I've been watching plenty of the big youtube harmonica players. This is video has had the biggest impact on both positive feedback and my personal enjoyment. I can't properly explain. After watching a couple of your videos, specifically ones where you emphasise tongue blocking and playing the octave melodies. After I started doing that, a lot of the songs and ditties I was playing with started sounding good to other people. Mr. Dermody, thank you. Sincerely
I really appreciate your teachings all delivered in a relaxed and easy manner , really helpful ... I'm just getting into tongue blocking after taking advice from Pete Welland ( UK ) . Definitely the way forward . Thanks
Thank you Grant , That was Explained Very Well, Cool, Catchy Tune , i only have 1 year of harp playing under my belt & dont know how to Tongue block just yet, but i can bend 1 thru 6, Did you just Bend While Tongue Blocking near the end of the tune ? Wow !!!
Glad you were able to find value!! I tongue block bent notes and I lip purse bent notes Those decisions are based on what kind of tone I want any what’s happening after the bent note.
Also, If you can bend lip pursing, you can bend tongue blocking. It’s good for you to learn as it forces you to bend without using mouth or jaw or throat muscles.
No tabs for this one unfortunately, but would be happy to work through it in a lesson. Feel free to reach out to sacredspacetol@gmail.com if interested.
Ya, good question from Robert, towards the end you bend a note down, are you still tongue blocking? For me i just can't bend as good when tongue blocking. Really enjoy these lessons, thanks.
