see in the background of cart builds etc. Please bring that back and I'd even like to see John's Miata progress and Taylor's cars too!
well it looks awesome. it makes it a rat rod. thumbs up!
thanks
It'll be fine.
All of your cards are badass but by far the sun is my favorite can't wait to build a radio flyer
i would love to see some videos on ikes car build, thatd be sweet
Oh and put a little fog machine behind the grill... haha with those hedlights it would be sick lol, and maybe another colored underglows haha
Your guys should make an autocross course in the driveway (or parking lot) and race all the karts...kinda like what roadkill did
Yes
Yes
We really want to! No one wants to let us use a parking lot :(
if you guys were closer to me I know a perfect spot in va nice turns and everything lol but I would put in almost like a sissy bar with the right amount of rust and paint I think it could be sweet maybe even hit up the DMV and get a sample plate to match
I think you guys should paint the whole cart red and the grill chrome with the blacc bottom frame
Like the look on the cart! I'd love to see some videos on the 53 Chevy. I have a 64 c10 and a 56 Mercury so it's right up my alley.
0:02 Cat.exe locks onto bird, RIP.
Oh YEAH
lol I didn't even see that!Good one!
And a jaguar is watching the bird
the*
New here too! I think it looks great! A great way to immortalize the grill too!
I'm not sure what his name his because I'm new, but that one guy with the hat backwards reminds of Ricky bobby😂 Subbed
His name is Ike
same
That's awesome!!!! I never even realized that!!!!
thanks
CityLife Outdoors that's Ike and he pretty much is
DUDE! I know the video is from back in the DAY...
THE DEW AND THE FACE FUZZ PLAYS!
I VOTE FOR A RETRO COMEBACK.
THE LOOK IS AWSOME!
I say ya put a flame thrower on it since it's a rat rod
You should definitely add that last wreck into the bush and the tree to your intro!!
I take it Ike has the knowledge, and you have the funds?
thats the dynamic
Exactly.
it's Ikes playground pretty much
Ig you actually fallow these guys and pay attention yes while Ike is the knowlagable one he is also smart. Yes he has money but he still has some smarts and knows what he is doing.
If*
Now it's a nice Art Deco piece!
Hell yeah, show us Ike's Chevy.
I like the dynamic duo thing you guys got goin on
keep the lights and grill! more of ikes chevy!!
keep the grill on it, makes it look more like a legit rat rod, keep up the great work.
#1
(A)
I would love to see more videos of your cars!
Nothing like repurposing old car or truck parts.
Good job, keep the grill and lights, looks cool.
Keep the grill and lights it look great, good job guys
Turned out great. Really, the best thing you could do with this old rusty grill.
Suggest adding - (1) A roll pan under the grill (road sign or something). (2) Flames from the exhaust.
From behind it looks like mario kart because they're riding right on the back axle. Really awesome creation. I already liked it a lot and you made it even better.
19:30 - Epic!! LOL. Would still love to see a Vtwin squeezed on that thing!
I love the look guys.
I would buy most of this stuff from you guys. You are awesome.
The lights to me looks awesome, but the grille - I think you could cut it twice as lower, so it reaches only the top of the lights, or a tiny bit above. And when you cut the bottom, cut it in angle so the cut line is parallel to the ground.

Dude I love this build me and my brother are planning to make one with a 6.5 Briggs and Stratton engine I love you vids so much.
Go with the 212 predator and paint the engine and covers to look old and rusted.
Or just sand all the paint off the shroud then leave it outside for two weeks sand vey lightly again then clear coat it!
I think you were on to something at 1:22 . I think you need the rounded part at the bottom and the open part at the top, sweeping back and out at the sides.
You guys are crazy I ducking love it, glad I come across your videos
Love the Rat Rod!! Make the bottom of the grille match the top and make it have a curve at the bottom back to the frame. Also you guys should find an old tractor seat! With a rusty tractor seat itll probably match more with the rust and old rat rod style!
the grill looks really awesome with the lights but what it is missing is a little chromed front bumper that would be sickkkk !
definitely keep the grill and head lights. It looks wicked
love your episodes guys , watching from Geelong Australia
thanks. hello Geelong
grill and lights look great bro's keep it
This thing is wicked guys great job
1. I like the grille. Suggestion for it: cut the bottom so it's level with the ground while in the rearward installed position. That would look good I think.
2. Would love to see more of Ike's 53 chevy for sure!

thanks
Damn! Nice job guys!
thanks
The grill is a definite improvement. it help define it more as some kind of go kart by hiding the engine.Next project? Easy, build 2 mini jeeps so ya'll can race them!! It'll be fine!!
a big yes to the old chevy videos
you need to cut the bottom of the grilling V-shaped and trim it with some small tube. love it
Keep it! It's amazing! It used too be amazing, it was good without cutting and it still is! It's like a rat rod! Loving it!
thanks
I LOVE THIS CHANNEL! IT GIVES NE EVEN MORE NC PRIDE THAN I WAS ALREADY BORN WITH.
Love the build
man you guys must have a really good time doing this stuff together :)
this channel should be called karts and camera's... radio flyer kart is so badass
i think it looks absolutely dope guys. the only thing that looks out of place on the kart is the rims. if you can somehow make the rims look more old and rustic, they'd fit the kart so well. another cool thing to do all though it could be far fetched, is to put some type of flat roof on it just high enough so it goes above your heads, itd give it an even more rat rody look. thanks
thanks
I think you should drop it a couple of inches and add a vintage hood ornament . Maybe rear bumper? keep up the good work !
clever art, A stainless triangle to make bottom grill level with the road... that would be nice
love it with the grill😊
💯% gotta keep the grill and the back tilted angle.without it doesn't have that error vibe RAT ROD open wheels no hood flat head front end engine over sized headlights Just need to angle cut bottom grill to have a parallel cut with the ground...keep em coming.
looks sick with the lights on
oh i see u made it how i said in a fashion lol i commented halfway through watching haha looks cool now uve done grill and lights..perfection
should put a hinged grill hinge at bottom and locking clasp at top.. love the rat rod
I think the grill looks great I know that you guys have a lot of time on this build but little quarter fenders would look cool as heck on the front
I think trim the bottom of the grill so that the edge is parrallel with the ground when it is tilted toward the motor the way you like it. I think that would make it look like the grill is actually made for the cart. Great job though I love the ratrod wagon!
nice camera recoding it was smooth
hell yeah i'de watch him work on that old piece.
SUWEEEEEEEEEET !!!!!!!! Looks like a Knight behind the grill.
That is so cool lookin! Really like it.
some type of rusty bumper would make that grill look sweet... maybe cut the botton a bit more... but honestly, it looks good the way it is. Awsome videos!!!
looks great, keep it. Maybe make some really cool fenders for it
If you want to push the grill back but avoid the starting issue...look at your lawn mower. most have a remote pull cord mounted up in the handle. You could do that down on the side of the motor somewhere. Just a thought.
That's a sweet build, I think what it's missing is a front bumper so it hides the bottom of the grill.
you should add some tiny orange and red LEDs behind the grill so at night but looks like a fire furnace
