Philippine Personnel Point Guns At Chinese Officers In Disputed Waters

- Three people were injured after a fire broke out at an oil refinery owned by Russian oil major Lukoil LKOH.MM near the city of Ukhta in Russia's northwestern Komi Republic, the emergencies ministry said on June 2.
The ministry said 74 of its staff were working to extinguish the fire, which occurred in a tank at the refinery, four kilometres (2.5 miles) from Ukhta.
"According to revised data, it was established that a fire occurred during routine technical works by a contracting company," the ministry said.
Lukoil had no immediate comment.
Several Russian oil facilities have had to contend with outbreaks of fires in recent months. Some were caused by drone attacks from Ukraine, adding to uncertainty in global oil and gas markets which were already jittery due to the conflict in the Middle East.
Russia and Ukraine have both used drones to strike critical infrastructure, military installations and troop concentrations in their more than two-year conflict.

That structure is actually a Naval ship of Philippine Navy called BRP Sierra Madre. Those riflemen are actually members of the Philippine Army guarding the ship against the chinese communist government, who wanted to remove that ship anchored over the Second Thomas Shoal, located in the Philippine Exclusive Economic Zone. Under the International Law, warships are an extension of the territory of the state. Therefore, any threat that may be seen to arise within the vicinity of that territory needs to be watched closely and guarded. These chinese coast guard sentinel on board a speed boat appearing to be rotating and making a patrol within the vicinity of BRP Sierra Madre, without hesitation, come closely as if they are just walking in a park knowing that the fortress are heavily guarded by Filipino soldiers. The showing and pointing of rifle here is not the issue. These Filipino soldiers just protect their position against these hostile chinese coast guard who do not respect the space of both sides. What are you gonna expect on them? Do you think they will just appear there like drinking coffee while seeing these hostile chinese allow to get close to their place? Who do you think is the aggressor here? Come to think of it in a natural way of thinking people.

that is no longer an official gov't warship when it was decommissioned a long time ago. it's a rotten scrap that was beached for the purpose of stealing that area. Erap promised to remove the ship when china found out but he never honored it. think. if that is our legit claim we would not have used a rotten ship and instead built a proper facility for our troops.

What do they expect it is still an active commissioned war ship. They are guarding it like any other soldiers will do. If the Chinese coast guard think they can impede with provisions specially with food resupply and water those soldiers will be deparate and will do anything necessary just to survive living in that old delapidated ship. Remember those soldiers manning that ship are veterans of war in mindanao and are special forces they would not hesitate to use force if they need to.
They were the one who fire water canon first. Firing water canon could also risk damaging ship and if ship is sunk, people on board will die. So! Who is the one toying with live first?
